DMS Chapter 26

  DMS Chapter 26

Flinx currently had around 4,500-plus low-level mana stones. He spent around 460-plus low-level mana stones to purchase his spells, clothing, and food. He did earn around 20 mana stones from the monsters that he had killed in this world and could probably have earned much more if he diligently searched among the corpses of the goblins that he had killed in the forest.

He wondered what kind of mana stones would drop from high-level monsters and how much they would be in terms of how many low-level mana stones they were worth. When he arrived at his tower, Flinx renewed the Galder’s Tower spell, then ate a vish meal, costing around 100 dolrs. He only had around 180 dolrs left in his system shopping site.

After his meal, he took a long, hot bath to rex and then prepared to go to sleep. Before he slept, Flinx checked all the pictures that he had taken earlier that day and hoped that he was familiar enough with the pce that he would be able to teleport back without any issue.

Flinx hoped that the captain and the guards wouldn’t cause him any issues and treat him as a spy. Besides, what kind of things in this town were even worth spying for?

The next day, when the sun was up, after breakfast, Flinx prepared himself to venture into the forest to start massacring the monsters there for experience points. When he was ready, he went outside his tower and dispelled the tower. Then he went to the church to inform Anuel that he was leaving for the forest.

Flinx was a little touch that Anuel looked worried about him, even after he kept assuring the old priest that he was a very powerful mage. After that, he headed directly to the gate. After saying goodbye to the guards, he walked quite a distance and then entered the forest. He cast the Mage Armor spell on himself to make sure that he had a good enough defense.

His owl familiar was in the trees, and he commanded it to scout ahead. After checking his compass again to make sure that he was headed northeast, Flinx cast the Fly spell and started flying in the direction where the owl was heading.

When his familiar informed him of several monsters, Flinx decided to bypass them since they were low-level ones like goblins, kobolds, and wolves. It was easy enough for him since he would just fly high enough that the low-level monsters would not see him, and even if they did, he would just ignore them.

After flying for three hours, wherein Flinx had to fly down to a branch to renew his flying spell, his familiar finally saw three monsters that could be considered high-level. The monsters were trolls, and again, there were three of them. He immediately cast the Crown of Stars spell, since his level 7 spell slot’s cooldown was seven minutes.

The moment Flinx was in range of the three gigantic trolls that were surrounding a campfire, he immediately cast his 6th-level spell Chain Lightning. The three trolls roared in anger and hurt. The damage that they had received was massive since one of them actually fell, and the other two staggered.

The three trolls looked around, trying to find the one that hit them. They then saw Flinx flying in the distance. Flinx didn’t waste any time and sent the seven motes of light from the Crown of Stars spell to the three trolls, targeting the monsters’ heads. Two of the trolls were hit by two light motes, and the other one was hit with three.

Flinx didn’t waste any more time and cast his 7th-level spell, Crown of Stars, and then sent the seven motes of light towards the three trolls again. The second cast of the powerful 7th-level spell destroyed the heads of the trolls. He waited quite a bit since, based on what he had read, trolls had very powerful regeneration abilities. He didn’t know if the three monsters would regenerate their heads.

After several minutes without the trolls reviving, Flinx finally flew down. He first tried his best to drain the blood of the trolls because, according to the Adventurer Guild book, trolls of any kind had very powerful blood, and they were used by alchemists to create healing and regeneration potions. He didn’t know how to drain the monster’s blood, so the only thing he did was to pick up the trolls’ corpses one by one using Telekinesis and then tie the whole corpse to a thick tree branch. He then put a bucket underneath the corpse until all the blood was drained. He did the same thing to the two other trolls’ corpses.

Flinx was a little surprised that he only managed to drain three buckets of blood from the three forest trolls. He was expecting more since the trolls were huge. Once the blood was drained, he transferred the blood to twelve two-liter pstic gallons with lids that he purchased for 40 dolrs from his system shopping site, then stored them in his 4th tab space.

He then started butchering the trolls to look for mana stones. Flinx found mana stones from each of the trolls’ corpses and wondered why the three trolls produced mana stones without fail. He wondered again if high-level monsters always produced mana stones.

A low-level mana stone was small. It was about 2 inches in diameter. The mana stones that he got from the trolls were 3 times as rge as the low-level mana stone. He wondered if it was a medium-level mana stone or a high-level one.

When he checked the value of the troll’s mana stones on the system shopping site, it stated that the troll’s mana stones were worth 1000 dolrs. The low-level mana stone was worth 100 dolrs, and the trolls’ stones were 10 times that value. Flinx was thinking that the trolls’ mana stones were medium mana stones.

The next thing that Flinx checked was his experience bar. It finally reached half of 1 percent. That made him sigh. Upon arriving in this world, Flinx had killed 7 kobolds, around 80 to 90 goblins, and now three forest trolls, and he had only reached half a percent of experience points.

Flinx was now sure that the three forest trolls were still low-level monsters, or possibly medium-level ones. He did kill them using only three spells. One Chain Lightning and two Crown of Stars. The spells were high-level spells, though, so it was understandable that the monsters would meet their demise with just a few casts of the said spells.

Flinx left the trolls’ campsite after storing all the things that he had gathered from corpses and reviewing the experience earned from that battle. He cast Fly and Crown of Stars again, thankful that the 7th-level spell had a one-hour duration. His owl familiar, which he always forgot that he named Pip in honor of his namesake's partner in An Dean Foster’s books, went ahead and scouted for monsters that he could kill for experience points.

He was a little thankful that the area he was traveling in was a forest and not a jungle. The foliage was not as thick as a jungle, and the temperature was actually comfortable. Flinx knew that it was because he was flying and not hiking. His body wasn’t exerting itself; that’s why he still felt as fresh as the time he left the town.

Suddenly, his owl familiar was attacked. Pip informed him that it was a bunch of monkeys. Using his owl’s eyes, he saw that the monkeys were huge. The monkeys were red and as huge as a teen. They were using some sort of rge, hard fruits or nuts like big pinecones as weapons, and his owl familiar was hit a couple of times. He dispelled his familiar and would just summon it again ter.
