Chapter 50: Zi Che's Grave (Part 2)
"Fall back!"
Wan Xi Jing Hou shouted loudly, and a bloody thing was suddenly pulled out of the cave entrance. The thing seemed to be still moving, and with the help of the slope at the cave entrance, it jumped up and let out a loud roar.
Lü Lǎodà was dragged by the rope, closest to the cave entrance, and didn't react in time. He was suddenly pounced on by that terrifying thing, and with a "thud" he fell to the ground, then let out a series of anguished wails: "Ahhhhh!"
Everyone fixed their eyes to take a look, and it turned out to be a blood-stained zongzi. In his hand, he was still gripping a twisted human hand. The zongzi took one bite and sank its teeth into Lü Old's temple.
Everyone was still in a daze, and Wan Qi Jinghou had already fired two shots in an instant. "Bang bang" sounded, and Lü Dàdà only felt the zongzi biting his face, then all his strength was pressed on himself, and he fell over at once.
"Ah!"
Lü Lǎodà let out a terrified shout again, then was pressed down by the zongzi and fell to the ground, his eyes wide with fear, not daring to move at all.
Everyone waited for a long time, but didn't see the zongzi move again. Lü Lao Da's henchmen rushed over and threw away the bloody zongzi, then helped Lü Lao Da up.
Lü Lǎodà's face had a big blood blister, covering his face with one hand full of blood. Wàn Xī Jǐnghóu said calmly: "Hurry up and disinfect, might have corpse poison."
Lü Lǎodà was in a panic, frantically directing others to fetch medicine from their backpacks and disinfect themselves.
Wen Baiyu said: "How can a blood corpse be pulled out of this hole? Where is the person who just went in?"
Wan Xi Jinghou nodded slightly, indicating the object in the bloody hand. The crowd gasped as they saw that the bloody hand was clutching another person's hand, which was twisted in pain with curled fingers and a peculiar posture. On the thumb of the clenched fist was a ring, exactly the same one worn by the person who had entered the cave.
It seems like there's more bad luck than good luck now.
Lü Lǎodà treated the wound, and the others gathered around, discussing how to proceed.
Pengzi said: "This is too weird, didn't we already have a team in front of us? How did they go down? Is this thief cave just a cover-up to get rid of all of us here?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou didn't say a word, he just squatted down, lowered his head and stared at the thief hole, using his hand to gently pinch the soil on the ground, with a thoughtful expression.
Pengzi saw that he wasn't speaking, so the others said: "I think this road can't be walked on, let's dig our own, anyway it's just around here."
Shen Lin said: "You say, is it possible that the thief dug into the tomb pit? That's why there are zongzi coming out of the thief hole?"
Everyone listened and fell silent.
No matter what, the fact that the dumplings here are so powerful suggests that there are still many powerful dumplings or clever mechanisms underground. They were already hit before they even went down to their graves, one person died and another was injured. This is really not a good start.
Moreover, these people all have different intentions, different factions and different organizations. Who doesn't want to be independent, but currently no one has the ability to do so.
Wen Baiyu saw Wan Kuang's appearance and knew he must have discovered something. He squatted down beside him and said, "What are you looking at?"
Wan Xi Jinghou pointed at the thief cave on the ground and said: "The shape of this thief cave is very strange."
Wen Baiyu also took a closer look, although he wasn't a professional, but after looking at it many times, he understood some of the superficial things. The tunnel is not round or square, and the tunnel is also very particular. A professional earthworm can dig out a tunnel in the shortest time, and it's also particular about the force, designing it somewhere to avoid collapse.
However, this cave looks very irregular, with an entrance like a triangular prism.
Wan Xi Jing Hou raised three fingers and said: "First, this hole was not dug recently, it has been for some years, and these years are quite long... Second, this hole is likely not dug with tools."
Wen Bai Yu said in surprise: "Isn't it dug with tools? What does this mean, could it be that it was dug by hand?"
Wen Baiyu just casually asked, but unexpectedly Wan Kuang Jinghou nodded in agreement.
Wen Baiyu was even more surprised and said: "Really dug by hand?"
He said, using his flashlight to illuminate the tunnel, "A hole this deep, and the flashlight can't even shine through it. How could it have been dug by hand? The people who dug this tunnel must have had a lot of perseverance."
Wen Baiyu finished speaking and said: "What about the third one?"
He said, Pengzi also happened to squat down and said: "Master Jing, what's the discovery?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou ignored him and continued: "Third..."
He said, pointing to the soil in the cave, "This hole, looking at the digging marks, was not dug from outside to inside."
Pengzi is also a professional in Taoism, and at first glance, his eyes widened and said: "Good heavens, this is not a thief cave, but an escape cave. All the marks are from inside to outside."
He said, and used his flashlight to shine into the escape cave, but he was not as lucky as Wen Baiyu. Pengzi shone his light in and suddenly exclaimed "hmm".
Wen Baiyu wanted to ask him what he had seen, when Pengzi suddenly opened his eyes wide, as if he had discovered something, but seemed unclear. He leaned forward slightly, and in that instant, Pengzi's face turned pale.
"Ahhhhh!"
Pengzi shouted loudly and sat down on the ground with a thud, just like a frightened child. His actions stunned everyone for a moment, then they all burst out laughing.
Someone shouted: "Pengzi, what are you doing?"
Pengzi suddenly scrambled up with his hands and feet, shouting: "It's numb, something is crawling! Something is crawling! It's going to come out!"
Wen Baiyu was startled and immediately looked towards the entrance of the cave, also frightened out of her wits, she took a step back, almost falling to the ground, when suddenly a large face appeared at the entrance.
A large face covered in blood, eyes shrunk to the point of being invisible, only leaving a bloody skin and a skeletal frame, a tight skin wrapping around the bones, with a mouth still revealing an eerie smile.
That blood skin dumpling first stretched out its face, then stretched out a hand to grasp the edge of the hole, and was about to climb out.
Xue Pizong stretched out his hand to grab Wen Baiyu's ankle, and Wen Baiyu tensed up, lifted her leg and kicked randomly, and with a "thud" sound, she actually kicked Xue Pizong back into the cave entrance.
Wen Baiyu was stunned, then he ran back and forth with his hands and feet together. The blood-covered zongzi was kicked in by Wen Baiyu, but it quickly crawled out again. The crowd immediately shouted: "Quickly shoot! Shoot! Give him a burst of gunfire! Damn!"
For a moment, it was all the sound of gunfire, "bang bang bang" for over a dozen rounds in a row. The blood-soaked zongzi had already become riddled with holes and fell to the ground with a thud, not moving at all.
Wen Baiyu was panting rapidly, still frightened out of her wits.
Pengzi reacted and said: "This... this is too wasteful of bullets, if we continue like this, our bullets will be used up before we even enter the cave."
"Damn it, just throw a bomb down and blow these dumplings into smithereens."
Lü Lǎodà coldly laughed and said: "Yes, the antiques inside are also broken."
Pengzi said: "We've got all the tools we need, let's dig another tunnel, no need to mess with this weird cave."
The little cart shook his head and said, "This won't do. I took a look at our dry rations, crossing the forest and desert, finding the right path will take four more days to get out, conservatively estimating, we'll need to save two days' worth of rations, so we have to be frugal with what we eat. If we dig another tunnel, you see this one, it's at least over a dozen meters long, and we can't use explosives, I'm afraid there isn't enough time."
As soon as he spoke, everyone fell silent again, seemingly thinking that what he said made sense, and they immediately fell into an impasse.
The silent Wan Qi Jinghou suddenly spoke up, he picked up the backpack on the ground and said: "We don't have much time, this cave is likely to be connected to a tomb pit, I'll take the lead, you guys follow me."
Wan Jie Jing Hou took the lead, which was naturally the safest. However, as soon as they entered the cave, it became so dangerous that the back would be even more perilous. If Wan Jie Jing Hou led the way, it would also be a matter of life and death. After some deliberation, everyone realized that if they proceeded in this manner, they would suffer heavy casualties, which was not desirable. However, there was no other option left.
Wen Baiyu pulled Wan Jingshou and said: "You..."
He hadn't finished speaking when Wan Xi Jing Hou suddenly said: "The weather is getting colder and colder."
Wen Baiyu immediately understood, their purpose this time was for Tangzi. The weather is getting cooler and winter is not far away. Tangzi can't wait any longer. If there's a glimmer of hope, no one wants to give up.
Wan Xi Jing Hou took out the dragon-scale dagger, tied it to his arm, and tied a flashlight to his right hand. He picked up a smaller gun, which was more suitable for an ambush in the cave, and stood at the entrance of the cave looking down.
Wen Baiyu said: "Be careful."
Wan Xi Jing Hou patted his shoulder and said: "You follow behind, be careful too."
Wen Baiyu nodded slightly.
