You knew too much

In open-world PK (Player Killing), even novice players will accumulate Infamy Points. If the initiator of the PK kills their opponent, their Infamy Points increase by 1. However, if the defender retaliates and kills their attacker, they will not gain any Infamy Points. The higher one's Infamy Points, the harsher the death penalty.

Infamy Points decrease automatically over time, with 1 point deducted every 5 hours while in the wild. If Infamy Points exceed 10, the player will be wanted by city guards, and upon entering a city, they will be arrested and imprisoned. While in jail, Infamy Points decrease at a rate of 1 per hour. Additionally, Infamy Points can be cleared with money, but the cost is exorbitant—1,000 gold coins to remove a single point of Infamy.

Players below level 10 will not suffer level or experience loss upon death, but they will drop equipment and even in-game currency.

Ye Tianxie didn't attack the shield warrior in front of him. Instead, with a subtle yet unpredictable footwork, he weaved between the shield warrior and the swordsman, leaping forward and slashing at the apprentice mage who was preparing to hurl a magic projectile at him. The combined reach of his Eternal Destiny blade and his arm extended his attack range to a full two meters. The apprentice mage barely caught sight of a dark shadow before a sharp pain seared across his throat.

A striking red damage number, "-196," floated above his head. His mere 90 HP was instantly reduced to zero. His widened eyes remained frozen in shock as his body collapsed lifelessly to the ground.

  A critical hit—again!

  An instant kill!

An instant kill occurring during the early-game phase of the novice village PK scene was practically unheard of. While such feats might be common in the later stages of the game, when players' strength varied significantly, witnessing an instant kill at this stage—where everyone had just started—was absolutely mind-blowing.

As the remaining three were still reeling in shock, Ye Tianxie’s next attack had already arrived. His blade swept across both the apprentice shield warrior and the apprentice swordsman. The two snapped back to reality and instinctively retaliated with their only available attack skills. However, the colossal damage numbers Ye Tianxie had just dealt left them shaken, even as their greed intensified.

Such overwhelming attack power at the current beginner phase could only be described as "broken". There was no doubt that this level of destruction stemmed from his extraordinary, otherworldly weapon.

It was as if Ye Tianxie had predicted their moves in advance. With precise control, he leaned back slightly—just enough to dodge their strikes by a hair’s breadth. At the same time, he swiftly retracted Eternal Destiny, causing the apprentice swordsman’s greatsword and the shield warrior’s one-handed sword to pierce through the air—barely missing his chest. Their blades stopped just inches away, as if this evasion had been meticulously calculated.

A whistling arrow shot past Ye Tianxie’s ear. His heightened reflexes and sharpened senses, far surpassing that of ordinary players, allowed his body to instinctively react to danger without even consciously focusing. In a flash, Eternal Destinyswung once more.

Two crimson damage numbers popped up.

The apprentice swordsman’s HP dropped to zero in an instant, his body dissolving into a streak of white light as he was sent back to the novice village.

Hongye Ironwall’s face turned pale. He hastily took a step back, but before he could move any further, Ye Tianxie had already closed the distance between them. A dark silhouette expanded rapidly in the apprentice shield warrior’s pupils—before his vision was consumed by darkness.

In the blink of an eye, two more players had fallen under Ye Tianxie’s blade.

The apprentice archer, hiding behind a rock, was the only one left. Watching his teammates perish one after another in mere seconds, he froze in terror. When he finally snapped back to reality and attempted to flee, Ye Tianxie had already appeared before him, his massive weapon poised to strike.

  “AHHHH!!”

A bloodcurdling scream echoed through the air. Ye Tianxie paused his attack, watching as the apprentice archer collapsed to the ground in fright. His face was pale as he pleaded desperately, “P-Please spare me, big bro! I’ll give you all my equipment—just don’t kill me!”

His exaggerated reaction piqued Ye Tianxie’s interest. With an amused smirk, he asked, “Are you scared of dying? Just now, you seemed to be shooting your arrows quite happily.”

Death under level 10 wouldn’t cause level drops, and even if it did, he was only level 3—he could regain the lost experience in just half an hour. There was no reason to be this terrified. However, this unfortunate Hongye Allianceplayer had foolishly set his pain perception to 100% real-life simulation when first entering the game. That meant Ye Tianxie’s attack would feel exactly like getting slashed in reality. He had regretted this decision from the moment he started playing—but fate offered no chance for a reset.

Ye Tianxie watched his terrified expression with great amusement. Slowly lowering Eternal Destiny, he said, “Alright, I’m actually a merciful person. Even though you guys broke your promise and attacked me first, I won’t kill you indiscriminately… Here’s a deal—if you can answer one question to my satisfaction, I’ll let you go.”

The apprentice archer’s face brightened with hope, and he nodded frantically. “Thank you, big bro! Ask away! I’ll tell you anything I know.”

Ye Tianxie lightly traced his finger along Eternal Destiny’s blade, speaking casually.

  “Am I good-looking?”

“Uh… Of course! Big bro, you’re the most handsome person I’ve ever seen!” The apprentice archer nodded fervently. At this moment, even if Ye Tianxie were a pig falling from the sky, he would have to flatter him without hesitation.

  SHIIING!

A black arc of light slashed across the apprentice archer’s body, followed by a gut-wrenching scream.

  Another critical hit.

  Another instant kill.

His corpse vanished into a white light, joining his ill-fated teammates on their return to the novice village.

Ye Tianxie straightened up, gazing toward the desolate north with a deep, enigmatic look in his eyes. Letting out a soft sigh, he murmured:

  "You knew too much."

Walking over to the Giant Direwolf’s corpse, Ye Tianxie picked up three recovery potions and a scattering of coins. But when he counted the amount, he couldn’t help but be stunned.

This three-star elite boss had actually dropped a full fifty copper coins!

Converting to Huaxia currency… that was a whole five cents! A fortune!

Pocketing the massive five-cent windfall, Ye Tianxie finally examined the three pieces of equipment dropped by the Giant Direwolf:

Crafted from Giant Direwolf hide, offering moderate flexibility.

  Ye Tianxie’s smirk deepened.

  A promising start.
