Fifty Six

Everyone in the group was poleaxed. For such a softly spoken mouse of a person, she had the power to make herself heard. What surprised everyone, even more, was that she still had a soft, sweet voice while singing with golden, pure notes. She looked like a too-pretty office worker in a bck pencil skirt and white button-up shirt. With her hair tied up in a high, long bck ponytail, she looked like a very young office dy. But then JooHyun got loud. Very, very loud.

After the song finished, she got even louder. She turned around and saw the looks on everyone’s faces. Then got even louder when she ughed. And ughed louder than she sang. And she kept ughing maniacally. The look on everyone’s face was too much, she couldn’t help herself.

Then Seulgi cracked and got the giggles. After all, it really was funny. Not too much can phase Seulgi, but this time she really was gotten. Wendy joined her a moment ter. Eventually, everybody joined in the mirth and things got really loud. Doors opened in some of the other booths opened to see what the commotion was. When they saw the near hysterical ughter, the doors closed just as fast and even more quietly. No sane person wanted to get caught up in that mess.

She was used to people being polite in their reactions, but this group actually meant it.

JooHyun was crouched down, holding her ribs, still ughing, and started pointing at people. She was ughing so hard that JooHyun’s long, bck hair was dragged along the carpet. There were at least two other people on the ground ughing. It was obvious that she was expecting this reaction, but was not expecting it to be this extreme. That just set off a chain reaction acerbating the already uncontrolble giggles that were lingering.

She stood up with a smirk and motioned for the group to compose themselves as her next song was loading. Once everyone was back in as near a sembnce of order as they could get themselves into, she surprised everyone all over by winking at everyone before turning back around with a Cheshire smile and stunned everyone all over. No one expected that look from the quiet little mouse. What happened next surprised them to the point a feather could have knocked them over.

No one would have ever expected that JooHyun could rap. She floated within the ebb and flow, but the girl could flo. She was doing a popur song and was not only able to keep up, but she made it look easy. She was going so hard that she would make the West Coast American rappers proud. And more than a little stunned.

Again, everybody’s jaw was on the floor. Even the manager joined them in disbelief. As was with anyone who was walking by. As well as in the other booths. And maybe even outside the karaoke altogether. Though, no one would know because no one was looking outside at this particur moment to see. Everyone was looking at the unearthly beautiful, golden voiced songster who was spitting bars.

Once she was done, she did a pirouette that would impress a ballerina. Arms in the air and everything. The accompanying urchin’s grin was blinding. If this were an anime, her teeth would be sparkling with stars.

Too many things to take in all at once. That beautiful AMSR quality voice, that belting out a bald that was as pure as it was sad. Then the rapping was just too much for everyone to take in. The fuse in everyone’s head has tripped. You could almost hear the old computer dial-up handshake noise in everyone’s heads.

  Everyone was gobsmacked.

Seeing this, JooHyun was lost to another bout of giggles. Which, to be fair, was to be expected. There was at least one person on the brink of passing out from hyperventiting.

Ever so slowly, people came back to their senses. As more and more people came back, JooHyun became shyer and shyer again. When the st person ‘woke up’ she went back to being the person who entered the room. However, if you looked hard, you could see that there was a very sly look in her eye that was no longer hidden.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that someone so beautiful and pure looking would not have such a low and devious sense of humor, but you’d be wrong. Look at the group that she’s in currently, though. They are all beautiful and they all had a low and evil side to their humor. Even Seulgi has been known to prank people. So, it should not be too surprising that even small, beautiful, cssy, and elegant people can still have a base sense of humor.

JooHyun never really did stop giggling until the next day. Again, to be fair, it was a perfectly pnned prank and everyone fell for it. Also, to be fair, nearly everyone she’s tried it on fell for it the first time. A few of the slower people she was forced to associate with fell for it more than once. And JooHyun knew it, she also used that ruthlessly. Very, very few people seemed to mind.

The karaoke’s manager chivvied his people back into motion, to serve everyone else. There was a list of orders being ready and more orders needing to be pced. There was almost a tussle or five whenever this one particur room was updated or added to their order.

Who would dare to follow this performance? It turns out that in this room full of prima donnas, nearly everyone would dare to follow. A few of them were as good if not better than JooHyun. Again, this was a group of offensively talented people. Every one of them was multi-talented and so they were all much more than pretty faces. No one was allowed into their group if they were shallow, vapid, or petty. They would welcome almost everyone, but they still had their unspoken standards. JooHyun was definitely very high on the 'Invite At All Costs' list.