At this moment, Zi Che suddenly walked over and said expressionlessly: "I'll go first, this hole looks very narrow, it's not convenient for you to go first, I'll go."
As soon as he spoke, everyone was slightly surprised. Although they had seen Zi Che's skills before, this young man looked too young after all, and had just been seriously injured, almost didn't make it, yet he wanted to take the lead.
Wan Kuang Jing Hou looked at him and said nothing.
The child immediately crawled into the hole and after a long time, there was no reaction or any sound of gunfire, so people gradually gathered the courage to crawl in one by one.
The cave is indeed very narrow, so narrow that it gives people a kind of suffocating feeling, and the wall of the cave is uneven, without any professional support points for thieves, many places have collapsed.
It's strange that nothing happened all along the way and I didn't see a single zongzi.
They crawled for a long time and finally entered a stone chamber, suddenly smelling a musty and pungent odor that was irritating to the nose.
Wen Bai covered her nose with her sleeve, and suddenly felt nauseous to the point of vomiting. This was indeed a burial chamber, and it must be a slave's burial chamber.
Because there was no coffin in the stone chamber, not even a large tripod for sacrifice, the ground was piled with corpses, all of which had turned into white bones due to their age. Several of the corpses were mummies and looked like they might have been resurrected.
Everyone covered their mouths and noses, dazed by the pungent smell.
"Let's hurry up, this place is eerie, there are too many corpses, the yin energy is too heavy, we'll all be dead soon, our bullets won't be enough!"
As soon as he spoke, everyone thought him a jinx, saying something unpleasant and bringing up corpses.
Wan Kuang Jing Hou furrowed his brow and suddenly said: "Not right."
Everyone was most afraid of him saying "no", because Wan Gujing had already become their leader, and everyone followed his actions. When he frowned, the crowd would be frightened.
"Pengzi hastily asked: 'Master Jing, what's wrong?'"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou walked over a few steps and looked carefully at the mountain of corpses piled up on the ground.
Wen Baiyu was so tense that he was about to die, this place was too eerie, with so many corpses piled up in a crisscross pattern, without any arrangement or combination. To say that this was a burial, it would be better to say it was a chaotic burial.
Wan Kuang looked at those skeletons for a long time, and when he got home, his heart was racing with fear, feeling more and more that something was off.
Wen Baiya pulled him over and asked, "What's going on?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "There are too many places that don't match."
He said, thinking for a moment, "If this is an escape passage, why would the craftsmen choose a sacrificial pit as an escape passage? Sacrificial pits have always been one of the main settings of tombs. Escape passages are all secretly dug, and digging such a long passage in such an obvious place itself doesn't make sense."
As soon as he said it, everyone thought it made sense, and their hairs stood on end.
Wan Qi Jinghou said, "There's still something that doesn't add up... these skeletons are scattered all over the place, completely irregular. At first glance, it seems like they might be slaves who were buried with their master, or maybe craftsmen who were locked in the tomb..."
He pointed to one of the corpses, which had already turned into a skeleton, but it was clear that its neck was wearing a pearl necklace, and this grade looked very precious, absolutely an antique that could be sold for a good price.
Lü Lǎodà's eyes lit up instantly.
But Wan Kui Jing Hou continued: "Slave burial will not wear funeral goods, this is obviously not a slave."
"Is it a prisoner of war?!"
Wan Qi Jing Hou shook his head, pointing to the pelvis of the skeleton and said: "The pelvis is wide and short, the pelvic wall is smooth, the upper mouth is elliptical in shape, relatively wide..."
The little cart suddenly opened its eyes wide and said: "This is a woman."
He said this and everyone was even more puzzled, could it be that this nation did not practice separate burial for men and women?
Wen Baiyu was also puzzled, and indeed it was a chaotic treasure trove. There were slaves, prisoners of war, and even women wearing precious jewels. What on earth was going on? It was getting more and more chaotic.
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "The most important point is incorrect."
He said, pointing to the woman's scapula, on which there was a very obvious scar.
"Hey? This is... a tooth mark?"
Pengzi suddenly burst out laughing and said: "This girl is really good at playing games!"
Lü Lǎodà slapped him and said: "How can you say such things about his mother, it's really infuriating!"
Wen Baiyu shivered slightly, and Wan Qi Jinghou said faintly, "I feel that this is not a tomb pit."
Pengzi said: "Master Jing, what is this?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou's voice was still faint, saying: "Similar to a refrigerator, putting all the things that can't be eaten at once together."
haven't finished eating
Everyone shuddered at this, the hypothesis was too terrifying. If it were true, that would mean there was a very powerful ghoul in the tomb, roaming around in search of food, perhaps having eaten thousands of years' worth of corpses. These living people who had entered the tomb would undoubtedly become the freshest, most fragrant food...
"What should we do?" said Shen Linsheng.
Pengzi said: "What's going on? Let's hurry up and leave, don't wait for these corpses..."
Before he could finish saying "qi shi", a faint sound of "kua..." was heard.
Pengzi trembled and said: "Who is laughing?"
Again a "gurgling" sound, this time everyone heard it clearly, and it wasn't someone laughing, but the sound coming from those corpses.
Suddenly, the mountain of piled-up corpses shifted slightly, and a desiccated corpse with skin suddenly sat up from the mountain of corpses.
Pengzi shouted: "Ah, he's risen from the dead! Quick, hit him!!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he fired three shots himself, "Bang! Bang! Bang!", and then the others followed suit, firing their guns. The corpses suddenly sprang up, and in an instant, arms and legs were flying everywhere.
They finished shooting and finally let out a breath, but then thought that such a thrilling experience was too wasteful of bullets.
Wen Baiyu said: "Let's hurry up and go."
Wan Kuang Jing Hou nodded and grabbed Wen Bai Yu's hand, leading the way out of the tomb.
The tunnel was very dark, extremely long, and for some reason there was fog inside the tunnel. Pengzi said: "It's too weird, there's actually fog, I've never seen fog in a tomb before, is it poisonous?"
He said, Lü's voice suddenly shouted, "Someone is missing!"
He shouted, and everyone stopped. Lü's expression was extremely panicked, saying: "This tomb is not right! The little brat who was walking beside me just now has disappeared!"
Everyone heard "little rascal" and thought it referred to the child, they looked around but didn't see him, there was no sign of the child at all.
Shen Lin also let out a cry of surprise, then trembled and said: "Th-that... Mr. Xue is also gone, just now... just now he was right next to me... it's like seeing a ghost!"
The little cart followed at the back of the procession, when suddenly someone touched his hand; it was Mr. Hsüeh. Mr. Hsüeh glanced around him, and Little Cart's heart gave a violent leap as he saw him dart away and disappear into the fog.
The little cart hesitated for a moment and then followed suit.
In the fog, there was a mechanism. The child's carriage followed and entered an empty tomb chamber. In the tomb chamber, coffins were placed, which should be a burial chamber, but the coffins were open, and inside they were empty.
The child walked in, didn't see anyone, and turned around in the same place. Suddenly, a gust of wind came from behind, and before he could react, he was pushed out by someone and bumped into an empty coffin.
The gun in the hand of the child was suddenly blocked, and he was pressed down on the coffin by Mr. Xue.
The child's hand shook and immediately put away the gun.
Mr. Xue still pressed him down on the open coffin, with a gun against his neck, right on his wound.
The child's car wouldn't stop shaking, and his face turned pale with pain from the wound.
Mr. Xue smiled lightly, but the smile didn't have its usual warmth and gentlemanly demeanor. Instead, his face was cold as he said, "What's this? You've had enough of pretending to be a good kid and now you're going against my wishes?"
The little car creaked and groaned, took two deep breaths, lowered its eyelids, and said: "I dare not."
"How dare you?"
Mr. Xue raised his voice, sneering: "You don't dare? I let you lead them to the grave, but you rushed forward bravely, disrupting my plan. Your wings have hardened, thinking that I wouldn't bear to kill you?"
The young master took another breath, his lips trembling as he said: "I thought Father meant to lure them into the tomb, I must have misunderstood."
Mr. Xue sneered and said, "It's not that you misunderstood, but you're becoming more and more disobedient, you have your own ideas now, do you? Who did you learn from? I taught you?"
The child lifted her eyelids and looked at him, but didn't say anything else, as if she was forcing herself to hold something back.
"Remember, I've never hesitated to kill anyone who deserves it. The only question is whether or not they should be killed. If you don't obey me, what's the point of me raising you? Do you understand?"
His Adam's apple moved up and down, his lips trembled desperately, his eyes turned red, his voice was a little hoarse, saying: "I understand."
Mr. Xue put away the gun, his face changing as quickly as turning pages, and suddenly replaced it with a gentle expression. He helped Zi Che up, gently stroking his cheek, and said in a low voice, "Zi Che, you want to follow your adoptive father, don't you? Then do well on this mission, and afterwards, your adoptive father will keep you by his side, okay?"
