Episode 4: The First Medal! Kouchus Field Challenge!!

Clevergreen City had its fair share of surprises, but nothing quite like this. Kouchu, Shauna, Roaracryst, Ninecoat, and Mouselette were heading towards an old, mysterious building they had heard about—a place full of knowledge and hidden secrets. The last thing they expected was to find someone who would challenge Kouchu for his first official Master Champion medal.

But when they entered the building, they quickly realized that this library was unlike any they had seen before.

  ?

  Scene: The Library of Knowledge

Kouchu pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the library, the musty scent of old books filling the air. Rows upon rows of towering shelves stretched high into the ceiling, with books on everything imaginable—Crystal Monsters, ancient legends, strategies for Brawlers, and much more. Kouchu’s eyes grew wide, and a grin spread across his face.

  Kouchu (excited):

“Whoa, this place is massive! I bet there’s a book in here that could teach me how to be the best Brawler ever!”

Shauna crossed her arms, a bit skeptical as she scanned the room.

  Shauna (smirking):

“Don’t get lost in here, Kouchu. You might end up reading about how to get your foot stuck in a bookcase again.”

  Kouchu (laughing):

  “I can’t promise that won’t happen.”

As they wandered deeper into the library, they met a young man sitting at a desk surrounded by stacks of books. He was scribbling furiously on a piece of paper, and as they approached, he looked up with a smile.

  Dustin Withness (waving excitedly):

“Hey there! I’m Dustin Withness—Shari’s assistant! You must be Kouchu, right? She told me all about you. Looking for a way to become a Master Champion?”

Kouchu’s eyes lit up, a little too eagerly.

  Kouchu (nodding):

“That’s exactly what I want to do! I want to win medals and become the best Crystal Brawler ever!”

  Dustin (grinning):

“Well, you’re in luck! There’s a challenge right here in this city where you can earn your first medal. It’s all about proving your skills through tasks. Think of it as a training exercise—something fun, you know?”

  Shauna raised an eyebrow.

  Shauna (dryly):

“Yeah, fun. Because getting a medal is always a good time.”

Dustin laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head.

  Dustin:

“Alright, alright, I admit it. I’m bad at multitasking. But still! This challenge is going to be awesome!”

Just then, another voice interrupted their conversation.

  ?

  Scene: Simon, the Librarian

A tall man in spectacles approached them from behind a shelf, his hands tucked into the pockets of his apron. His voice was calm but firm, and his eyes sparkled with knowledge.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

  Simon (smiling gently):

“Did I hear something about challenges for a medal? You must be Kouchu, the boy who wants to become a Master Champion.”

  Kouchu (enthusiastically):

“Yep, that’s me! I’m ready for any challenge!”

Simon nodded approvingly and gestured for them to follow him.

  Simon:

“Then, let’s get started. But first, I should tell you something. I’m the first holder of the medal you’re trying to win, and I’m the one you’ll be challenging. The task is simple: we’ll plant the most healthy plants in the shortest amount of time. But there’s a catch.”

  Kouchu (grinning):

“Bring it on! I’ve got this!”

Simon led them to a vast garden behind the library, full of various plants, flowers, and trees. The task seemed easy enough—just plant the most and keep them healthy. But as Simon handed Kouchu a spade, he explained the challenge in more detail.

  Simon:

“The challenge isn’t just about planting the most. It’s about nurturing them. Plants need care and attention. So, let’s see how well you can handle the task.”

  Scene: The Challenge Begins

The clock started, and Kouchu immediately plunged his shovel into the ground with enthusiasm.

  Kouchu (mumbling to himself):

“Alright, plant, grow, grow! I’m gonna plant the biggest, best garden ever!”

Roaracryst, with his eight legs, worked efficiently, creating holes in the soil and helping Kouchu plant flowers. Ninecoat’s fiery tail helped warm the soil, while Mouselette used her electrical powers to give the plants a little extra energy.

Shauna, ever the skeptic, crossed her arms and watched from the side.

  Shauna (dryly):

“Sure, Kouchu. Plant the world. Just don’t end up planting yourself in a hole.”

Simon, who had been working quietly on his own plot, looked over at Kouchu with a small smile.

  Simon (with a chuckle):

“You’re enthusiastic, but there’s more to planting than just speed. You need patience.”

Despite his best efforts, Kouchu quickly found himself struggling. The plants he’d planted started to wilt and wither, and his time was running out.

  Kouchu (panicking):

“No, no, no! Come on, plants! Grow faster!”

Suddenly, Simon finished planting his field and turned to face Kouchu.

  Simon:

“I’ve finished. What you’ve done is admirable, but unfortunately, I won the first round. You’ve got a long way to go.”

Kouchu slumped his shoulders, disappointed, but then something unexpected happened.

  ?

Scene: Plantmore and the Unexpected Disease

As Kouchu stared at his half-dead plants, a loud rustling sound echoed through the garden. From the thicket emerged a small, timid Crystal Monster—a Plantmore. It was a plant-based Crystal Monster, with petals like leaves and vines for limbs. But something was wrong. Plantmore looked weak and sickly, and it seemed to be struggling to stay upright.

  Kouchu (concerned):

  “What happened to it?”

  Simon’s face turned grave.

  Simon:

“A disease is affecting the plants in this area. It’s spreading quickly, and it’s affecting even the Crystal Monsters that are linked to the plants. This will require immediate action.”

As Simon tried to figure out how to help, Roaracryst and Mouselette rushed forward, their determination shining in their eyes.

  Roaracryst:

“Don’t worry, we’ll help! Come on, Mouselette! Let’s save Plantmore!”

Ninecoat’s fiery tail flickered brightly, as though to join in the effort. The group worked together, using their unique abilities to try and cure the disease spreading through the garden.

Roaracryst and Mouselette worked in tandem, using their powers to heal the soil around Plantmore, while Ninecoat used his flames to clear away any remaining toxins.

Suddenly, a strange sound interrupted them. A mischievous Pionpion—another Crystal Monster, this one resembling a small, fuzzy creature with a massive nose—charged into the garden, causing chaos and knocking over plants. It seemed to be attracted to the energy.

  Kouchu (yelling):

  “Hey! Get out of here!”

Simon, now fully focused, looked over at Kouchu.

  Simon:

“Quickly, Kouchu! We need to help Plantmore defend the garden!”

Plantmore, its energy restored, summoned a powerful sunbeam from its vines, blasting Pionpion away and sending it flying into the air. The garden was safe again.

Scene: The Rematch and the Medal

With the crisis averted, Kouchu stood proudly with Plantmore by his side. The plants he had worked so hard to nurture were finally thriving.

  Kouchu (grinning):

“I did it! I actually did it!”

Simon nodded, a proud smile on his face.

  Simon:

“Well done, Kouchu. You’ve earned this medal.”

He handed Kouchu a gleaming gold medal, and the group cheered.

  Shauna (laughing):

“I guess all that mess paid off after all, huh?”

  Kouchu (with a sheepish grin):

“Yeah, but I think I’ll leave the gardening to the experts from now on.”

Plantmore, now fully healed and with a new sparkle in its eyes, looked up at Kouchu with gratitude.

  Kouchu (smiling):

“You’re coming with us, right, Plantmore?”

With a cheerful sound, Plantmore nodded, joining the group on their journey to Jarbon.

  ?

  Narration:

With a new medal in hand and new friends at his side, Kouchu’s path toward becoming a Master Champion had just begun. But there were many more challenges ahead—ones that would test not only his strength, but his heart.
