Five months ter, Noelia woke up in the middle of the night. He looked around and moved his hand but somethi missing. He looked over and saw Maria wasn’t in the bed. He could’ve sworn that Maria was sleepio him. Noelia searched around the house but found no signs of her. He began to panic as he couldn’t find a sirace of her.

  He alerted his mother about Maria’s disappearahe two tinued searg for her, they checked outside and the results were the same. He didn’t know what to do as his mind was in a state of panic. Rosa instructed Noelia to try tag Norris.

  “NORRIS! NORRIS! MARIA’S MISSING!!” Noelia said panigly on the phone.

  “ you not scream in the middle of the night?” Norris replied.

  “Maria’s missing and I couldn’t find her anywhere! I even checked outside,” said Noelia. Noelia’s panig voice had woken up Elena from her sleep.

  “Is something wrong, dear?” Elena asked Norris.

  “Not sure, your little brother seemed to be in a panic. He said his wife was missing,” Norris answered.

  “What?!” Elena asked in shock. “Give me the phone.” Norris hahe phoo Elena.

  “Hello?” said Elena. “Noelia, what’s wrong?”

  “Elena, Maria’s missing!” Noelia replied.

  “How?! This is so sudden,” said Elena fusedly.

  “I don’t know! When I woke up she wasn’t o me. I searched all over the house and couldn’t find her,” said Noelia, even more panicked.

  “Alright calm down and take a deep breath. How about you try to file for a missing person to the police where Norris works in the m,” Elena suggested.

  The day after Maria's disappearanoelia went to the police station and filed for a missing person. Norris and his team were dispatched to seararia and find clues regarding her. Unfortunately, they couldn’t uncover her traces. All they found was a letter from Maria, they gave it to Noelia so he could read it himself.

  As the letter read :

  “I hope you five me, Noelia but I’m afraid I must leave you with the kids. I don’t think it would be safe for you with me around. I’m sorry that I ’t tell you the reason because it could be unwise and I ’t do anything about it, so I have to leave. I hope you uand, my love.”

  Noelia couldn’t believe what he read, he didn’t uand what she meant. He wondered what Maria couldn’t do and why she would be a dao the family. He sat down with the feeling of despair and hopelessness.

  “I’m sorry, Noelia. This is all we do for now,” Norris apologized.

  Noelia just sat quietly not responding to Norris. Norris uood Noelia’s situatioted Noelia’s shoulder as a sign of his dolences. a him aloears could be seen flowing out from Noelia’s cheeks.

  When things couldn’t get worse, Noelia’s eldest child Enrique suddenly disappeared. Noelia broke down as he lost two of his family members and filed for a missing person again. Noelia’s mind was left shuffled in thoughts. How could he have lost them so quickly? It felt really sudden and even more fusing was how a five year-old could mao do that.

  Noelia then broke down in tears, he puhe wall with agony. He untrolbly threw and wrecked objects around him. The bedroom turned into a mess with broken objects scattered around.. The frustration and misery had got into him.

  “Why God?!?! Why do they have to be taken from me!!” he yelled while throwing things around.

  Rosa heard the otion and saw her son. Rosa rushed to her and asked him to stop or the children would be woken up. Noelia didn’t listen and tio wreck things, Rosa couldn’t stop him so she called her children. Noelia’s elder siblings rushed to stop him. They retained Noelia and tried to calm him down.

  “Stop it, Noelia!” said Sebastian, holding him.

  Noelia calmed down and the siblings let go. Rosa forted her son telling her son to lose hope and surely they would find something. Noelia didn’t know what to do anymore, he fell on to his knees feeliroyed.

  “This is not good…” said Manuel.

  “Yeah, how could a five year-old pull a stunt like this,” said Sebastian.

  “Don’t worry, Noelia. We’re here for you,” said Elena, hugging Noelia tightly.

  Noelia bursted into tears, grieving about the disappearance of his wife and son. It was too much for him to bear. His siblings and mother forted him more.

  Noelia didn’t work for days, he was still m and couldn’t have the energy to do work. His body and mi numb, Noelia couldn’t care to look at anyone. He would only stare at the picture of his missing wife and son.

  Noelia got out from his bedroom to the bathroom to uri then he saw his two younger children a something from his heart. A feeling of hope and desire to care for them. Noelia realized that he still had a family. Noelia took a deep breath and prepared to open a neter of his life, one caused by sorrow but transformed into determination.

  After the disappearanaria and Enrique, Noelia lost his wife as well as his son and became a siher. Being a siher was a real challenge for Noelia both physically aally. However, he would give his all for the sake of Sofia and Julio.