The child didn't say anything, but felt a chill in his heart.
Mr. Xue let him go, turned around, and with his back to him, said: "Your mission this time is to get the other two bronze boxes. If you're kind-hearted, you can let them fend for themselves. You've done well, others don't have to die, but remember, I want Wan Kuang Jing Hou's life."
The child's heart was uneasy, wanting to ask why, but asking why would never get an answer. What was in the bronze box? Why did his adoptive father want to obtain these bronze boxes? Why did he look so similar to Wan Kuang Jing Hou? And why did his adoptive father want to kill Wan Kuang Jing Hou...
The child didn't speak and Mr. Xue didn't say anything else, just saying "They've arrived."
After finishing speaking, Mr. Xue pressed something again, seemingly very familiar, and disappeared into the tomb in an instant.
Zi Che sat on the ground, and soon the stone wall of the tomb was opened, a group of people walked in from outside, seeing Zi Che were all saying: "So you're here, just suddenly disappeared earlier!"
The child adjusted his breath, stood up and said: "I didn't know what I bumped into just now, and I fell in all of a sudden."
Others also did not suspect and started looking around the tomb chamber.
Wen Baiyu was shocked and said: "There is a coffin?"
"Pengzi shouted loudly: 'The lid is not closed!'"
Everyone suddenly became vigilant, fearing that a zongzi would suddenly jump out from inside.
Wan Xi Jing Hou walked over and took a look, saying: "Empty."
Everyone finally let out a sigh of relief. Lü said: "Pfft, how is it empty? There's not even any burial objects."
Everyone turned around in the tomb, there was nothing valuable, at most a few jars, but the workmanship was very rough, it couldn't be sold for money when taken out, and it was too heavy, not convenient to carry.
Wen Baiyu looked at the coffin in surprise and said, "Huh? There's blood on the coffin?"
The little cart's heart skipped a beat, thinking its own blood had just fallen onto the coffin. Turning back to look, it let out a sigh of relief.
The color of the bloodstain was very deep and had dried up, it wasn't fresh blood.
There were many pry bar marks around the coffin lid, with a large amount of bloodstains on top, the blood had turned black, it was unknown how many years or months.
Wen Baiyu said: "Could it be that someone has opened the coffin before us?"
As soon as he said that, the remaining people began to lament. It turned out that someone had entered earlier, and they were the second group to enter the palace. No wonder there was no treasure; this time, wouldn't they be leaving empty-handed?
Wan Xi Jing Hou said, "No."
Pengzi's eyes lit up instantly, filled with hope as he looked at him and said: "Master Jing, what's going on?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou reached out and touched the scar that had been pried open, there were many scars of varying depths with bloodstains on each one.
Wan Ji Jing Hou said: "This is not a crowbar mark, it's hand-dug, and there's still blood on top."
Pengzi exclaimed in surprise: "You caught it with your bare hands?!"
Wen Baiyu said inexplicably: "Your meaning is that someone opened this coffin with their bare hands?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou nodded, and everyone thought Wan Qi Jing Hou was crazy. How could this be possible? There were signs of nails on the coffin lid, such a tightly sealed coffin, how could it be pried open without tools? Using hands to pry, when would that work?
Wan Xi Jing Hou frowned and said, "He not only used his bare hands to open the coffin, but also dragged out the corpse inside. This should be a buried woman, according to the feng shui of this tomb, it should be someone with a blood relationship with the tomb owner."
Everyone was even more baffled. Even if Wan Gui Jing Hou were a god, it's impossible to see an empty coffin and know that the person inside is a woman.
Wen Baiyu examined the head carefully and suddenly exclaimed "Ah!", finally understanding how Wan Jinhong knew it was a woman.
The Pengzi also poked his head in to take a look, and also let out a "hmm" sound. Then he reached in with his hand and picked up a gemstone.
Lü Lǎodà's eyes suddenly widened as he stared at the gemstone. It was a good thing, and just by looking at its color, it was an antique.
Pengzi said: "This... this gemstone was just in the tomb, that woman's. Look at its shape and color, it's exactly the same as the one from earlier. It must have fallen off from there!"
As soon as he said this, everyone understood that this was the coffin of the female corpse. The female corpse itself was buried here, but for some reason, someone pried open the coffin and dragged it out. When they were dragging it, they must have had a deep grudge, otherwise they wouldn't have knocked off such expensive gems.
It seems that he is absolutely not a local tyrant, many local tyrants' style may seem like bandits, but they will never be so careless, who can't get along with their own money?
Everyone fell silent for a moment. What was going on? So many strange things had appeared in this so-called shipwreck tomb.
Wen Baiyu said: "Could it be that the food-gathering zombie opened the coffin and pulled out the female corpse to hoard?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou nodded and said: "If the conjecture is correct, then there can only be this possibility."
"Get your guns ready," said Pengzi, "that monster could burst out at any moment."
The tomb chamber was empty except for the coffin, so they had to continue moving forward to find another tomb chamber. These people didn't come here just for antiques and treasures, but also for the secret of eternal life. It's said that there's a treasure in this ancient ship tomb that can grant eternal life, so even though they encountered difficulties before entering the cave and found nothing after entering, no one suggested returning.
Everyone continued to walk inside, and soon they arrived at another tomb chamber. The tomb chamber had many stone tablets that were well-preserved. The stone tablets were wrapped around by some dragon-like things, which were said to be dragons but looked very strange, perhaps they were unborn dragons.
The dragon's body is very long, with a human face and a snake-like body. One eye is open and the other is closed, its mouth is half-open, and it is holding something that resembles a candle in its mouth.
Wen Baiyu said in surprise: "Huh? Why isn't this Longming lamp lit?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou shook his head and said, "This is not a Longming lamp."
"What is this thing?" said Wen Baiyu strangely.
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "Human face snake body, mouth containing fire essence, this is the earliest image of Zhu Jiu Yin, also called Zhu Long."
"Ah, is this really the Candle Dragon?!"
Everyone listened and suddenly felt that they had found a treasure. Someone went forward to check the dragon's mouth, but it was not a candle, but a delicate and transparent gemstone.
There are many stone tablets, standing one by one, all wrapped around with dragon candles.
Wen Baiyu said: "Could this be a grave for digging ritual pits?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "It should be an invader."
He said, pointing to the stone tablet. The crowd gathered around to look and let out a sigh of relief. Perhaps it was because the era was too far away, but the text didn't seem very advanced, so there were only a few words, all of which were rock paintings.
Although pictures are more symbolic, they are much stronger than texts that can't be understood.
Everyone looked at it for half a day, feeling that these rock paintings were too messy and couldn't be understood at all. The sequence was also very strange. No matter whether they looked at it horizontally or vertically, from front to back or from back to front, they felt that it wasn't a complete narrative. However, these words were clearly in a narrative style, but for the time being, they couldn't find any rules.
The child looked at it once and seemed to understand something, furrowing his brow.
Lü Lǎodà thought he was pretending to understand and sneered coldly: "Speak, you little punk, what do you think you've understood?"
The little cart didn't respond, it just raised its hand and pointed to the marks on the side of the stone monument. Each side of the monument had a character, like a code, but unfortunately these codes were not Arabic numerals, nor seal script, nor traditional Chinese characters, no one knew what they were, perhaps they were the writing of an ancient nation that had already been lost.
The child pointed at a picture and said: "This is the first one, this is the second one, this is the third one..."
He pointed them out one by one, and everyone roughly took a look, staring at him in shock, saying: "You actually understand these characters?"
The child nodded and said, "I learned some before, but I can only understand roughly."
Everyone was incredulous at the young age of Zi Che, and quickly browsed through these rock paintings.
According to the instructions of the sub-car, the first rock painting depicts an ancient nation kneeling in front of a stone tablet, which should be a totem. The totem is like what Wen Bai saw before, a giant dragon-like creature with flames, but the totem in the ancient city has been eroded too badly and can't be seen clearly. In contrast, the mural painting is very clear, depicting the dragon with its teeth bared, one eye open and one eye closed, holding fire essence in its mouth, exuding a powerful and majestic aura.
The second rock painting is of people interacting with these people, later the people are tall and large in stature, like nomadic peoples, wearing early armor, holding shields and spears, very brave, and these people's height is much higher than that of the indigenous people.
Wen Baiyu said: "This is an exaggeration, otherwise it would be like a giant."
The third scene is a war scene, where the invaders wearing armor are very brave, fighting against hundreds of native people, capturing many prisoners and then pushing them into the sacrificial pit.
Wen Baiyu's eyes widened as she said, "So those blood-covered corpses were really prisoners."
The fourth picture is strange. The captive was pushed into the pit, and a dragon with a human head and snake body actually crawled out of the pit.
