Chapter 34: Teaching People How to Choose
It's so hot for six days in a row, and he still wants to cover himself with a quilt. I couldn't help but shake my head, it seems they have completely ignored physical therapy, or maybe they just don't understand.
"Are you being so careful just because you have to?" Just as I was about to turn off the lights, Song Tang said this in a low voice from behind me. I turned my head and saw that under the dim yellow light, his eyes were shining brightly, staring at me intently: "If your family didn't force you, would you not take care of me like this?"
I let out a sigh, it seemed that this child needed guidance. So I walked up to him with a serious and concerned expression, tucked in his bed corners for him, and said in a knowing tone: "Second Young Master, there are two mistakes in your question itself."
He frowned, and I didn't rush to explain: "Firstly, if my family hadn't forced me, this thing would have happened already. Secondly, whether or not I took care of you because I wanted to leave is fundamentally a non-issue."
"Why?" he asked, curiously like a baby.
"You need to take care of me, I want to leave, to leave with dignity. We're just taking what we need from each other, there's nothing wrong with that." My straightforward analysis: "And as a normal person, everyone has their own selfishness. I'm taking care of you, aside from it being my duty, I also have selfish motives, I admit it."
I don't know if it's too early to say such things to a twelve-year-old boy, but he actually fell silent, and his slanted, long eyelashes seemed deep and charming. I continued: "Besides, my family only forced me to marry you, they didn't force me to take care of you!"
"So why did you tell me your true feelings after just knowing me for a day? And that you want to leave?" He asked me quietly.
I let out a light laugh, thinking for a moment: "Intuition, from the moment I saw you, I had this feeling that you wouldn't betray me." I paused and continued: "Besides, you've already admitted it yourself, you didn't really want to marry me. Maybe saying this out loud will make you realize that your thoughts are the same as mine."
He gazed at me deeply and after a while, he said: "You are truly a different kind of woman. Your words are too straightforward, so straightforward that it's impossible to find any fault in them."