Pengzi shouted: "I know! These people are actually using captives to sacrifice, they should be rushing towards Candle Nine Yin, wanting to use live sacrifices to lure Candle Nine Yin over."
Wen Baiyu said: "Do they want to catch Juexiuyin? What for?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "The candle dragon is the god of , and was worshipped as a deity by many ancient tribes. In addition to its powerful divine power, Guo Pu of the Eastern Jin Dynasty also recorded that 'the sky is insufficient in the northwest, there is no yin-yang message, so there is a dragon holding fire essence to illuminate the heavenly gate'. The ancient ancestors endowed the candle dragon with many divine powers, including the legend of fire essence and longevity."
Wen Baiyu said: "Looking at it this way, these people invaded here just to lure the Candle Dragon up, and they want the Candle Dragon's fire essence?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "Maybe it is."
Lü Lǎodà excitedly said: "This painting depicts the emergence of a dragon candle, so that means this tomb really has an immortal fire spirit?! It seems we're not just getting rich this time! This is too good!"
In the fifth painting, it is not depicted that these warriors did not obtain the fire essence, but rather a Daoist is directly painted refining elixir. A huge elixir furnace, with one person standing in front of it, the movements of their hands are very mysterious, and it's unclear what they're doing.
Wen Baiyu looked at the painting with a strange expression and said: "This person's appearance... seems very familiar?"
The little car was also shocked, as if it felt the familiar aura, then turned to the back of the stone monument and looked at the text behind it, even more shocked, stretched out its hand to touch the text, seemingly still in a daze.
Wen Baiyu looked at him in shock and said: "What's written above?"
The child was still in a daze, Wen Baiyu called out twice, and the other finally came to their senses, then said: "I don't know many people either, can't quite understand."
Wen Baiyu raised an eyebrow, retreated behind the stone tablet, and pulled down Wang Qi Jinghou, making him lower his head.
Wan Xi Jing Hou lowered his head, and Wen Bai Yu lowered his voice and whispered in his ear: "I don't know why, but I feel that Zi Che's expression is a bit strange."
Wan Xi Jing Hou nodded and said: "I've said it before, he's telling the truth, but he's holding back a lot."
Wen Baiyu thought for a moment and said: "He must also think that the person in this painting looks familiar, but who is it?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou took a glance and said, "This is very simple, he hasn't known us for long."
Wen Baiyu was suddenly reminded of something by him, and they were still familiar with each other in Xiangxi. They had been through a lot together, and Wen Baiyu thought of the murals in the Wu Mausoleum. It turned out that this painting depicted a man standing in front of a dan furnace, who looked exactly like the one in the Wu Mausoleum, and was actually Zi Che Sanliang, who had been buried with Duke Mu of Qin.
Wen Baiyu thought for a moment and felt that it was not right. He said: "The era of Qin Mugong is quite different from this tomb, isn't it?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou raised an eyebrow and said: "Looking similar doesn't necessarily mean they are the same person."
"Ah, blood ties!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he looked at Wan Qi Jing Hou and then leaned forward to look at the child carriage behind the stone tablet. The child was still in a daze and didn't notice Wen Bai Yu.
Wen Baiyu said to Wan Kuangjinghou: "You guys look alike too, are you related by blood?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou shook his head and said: "I don't know, I shouldn't have any relatives."
"What does it mean?" said Wen Baiyu.
Wan Xi Jing Hou smiled and said: "It's too long ago, I also can't remember."
Warm white feathers seem to understand and yet not understand.
The crowd began to look at the rock paintings below, and then they started building tombs. The leader let the warriors start building tombs, as if he knew his time was running out, and built a very large underground mausoleum.
Below is a picture of the burial and living sacrifice, with hundreds and thousands of people buried together. In this era, it was already considered a massive scale of burial. The number of offerings is countless. From the rock paintings, looking at the tomb, it is absolutely rich and powerful enough to rival a country. After so many years, all these things that were once rich and powerful have become antiques. If they are all dug up, for the rest of their lives, they will worry about how to spend the money!
Everyone's eyes lit up, eager to start, all revealing a greedy glow.
Wen Baiyu said "Huh?" and then said: "Look."
He pulled Wang Qi Jing Hou to look over, and saw the last rock painting, which was not a burial, but three boxes. Someone put three things into the three boxes.
Wen Baiyu lowered his voice and said: "Bronze box?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou nodded slightly.
Wen Baiyu said: "What's inside this thing? Is it just a decoration for Candle Nine Yin?"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou thought for a moment, then suddenly chuckled and said: "I finally know."
"What do you know?"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou said: "It turns out that the secret of longevity is not in this tomb at all."
Wen Baiyu was even more puzzled and asked: "What's going on?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou said: "These three segments should be the true fire essence of Zhu Long."
Wen Baiyu stared at the rock painting in confusion, not knowing what to say. The fire essence of the candle dragon was a mystery, and no one could say for sure whether it could grant eternal life or had other uses. According to Yan Shou's words, it seemed to be an extremely powerful thing.
As soon as Wen Baiyu heard this, he immediately thought that they had two in their hands, and there was still one left, which was snatched away by the adoptive father of the quilt cart. If all three were gathered together, wouldn't Tangzi be saved?
But thinking of the last box's whereabouts, Wen Baiyu felt a bit anxious. The only way was to ask Zi Che, but he didn't say anything, and there was nothing he could do about it.
Wen Baiyu thought so and went to secretly look at Zi Che's car.
"What should we do now?"
"Good show isn't over yet, since we've already come down, let's take a look around."
Wen Baiyu knew that Wan Kuang Jing Hou's plan was not over yet, and he was also curious about the mystery. He nodded his head, wondering if the truth would be revealed when the third box was opened.
Everyone took a glance at the mural and suddenly became excited, shouting "Let's hurry up, don't let others take the lead."
They left the tomb chamber and walked further in, leaving the passage very dark. The road was actually easy to walk on, and they didn't encounter any danger. After entering several more chambers, they found that all of them were empty, with the lids pried open and the coffins empty as well. The offerings and burial objects inside had been swept away.
Lü Lǎodà started to lose hope, saying: "This is absolutely something that someone has picked over, not even a single piece of trash left, damn it! If I see those people, I'll definitely explode on them!"
Wan Qi Jing Hou frowned at the scratches on the coffin, saying: "No equipment, absolutely not done by a local master, but people leave no empty space, indeed it is this principle."
Wen Baiyu was also puzzled, what on earth is going on here, everything seems to be shrouded in mystery.
They walked for a long time, the underground palace was very exquisite and occupied a large area. Everyone entered a huge tomb chamber in an orderly manner. The tomb chamber was extremely large, even larger than the previous three combined, looking like a very noble accompanying burial chamber.
As soon as everyone walked in, they were all shocked and stared blankly, unable to utter a single word.
In the tomb, a row of seven coffins were arranged in a line, very magnificent. Four coffins were exactly the same, with their lids closed. Only the last coffin had its lid open, and it was empty. The other six coffins were intact, indicating that they had never been opened before, which meant that there must be treasures inside!
Everyone was eager to try, Lao Da began to rub his fists and palms, saying: "Damn it, finally let me find a good one."
He said, then took out a military knife and a crowbar from his backpack, walked over and prepared to pry open the coffin lid.
Wen Baiyu was startled and said: "Wait a minute!"
Lü Lǎodà was startled and said: "Grass, a young whippersnapper, what are you yelling about?"
Wen Baiyu's face suddenly turned bad, and he glared at Lü Old Big. Who is the little white face? If you want to talk about a white face, then Wan Kuang Jing Hou's face is white! He himself looks very masculine, and what he hates most is being called Little White Face!
Wen Baiyu pointed to the altar in front of her with an air of discontent, saying: "I'm kind enough to remind you, look ahead, there's no dirt on the altar, and it seems to have been cleaned regularly. There are even fresh fruits on top. These coffins must be suspicious."
Lü Lao Da was startled and turned around to look at the altar.
As expected, behind the seven coffins was a large stone altar, on which were placed various items for worship. The most bizarre thing was that there were plates of fruit, all fresh and without any signs of rot or shrinkage.
Everyone was terrified looking at these fruits. Pengzi said: "Who... who the hell is still coming to worship them? Is it that Zongzi?"
Wen Baiyu said: "These coffins are too strange, they are not the main tomb chamber, but the coffins have not been damaged and people still offer sacrifices to them."
"There is an inscription!"
Shen Lin pointed at the coffin and said: "There is an inscription! Who recognizes it? Come take a look quickly! Does Zi Che recognize it?"
The little cart walked over, looked at it for half a day, shook its head and said: "I can only understand a few words sporadically, but I couldn't make sense of the whole thing."
Everyone was disappointed, and Lao Da looked at him suspiciously, sneering: "You little brat, are you trying to cheat us? Are you waiting for us to leave so you can swallow all the things in these coffins by yourself? Ha! I don't believe it, I won't let you get away with it!"
He said, and then used his military knife to pry open those coffins.
The young cart driver looked unhappy and said: "I'm telling the truth. The words on this are difficult to understand, I only know a little bit about it."
Lü Lǎodà ignored him, and the others also thought that Lü Lǎodà's suspicion was correct. After all, they were several groups of people, each with their own precautions and plans.
If it was Lü Laoda who opened the coffin, wouldn't that make him the only one? The other groups of people didn't want to be outdone either, so they rushed over and pried open the other coffins.
Wen Baiyu had a bad premonition in her heart, feeling that these coffins were extremely eerie and shouldn't be opened so rashly, and she involuntarily retreated several steps.
After he retreated, he saw that there were still words on the wall behind the altar. Although he couldn't quite understand these words, they seemed to be a family tree or a clan record of some sort.
He pulled Wan Jie Jing Hou to see those words, and Wan Jie Jing Hou couldn't understand either. He said: "It should be a family tree, maybe there is the identity of the tomb owner inside."
"Hey, four words, a compound surname?"
He said, Zi Che also noticed, walked over, scanned from top to bottom, then stared at the last row of words, where Wen Bai Yu was pointing, suddenly took a deep breath, and his face turned pale, as if he had been bitten by a spider.
"What's wrong?" said Wen Baiyu.
The child was still in a daze, shaking his head and muttering: "This is impossible."
Wen Baiyu felt more and more strange, Zi Che's expression was shocked, as if he had discovered something, not as if, but must have discovered something, and muttered: "This is impossible..."
He said that, suddenly turned his head and ran out, as if there was something urgent, Wen Baiyu called twice, the man didn't turn his head back, suddenly rushed out of the tomb chamber, running back to where they came from.
Wen Baiyu looked at it in confusion and said, "What to do?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou said: "No need to chase him, he will come back."
Wen Baiyu nodded slightly.
"Crack!"
At this moment, the coffin behind him suddenly made a "crack" sound and was actually pried open by Lü Dàdà.
Wen Baiyu suddenly turned around and looked at him.
Lü Lǎodà brutally lifted the coffin lid, and his eyes sparkled with excitement as he stared greedily at what was inside. He shouted: "My dear, I've made it! So many good things!"
As soon as he said that, others gathered around, and then there was another "bang" sound. Someone else at the back also pried open another coffin, and similarly let out an exclamation: "Damn, they're too rich!"
Lü Lǎodà suddenly reached in and pulled out a string of pearls, saying: "Look, take a look, this string is worth at least several million, the quality is so good, and it's not heavy, all can be put into the bag."
Wen Baiyu watched him reach out to grab it, and wasn't worried that there might be poison on it. Actually, Lao Da was also an old hand, but seeing so many good things, he couldn't care about worrying anymore.
Wen Baiyu also liked money, but the allure of money was apparently no match for his curiosity. He leaned in to take a look, wondering who was buried inside that grave.
Wen Baiyu suddenly regretted it, it was a mummy, although it was well preserved, but the skin had completely shrunk and tightly attached to the bones. The whole body was wax yellow with a reddish tint, the eyeballs were sunken, leaving two large cavities. Wen Baiyu really couldn't tell what kind of person this abstract mummy was.
However, this coffin has a lot of burial objects, all treasures are on the body, in the hands, in the mouth, under the feet, and even the gaps in the coffin are filled with treasures. If this is the person being buried, then their status must be very high.
Wen Baiyu looked on and suddenly let out a loud "Ah!"
Lü Lǎodà was actually not very brave, especially in the tomb. When Wēn Bái Yǔ let out a loud shout, he got scared and his liver almost shattered. His hand trembled and he accidentally threw the pearl back, which happened to fall right into the dry corpse's mouth.
Lü Lǎodà got angry at once, and fell into it, feeling so disgusted, but still had to make an effort to scoop him up.
Lü Lǎodà's face turned ugly, and he raised his fist to punch Wēn Bái Yǔ, but Wēn Bái Yǔ didn't have time to pay attention to him. He pointed at the corpse in the coffin and said: "It... it moved..."
Lü Lǎodà swallowed a mouthful of saliva and said: "Pfft! Don't think you can scare me... AHHHHH!!!"
He finished speaking, suddenly let out a sharp cry, and retreated two steps, "Bang" colliding with the coffin behind him. He trembled, pointing at the coffin just now, saying: "He...the corpse smiled!"
Everyone doesn't believe you, but if you say he's come back to life, they'll believe it. They just laugh and don't believe it. Who would be dug up from their grave and still be laughing? Isn't this a mental illness?!
Everyone poked their heads out, and they were all scared pale. Indeed, the corpse's mouth was open, with a green bead faintly visible inside, looking like a moldy tongue. The corners of its mouth were raised, clearly curled up, and its face revealed a sinister grin.
If this coffin is opened, the mummy will have this expression. Lü Dàgē would have been scared to death long ago and would definitely shoot him twice before reaching out to grab things.
Lü Lǎodà was so scared that he almost died. He suddenly picked up his gun and aimed at the zongzi, ready to fire. Péngzǐ stopped him, saying: "Don't! Don't shoot, let's take a look first, the body hasn't been unearthed yet. If you shoot like this, all the burial goods will be ruined!"
He said that, and Lao Da also felt reasonable, but suddenly shivered, turned his head to stare at Pengzi, saying: "What the hell are you blowing cold air at me!?"
Pengzi looked at him with an incredulous expression and said: "You're not a big girl, why are you blowing air at me? I'm sick!"
They said that, Shen Lin suddenly trembled, with a face as if he was about to faint, pointing at the place behind them. The others looked over and also had faces as if they were about to die, their eyes wide open, not daring to make a sound, pointing at the place behind them.
Wen Baiyu took a look, behind Lao Da and Pengzi, there was a coffin that had been pried open. The dry corpse inside didn't know when it had crawled out, its hands were resting on the edge of the coffin, its waist was bent, its head was lowered, and its mouth was curled up in a sinister smile. It was standing behind them, emitting a chilly aura, probably blown by the dry corpse...
Lü Lǎodà turned his head, and just happened to meet the two big eye sockets of the mummy. He let out a loud "Ahhh" and immediately fainted to the ground with a thud, scared unconscious!
Wen Bai's eyelid twitched, damn it, his guts are even smaller than mine, and he claims to be an old hand, usually so arrogant.
Pengzi's movements were quick and agile, continuously retreating several steps, taking aim at the zongzi. "Bang bang bang" several shots rang out, the zongzi was hit several times but didn't fall over.
Pengzi cursed and was about to raise his gun again when his shoulder was suddenly pinched by someone. He thought it was Wan Kuang Jing Hou, as only he could exert such force, but the fingers were too thin, so thin that they seemed to be able to pierce into his bones at any moment!
Wen Baiyu let out a "Hmph!" and took a deep breath, saying: "Pengzi, behind you!"
Pengzi suddenly felt something was wrong and knew he had been shouldered by the dumplings. He trembled as he looked at them, not daring to move.
Others were clearly the type to flee in times of crisis, and it wasn't worth risking their lives for Pengzi. They quickly dispersed, shouting: "Run! The corpse has risen!"
Pengzi cursed, feeling a sense of despair. At this moment, he heard a "whoosh" sound, and a bright spot with a cold light flashed by, piercing the dry corpse's scapula, striking it down, then passing through the second dry corpse's scapula.
"Cough, cough——!"
The corpse's mouth let out a furious roar, "Boom boom", and they all fell back into the coffin.
Wan Qi Jing Hou threw out the dagger and quickly ran over, kicking his foot, the coffin lid on the ground "hū——" a sound turned over, in mid-air spun around, was pressed down by Wan Qi Jing Hou with one hand, fiercely slammed it down, the dry corpse wanted to climb out, but was pressed under by Wan Qi Jing Hou, the coffin lid made a "dang dang!" sound.
Wan Xi Jinghou pressed down on a desiccated corpse, while another was about to crawl out of the coffin. Wan Xi Jinghou shouted: "Slam the lid shut, quickly!"
Pengzi was frightened, with a head full of cold sweat. Shen Lin was also stunned, while others were about to run away and watch the changes. Wen Baiyu scolded a sentence, then rushed up from behind and grabbed the lid on the ground.
He grunted, "Huh?" and cursed, this was too heavy. Just now, he saw Wang Qi Jing Hou kick the coffin board with ease, and it even flipped twice in mid-air, looking like a scene from a TV drama, especially handsome. But now, he couldn't even lift it up.
Wen Baiyu swallowed a mouthful of saliva, and the dry corpse had already climbed up. Although it hadn't crawled out of the coffin, standing up was enough to grab Wen Baiyu.
Wan Qi Jinghou wanted to let go and save Wen Baiyu, but as soon as he relaxed his grip slightly, the zongzi inside stretched out a hand to grab him. Wan Qi Jinghou had no choice but to press down again, causing the zongzi to shout "Ah!" loudly, its arm getting pinched between the coffin lid and the coffin itself.
Wan Kuang's face turned ugly, and he shouted: "Bai Yu, run!"
Wen Baiyu also wanted to run, but it seemed too late. He gritted his teeth, closed his eyes, and made an effort to grab the coffin board on the ground.
"Cough——!!"
Zongzi let out a loud roar and stretched out his hand to pounce on him. Wen Baiyu quickly picked up the coffin board from the ground and slapped it with all his might.
Then, a loud "Bang!!" echoed through the large tomb chamber, and the coffin lid landed right on the mummy's forehead. The mummy was knocked unconscious, its head spinning, and with a thud, it fell back into the coffin.
Wen Baiyu was startled and quickly covered the lid with force, panting heavily, coughing several times, saying: "My mom, I'm scared to death."
Wan Xi Jing Hou looked at him, first tense, then let out a sigh of relief and said: "You really are..."
He hadn't finished speaking when Wen Baiyu proudly said: "I'm really awesome, right?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou: "......"
Pengzi and Shen Lin reacted at this time, the others saw that Wan Jiahao and Wen Baiyu had subdued Zongzi, so they immediately rushed over, as if to help, and quickly took out heavier equipment from their backpacks to press down on the coffin lid.
After all, these people are no longer as dangerous as Wan Jieying Hou, and the road behind still needs to follow Wan Jieying Hou, can't disperse now.
Wen Baiyu glared at others with a bad temper, and Wan Jingshou patted his shoulder. Wen Baiyu said, "These people are too worldly."
His voice was not small, and others heard it too. Their faces looked very ugly, but they couldn't say anything. Everyone saw it all the way, and Wan Jie Jing Hou took great care of Wen Bai Yu, and didn't dare to say anything either.
Pengzi and Shen Lin felt a bit embarrassed at this time. Pengzi said, "Ah, sorry about that, Master Jing. I was just...I was startled silly earlier."
These two people still have some righteousness, and Wan Xi Jing Hou just shook his head and didn't say anything.
He walked over, picked up the dragon-scale dagger that had fallen on the ground, and then wiped off the bloodstains on it.
Just then, I suddenly heard "Bang... Bang..." sounds.
Everyone was in a state of tension, looking around in all directions.
Someone shouted loudly: "The altar...the altar is shaking, is it an earthquake?!"
As soon as he said that, everyone looked up at the top of the tomb, which was perfectly still. They also looked down at the stone slab on the ground, which was also perfectly still and hadn't moved an inch. If it had been an earthquake, the top of the tomb would have definitely shaken, and there wouldn't be any broken stones either. In fact, they couldn't even feel a slight tremor.
But the altar is indeed shaking...
The huge stone altar was shaking, initially it was just a slight vibration, but later it shook more and more violently, the offerings on top began to tremble, making "clattering" sounds, then things started falling off.
"Ah..."
A faint sound, and the altar suddenly began to crack, as if it was about to shatter.
Everyone was unaware of what had happened. A person standing relatively close suddenly widened their eyes and said, "St...there's something inside the stone!"
As soon as he said that, everyone looked over and saw that the stone altar had cracked open a seam, and inside was actually something. This wasn't an ordinary altar, but a stone coffin!
The stone outside is just a shell, inside it's filled with genuine living things!
But looking at its shape, it doesn't seem like a human either.
"Crack! Crack......"
The stone slowly cracked open, and inside, a huge eyeball was exposed.
Lü Lǎodà had just woken up and saw that eyeball, he was stunned for a moment, then heard the sticky sound of water, and that eyeball actually turned around, its conical eye socket like a slit staring at Lü Lǎodà.
Lü Lǎodà let out a loud "Ah——" and fainted again...
Pengzi took a step back, trembling, and the crowd gathered around Wan Qi Jinghou, holding their guns, making preparations for battle.
"Wen Baiyu said: "This... what is this thing, with eyes so big?!""
He had just finished speaking when the stone "cracked" open another slit, and out came an eyeball. Then with a "slap", another eyeball...
The stones slowly cracked open, and the huge altar turned into scattered stone blocks on the ground. The things hidden in the stones gradually showed their original shape.
It was a huge snake with nine human heads, no wonder there were so many eyeballs.
Pengzi shouted loudly: "Mom! What... what kind of monster is this?!"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou grabbed Wen Bai Yu and said: "It's Director Liu, don't force it, withdraw."
Everyone's face changed color upon hearing this. Some people didn't know what a Xiangliu was, but Wan Kui Jinghou had already said not to force a fight, as they would definitely lose. So they all held their weapons and retreated backwards. Those with smaller guts immediately turned around and ran away.
He ran, and the wild nature of Xiang Liu seemed to be instantly triggered. Suddenly, nine heads rose up, emitting a glow in their eyes, making a "hissing" sound, and lowering their heads.
"Run quickly!!"
It's unclear who shouted, but everyone turned around and ran back, running desperately.
Xiang Liu's physique was extremely large and violent, chasing them all the way. They ran ten steps but couldn't catch up with Xiang Liu's one leap forward, the gap was too big, it was very desperate.
Wen Baiyu was dragged forward by Wan Kuang Jinghou, panting and saying: "It's too strange! This weird snake, how...how is it playing with us? It had several chances to eat us!"
He said that, and everyone else thought so too. Considering the speed at which the snake was crawling, plus its size, these people wouldn't even be enough for nine of its meals.
While others were like driving them away, they didn't rush to enjoy.
Someone behind shouted: "Let's split up and run!"
Although everyone thinks it's not wise to run separately, they might get lost after all, this ancient tomb is too big, but running separately increases the chances of survival a bit, everyone thinks that maybe Xiang Liu won't chase himself.
In front of them was a fork in the road, and everyone dispersed. As expected, Xiang Liu stopped for a moment before running towards Wen Baiyu and Wan Kui Jinghou's path.
Wen Baiyu turned his head and cursed: "Damn it! What's going on with this Xiang Liu!"
Xiang Liu spat out a letter, shouting loudly, with eyes shining brightly, chasing after them in a mad dash.
Wen Baiyu felt like she was numb from running, and continuing like this wasn't a solution.
Wan Kuang Jing Hou suddenly shouted: "Be careful!"
Wen Baiyu only felt a tightness in her ankle, and suddenly Xiang Liu rolled over, Wen Baiyu was tripped up, and with a thud she fell to the ground, scraping her chin so badly that it started bleeding. Fortunately, none of her teeth were knocked out, or else she would have had to go to the dental hospital for a set of false teeth!
Wen Baiyu was caught off guard and couldn't dodge, so he was grabbed by Wan Jie Jinghou. Just as this happened, Xiang Liu crawled over, and Wan Jie Jinghou's dragon-scale dagger flashed out instantly. With a "slap" sound, Xiang Liu let out a loud roar of "hiss——", and a huge scale was cut off by Wan Jie Jinghou in one slash, falling to the ground and splashing up a pool of blood.
The snake suddenly became furious, spitting out its tongue continuously and swinging its tail.
"Boom!"
Wen Baiyu was hugged in the arms of Wan Kuang Jing Hou, when suddenly a snake tail struck over, with great force. Wen Baiyu only felt dizzy for a moment, and then her whole body flew out.
Wan Ji Jing Hou tightly held him in his arms and with a "thud" fell to the ground, rolling forward along the force of the impact.
Wen Baiyu heard Wan Kuang Jinghou's muffled grunt and opened his tense eyes, saying: "How are you?"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou shook his head, pulled up Wen Bai Yu and said: "Let's go."
Xiang Liu swept them away, temporarily pulling open a distance. Wen Baiyu was pulled by him and felt a warmth in his hand. He looked down to see that it was blood. Wan Kuang Jinghou had lost a lot of blood.
Xiang Liu suddenly turned around and chased after him again. Suddenly, a black shadow darted over, and Xiang Liu let out a loud "Hiss---" cry, seemingly injured.
"Come with me!"
A voice rang out, Wen Baiyu looked up and it was actually Zi Che.
The little cart's face turned pale and he shouted again: "Follow me!"
Wen Baiyu and Wan Kui Jinghou followed closely behind the child's carriage, running all the way to a tomb chamber. The inside was filled with foul odors, but Wen Baiyu didn't have time to look at this anymore.
After they ran in, the child suddenly raised his hand and slapped the wall twice. With a loud rumble, the iron net fell from the top like a tomb gate, and with a "bang" sound, it isolated the inside and outside of the tomb chamber.
Xiang Liu had already chased over, but was blocked by the iron net outside. The nine heads desperately tried to drill into the iron net, and the huge fangs tore at the iron net, but it didn't work at all. The iron net seemed extremely powerful. Xiang Liu started to desperately collide with the iron net again, but the iron net only trembled a few times, and was exceptionally firm, unable to be knocked open.
"Bang! Bang-bang! Bang!"
The willow tree refused to give up, desperately crashing against the iron net, as the stinky cicadas crawled in from outside and swayed back and forth.
"Be careful!"
Wen Baiyu shouted, the stroller was too close to the iron fence.
The child retreated a few steps, suddenly raised the gun, "bang bang" two shots, the bullets flew out, just hitting Xiang Liu's head. Xiang Liu's skin was thick, but his head was relatively soft, and the bullet broke through his skin, bleeding instantly, although not fatal, it was also a warning.
The snakes were watching them vigilantly, no longer colliding with the iron net, but instead crawling back and forth outside the tomb, seemingly trying to find a way in.
Wen Baiyu let out a sigh of relief, and was almost scared to death. He then thought of Wan Kuang Jing Hou's injury, and immediately took out some gauze from his backpack. Wan Kuang Jing Hou's arm had been cut by a rock when he fell, leaving a big gash that bled profusely, with blood flowing all the way down to his hand.
Wen Baiyu cleaned him up and wrapped him in gauze, only then did everyone look around cautiously.
The huge tomb chamber was filled with a foul odor that made one's hair stand on end.
They looked up and saw that in the tomb, there was a coffin, but it had already been dismantled. The coffin boards were scattered all over the place, and one side of the coffin was missing, leaving the corpse inside exposed, as if it had been deliberately left to rot.
The body looked well-preserved before it was exposed...
But now it's already rotten, with half of its chin missing and fallen off to the side, its arms and legs are all broken, twisted into a grotesque shape, as if bearing some deep grudge.
There were many burial objects on the corpse, scattered all over the ground, jade beads rolling everywhere. Many barbaric tomb robbers wouldn't notice the corpse when they were fighting, and would strip it naked and throw it away, or dismember it to see if there was anything hidden inside - examples of this are countless. However, this doesn't seem like something a tomb robber would do either.
Because nothing was missing and everything was scattered on the ground, it seemed that the person who exposed the body was not interested in valuables.
Next to the coffin was a huge dan furnace, Wen Baiyu exclaimed: "This tomb is so strange, it looks like the main tomb, but why would the tomb owner be obsessed with alchemy and put the dan furnace here? Wanting to live forever?"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou swept a glance over the entire tomb chamber and turned his head to ask Zi Che: "How did you know there was a mechanism there?"
The child paused for a moment, looked up at him, but didn't speak right away.
Wan Xi Jing Hou seemed to not want him to answer and asked again: "Those few minutes you disappeared earlier, who were you with?"
The child's eyes were slightly flustered, and he pursed his lips, but still didn't speak.
Wan Qi Jing Hou continued, his tone somewhat overbearing, "You may not be able to read the inscription in the tomb, but you can read the family tree. What does it say? Why don't you speak up?"
The child took a step back when he was asked by him, and his eyes became even more flustered.
Wan Kuang Jing Hou said again: "Who was it that made everyone dizzy in the tent yesterday?"
The little cart's eyes widened in surprise as he stared at him and said: "You... you knew all along?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou smiled lightly and said: "Right, I knew it long ago."
The young master was shocked and speechless, only feeling a chill wash over him, thinking that Wan Kuang's style was unpredictable and impossible to fathom.
Wan Kui Jing Hou's attitude was very leisurely, and he said: "Xue Bo is your adoptive father, but you pretend not to know him. What is the purpose of this?"
"Wen Baiyu said in surprise: "Wait... wait, Xue Bo is his adoptive father? And the one who fired the shot was also Xue Bo? What's going on here, I'm all confused.""
The child suddenly felt somewhat relieved and said: "Yes, he is."
Wen Baiyu was even more shocked, but Zi Che suddenly pounced forward and violently knocked Wen Baiyu to the ground. Wen Baiyu had no chance of close combat with him and was immediately pinned down, gritting his teeth in pain.
Wen Baiyu glared with her eyes wide open, staring at Zi Che who was pressing down on her and said: "What are you doing?!"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou narrowed his eyes, and Zi Che held a gun against Wen Bai Yu's temple, saying: "I don't want to make things difficult for you, I want the other two bronze boxes, hand them over, and I'll let Wen Bai Yu go."
Wan Xi Jing Hou narrowed his eyes and said coldly: "What do you want the bronze box for?"
The child held his breath, his eyes very cold, and said: "I don't know! Hand over the box, you hand it over to me, I'll let you go."
Wan Kuang Jing Hou smiled lightly and said, "However, your adoptive father didn't say it that way."
The child's car shook slightly, and his lips trembled.
Wan Qi Jing Hou said faintly: "He wants the bronze box and also wants my life, how can you let us go?"
The little cart's eyes flickered, and he calmed down, saying: "I never lie. You give me the bronze box, and I'll let you go."
Wan Qi Jing Hou didn't say a word, but instead took out a box from his backpack, gently shook it, and said: "The bronze box has been opened, what you want is inside. I'll give it to you, let Wen Bai Yu go."
He said, stretching out his hand and tossing the box over.
Wen Baiyu's eyes widened as he stared at the box that had been thrown over, and Zi Che held a gun to Wen Baiyu with one hand while reaching out to catch it with the other. After catching it, he shook it slightly, and there was a heavy, rustling sound coming from inside.
The child didn't have time to open it, took a deep breath, the gun head trembled, just about to leave Wen Baiyu, suddenly the stone wall of the tomb shook slightly, and then an iron cage suddenly fell from the sky, "Bang" The sound hit down, just trapping Wan Kuang Jing Hou inside.
Wen Baiyu shouted, ignoring the guns of the child car, suddenly got up from the ground, ran over, grabbed the railing of the cage, shook it hard and said: "You don't keep your word! We've already given you the things!"
The little cart looked around nervously and said, "I didn't..."
Before he could finish speaking, the stone wall of the tomb had completely split open, and Xue Bai walked out from inside. He had a gentle smile on his face, and his suit made him look very gentlemanly.
He walked in, coldly gazing at the Wan Qi Jing Hou locked in the cage, then went to look at Zi Che, smiled and walked over, gently stroking Zi Che's cheek, saying: "Good child, well done."
The child took a deep breath and stepped back.
Xue Bai said: "The rest of the things, you don't need to worry about them anymore. Your adoptive father knows that you are softhearted and doesn't require your intervention."
Xue Bai looked at Wan Qi Jing Hou with a cold eye, smiled and said: "You also have today."
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "I don't know you."
Xue Bai said: "You don't have to know me at all."
Wan Kuang looked calm and said: "However, if you want to kill me, at least let me know what the reason is."
Xue Bai burst out laughing, seemingly finding it very amusing, and said: "Anyway, we're all going to die."
Wan Kuang Jing Hou suddenly said: "I'm afraid the one with the surname Zi Che is not him, it's you."
Xue Bai was taken aback for a moment and said: "You're very clever, what you said is right."
Wen Baiyu was slightly surprised, it turned out that this person's surname was Ziche.
Wan Xi Jing Hou looked very leisurely, not a bit tense from being locked up, and said calmly: "In the tomb chamber just now, Bai Yu told me that the paintings on the rock wall seemed familiar. Thinking about it, they really are familiar, because the one in the painting is you."
Wen Baiyu was reminded of this and immediately looked at Xue Bo, his surprise was beyond words, indeed very similar, only more than Xue Bo had always put on a gentle appearance, the temperament was not like him at all, now that he had shed his disguise, he looked even more alike.
Wan Qi Jinghou continued: "Just now in the tomb chamber of the seven coffins, Ziche saw the genealogy on the wall and walked away in shock. Although I don't recognize the characters on it, if I'm not mistaken, what's written there should be...Ziche Xue Bai."
Xue Bai nodded and smiled, saying: "Not bad."
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "Thinking about it, the entire Zi Che clan is buried here, leaving an empty coffin, which actually belongs to you. You want to kill me, but I don't remember having any grudges with you. It's clear that you're trying to vent your anger. Looking at that person who died a miserable death, they seem to have some connection with me."
Xue Bai laughed and said, "Still not bad, you all guessed correctly. You indeed have no feud with me, but your ancestors buried the Zi Che clan alive. This vendetta cannot be repaid by just one person. I also want to exterminate your entire clan."
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "You came out of the grave, presumably the escape tunnel was dug by you, and those corpses piled up outside the escape tunnel were also hoarded by you."
Xue Bai sneered and said, "Yes, it's true that I've been hoarding, you're right. I crawled out of the coffin to avenge myself, but what you don't know is that I'm not a dead person or a zombie, I'm a living person. Since I'm still alive, I naturally need food. But how can there be food in the grave? To avenge myself, I can do anything, let alone eat some corpses."
As soon as he said that, Wen Baiyu suddenly remembered the tooth marks on the white bones and felt nauseous to the point of vomiting. Xue Bo crawled out of the coffin, eating these corpses? This is too determined.
However, Xue Bai said he was a living person, which made Wen Baiyu incomprehensible. Who can live for so long? He glanced at the dan furnace next to him and suddenly opened his eyes wide. Maybe Xue Bai had an elixir of immortality, who knows.
Xue Bai smiled, his face somewhat ferocious, and said: "You already know everything, unfortunately... Don't worry, after killing you, I will have avenged myself, and I can leave your body intact."
Wan Xi Jing Hou raised an eyebrow and said: " 'Also count'? Then who else is there besides me?"
The child's eyes widened suddenly, looking at Xue Bai, trembling and saying: "Is... is it me?"
Xue Bai didn't say anything, just said: "Good child, your matter has been done, go upstairs and wait for your adoptive father."
Wen Baiyu saw Xue Bo slowly raise his gun and block it in front of Wan Kuang Jinghou.
Wan Kuang's hand stretched out from the cage and grabbed Wen Baiyu's shoulder, saying: "What are you doing!"
Wen Baiyu said: "Mind your own business."
Wan Xi Jing Hou grasped his hand, which had turned somewhat pale, and lowered his voice to say: "Don't worry about me, it's fine. He can't kill me, you can rest assured."
Wen Baiyu shook his head vigorously and blocked Wan Kuang's way, refusing to budge.
Xue Bai smiled and said, "I don't want to kill him, but if he insists on accompanying you in death, I have no objections."
He said, suddenly pulling the trigger, "Bang" a sound, Wen Baiyu closed his eyes, and suddenly felt a warm blood splashing on his face, he was startled, and then suddenly opened his eyes again.
There was a loud thud, and it seemed like something had fallen to the ground. Xue Bai's eyes widened as he saw Zi Che's figure blocking his view, then swaying before suddenly kneeling down on the ground.
The child stretched out his hand to cover his chest, and his hands were full of blood. He stared at Xue Bai with wide eyes.
Xue Bai was stunned for a moment, then suddenly rushed up, shouting: "What are you doing! Who let you come over suddenly! Where is the injury, don't move..."
The child covered his chest, fresh blood gushing out from inside, his throat trembling, tightly grasping Xue Bai's clothes, two bloody handprints instantly pressed onto his arm.
The child said: "You tell me, am I another... Am I..."
Xue Bai didn't say a word, he just covered his wound with his hand and said: "Don't talk anymore, good child, your adoptive father will take you away..."
The child shook his head.
Wen Baiyu was stunned, he didn't expect Zi Che to suddenly rush over, but Wan Kuang Jing Hou looked very calm and said: "It's you."
The child's eyes widened suddenly, and Wan Xi Jing Hou said: "Although I don't know the beginning or end of it either, but as Bai Yu said, looking so alike can only be blood relatives apart from the person themselves."
The child smiled, his face turned pale, and he trembled as he said: "So that's how it is... You've raised me all this time, never letting me ask... It was all just waiting for me and my family to slaughter each other... I finally understand..."
He said, his eyes reddened, biting his lips tightly, his throat moving up and down, as if enduring something.
Xue Bai didn't say a word and suddenly calmed down again, looking at the child in his arms.
The child's car let out a bitter laugh, and his breathing was already somewhat difficult.
Wen Baiyu rushed over and pushed Xue Bo away, shouting: "What are you staring at? Hurry up and save him!"
Xue Bai didn't move, Wen Baiyu said: "You've raised him for so many years! He's willing to die for you, and doesn't even care about his own life, shouldn't there be some feelings between you two?"
Wen Baiyu supported the child's carriage, and the child's body began to convulse. His face was as white as paper, but he looked very peaceful. Wen Baiyu's eyes reddened, and she quickly took out something from her backpack to stop his bleeding. However, the blood seemed unstoppable, and everything turned red in an instant.
Just as Xue Bai was stunned, a "click" sound suddenly came out. Everyone looked up and saw that Wan Kuang Jing Hou grabbed the railing with both hands, and with a split of his two hands, he bent the two iron railings like opening a door, and easily walked out from inside.
Xue Bai furrowed his brow and looked at him as he walked out from inside, saying: "You weren't trapped in the first place."
Wan Qi Jing Hou glanced at him faintly and then squatted down to press on the neck of the child.
Wen Baiyu saw Zi Che's car stop and said: "How is it? Is there still a chance?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "There is still a pulse, but it's almost hopeless."
Xue Bai looked at him coldly and said, "Can you save him?"
Wan Kuang Jing Hou nodded, but did not move immediately.
Xue Bai said: "Do you want to negotiate terms?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "Anyway, he is a dog you raised, whether to save him or not depends on you. I want the bronze box in your hand."
Xue Bai stood up, his hands covered in blood, not his own, but Zi Che's, which was gushing out of his chest. His chest heaved rapidly once, as if thinking, and then narrowed his eyes to stare at Wan Kuang Jing Hou.
Wen Baiyu's hands were shaking, she looked at Wan Jiahui and then at Xue Bo, the lives of these two people were at stake, but neither of them said a word.
Wan Qi Jing Hou gently patted the back of Wen Bai Yu's hand, indicating that he didn't need to rush. Wen Bai Yu was a bit calmer after being patted by him, it seemed that Wan Qi Jing Hou had confidence in this matter.
Xue Bai paused for a long time. Wan Qi Jing Hou repeated himself and said: "I want the bronze box in your hand."
Xue Bai let out a sigh, as if he had given up on something, and suddenly took out the bronze box, stretched out his hand and threw it to the ground with a "clatter".
Wan Kuang Jing Hou put the bronze box into his backpack, Xue Bai stared with his eyes, his eyeballs already had a lot of bloodshot, almost roaring, saying: "You said you would save him."
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "Don't worry, I never go back on my word."
He said, and drew a line on his own palm, the blood flowed into Zi Che's mouth along with his words. Although Zi Che was still unconscious, his face soon showed some red glow. Wan Qi Jing Hou dripped his own blood onto his chest wound, and the wound began to heal gradually.
"First stop the bleeding, then send him to the hospital and have the bullet removed."
Wen Baiyu nodded, and the box that Wang Qiying had just thrown over was opened again. Inside were two, but they only got one. Thinking about it, it seemed like a big loss!
Xue Bai had already picked up the box that Zi Che had dropped on the ground, Wen Baiyu opened her eyes wide to grab it, but was pulled back by Wan Qi Jing Hou.
Wen Baiyu said: "What are you doing, not letting me rob?"
Wan Xi Jing Hou shook his head and whispered in his ear: "Don't worry, it's not true."
Wen Baiyu let out a sigh of relief and said, "What's inside?"
Wan Qi Jing Hou raised an eyebrow and smiled: "It was a precious thing when we were burying him."
Wen Baiyu couldn't think of what it was, but Xue Bo had already opened the box with a "click", and his face immediately turned gloomy, seemingly extremely angry, yet unable to erupt, he flung the box to the ground.
Wen Baiyu took a look and cursed in her heart, feeling that this joke was too cold. The box actually contained two compressed biscuits!
And there's another one that's been eaten halfway through...
No wonder Xue Bai was so angry, it turned out that he had been fooled by Wan Kuang Jing Hou all along.
The child woke up soon, his face turned rosy and he was no longer in danger. Xue Bai seemed to let out a sigh of relief but didn't come forward, just standing at a distance.
The child struggled to get up from the ground, Wen Baiyu wanted to help him, but this kid was very stubborn, waved his hand and stood up with difficulty while holding his chest.
Wan Qi Jing Hou said: "The thing has been taken, let's go out."
Wen Baiyu nodded slightly and suddenly exclaimed "huh", she hadn't noticed earlier that the willow tree outside the iron fence had disappeared, no one knew when it had run away.
Wen Baiyu walked over and took a look, but didn't dare to go too far forward. Zi Che covered his chest with his hand, his voice very weak, saying: "There's a mechanism on the wall that can open the iron net."
He had just said that, Xue Bai suddenly rushed up, because of his attitude just now, everyone was more or less on guard against him, but Xue Bai suddenly pushed Zi Che away.
Just then, a loud roar of "hiss——" was heard, and Xiang Liu suddenly drilled into the stone wall crack of the tomb from the outside. One head bit open the coffin lid and grabbed Xue Bai, "Ka Ba" sound, as if biting off something, a piece of blood flowed down, and then quickly drilled back into the stone wall crack...
Wen Baiyu was stunned, paused for a moment, and said: "Xiang Liu?!"
The little cart's eyes widened in shock, its whole body trembling as it suddenly took off and dashed towards the crack in the stone wall, disappearing into the darkness.
"What should we do?" said Wen Baiyu.
Wan Kuang Jing Hou's eyes narrowed and he said, "Pursue."
