Chapter Twenty-Five: The Mysterious Black Rock
Ling Wushuang wrung out her hair while lost in thought, unable to think of a reason for a long time. She gave up thinking about it and instead glanced around, slightly narrowing her eyes, as if she could sense the extraordinary aura of this shallow spring. This place must have a spiritual vein.
The little "chirp" thing is jumping and playing in the water, baring its teeth and waving its claws.
"What's wrong?" Ling Wu Xuan stood up, shook off the water droplets on his body, lowered his eyebrows and glanced at him lightly, saying with a mixture of laughter and tears: "One bite is not enough, do you want to bite me again?"
The little red ball stood up on its hind legs, its front paws pointing in a certain direction, and let out two chirps. Water splashed everywhere as it jumped towards a thicket of bushes near the cliff, and then suddenly disappeared into the underbrush. Ling Wu Shuang crossed her arms over her chest, and amidst the rippling water, she stepped out wearing white boots that were stained with milk-white spring water. She followed closely behind, wondering what this little thing was up to.
Lowering her head, she skirted around a thorny shrub that was about half the height of a person. Ling Wu Xiang reached out to tug at the strands of hair caught in the thorns, and with the tip of her tongue lightly pressed against her left cheek, she raised an eyebrow in surprise. She really hadn't expected this place to have another hidden entrance; if it weren't for the little creature leading the way, probably no one would have discovered it.
A thin veil of water cascades down the mountain cliff, covering the entrance to a cave about the height of a person. As you walk inside, the stone walls on both sides shine with a soft white light, like jade bamboo shoots and pearls revealing themselves. The sound of footsteps echoes as you step slowly into the cave, where the ground is unusually wet and smooth, like silk. A faint white mist seeps out, gathering and condensing outside, forming a thick fog that wraps around everything, creating an otherworldly atmosphere.
"This is an excellent place for cultivation." Ling Wu Shuang walked in, exclaiming, "The spiritual energy is incredibly dense, it's like heaven and earth are on a different level. If one cultivates here, their speed will increase by at least tenfold, and in just one year, they can achieve what would take ten years outside!"
Ling Wu's eyes sparkled with a sudden idea: if the Ling family were to select their most elite young disciples and have them cultivate here...
"Chirp"
As I walked further in, I saw a fire-red small figure the size of a palm, jumping and playing happily not far away. Under its tiny paws, there was a huge stone slab, over three meters long and wide, like a stone bed, pure white as jade, emitting a soft glow like moonlight.
"It's indeed the heavenly nourishment of the spiritual vein" Ling Wusuo stepped forward a few steps, her eyes sparkling like clear ripples. The heavenly spiritual vein, a rare treasure!
Droplets of water keep falling onto the jade-white stone bed, the clear cliff water, after passing through the jade stone, is slightly milky white, forming a small stream, flowing out towards the cave entrance, dripping into a spring. Although the warm spring outside is less than two inches deep, it has been nourished by this spiritual vein for at least a hundred years.
No wonder this place is a gathering of spiritual energy, cultivating a piece of heavenly pulse as large as a fingernail, which takes at least a thousand years, and up to tens of thousands of years. It's no surprise that such a large piece can give birth to a sacred fruit like this precious object.
"What a pity, can't take it away" Ling Wu Shuang muttered to herself, her heart bleeding, she was so frustrated that she wanted to cry but had no tears. This stone weighed several tons, how could she possibly carry it away?
"Chirp, chirp" seemed to have been ignored by Ling Wu Shuang, the little thing was very dissatisfied, its bright red fur was wet and dripping, jumping up and down, causing water droplets to splash onto Ling Wu Shuang's face.
"Be honest with me." Ling Wu's eyebrows furrowed, and he rebuked in a low voice. His gaze finally moved away from the Warm Nurturing Spirit Veins and glanced at the small, fiery red thing. Unintentionally, he caught sight of something and couldn't help but frown in puzzlement: "What is this?"
In the depression of the spiritual vein, a pitch-black stone grain stood quietly, about the size of a finger, occasionally with water droplets falling on it from the top of the cave. The smooth surface was as shiny as obsidian, and it was particularly eye-catching on the pale spiritual vein.
"Squeak!" At this time, the little red fox spirit was extremely excited, with water splashing under its legs, baring its teeth and continuously calling out. Its paws were grasping onto Ling Wu's sleeve, its shiny black eyes staring at the black stone, trembling like starlight, very urgent.
Ling Wushuang suddenly became interested, this little guy could even gnaw on the sacred fruit like a stone, but he was exceptionally particular about a single black stone. It seemed that this thing wasn't simple. Ling Wushuang stretched out his hand, pinched it with two fingers, wanting to pick it up, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't budge it, and he couldn't help but feel greatly surprised.
"What's going on? Can't pull it out, has it grown onto the surface?"
Ling Wushuang felt a surge of dark energy rising and falling, sensing that there was an object lightly crawling at the bottom of the black stone, like a suction cup, attached to the spiritual vein.
"The stone actually took root" Ling Wu's silver teeth bit down, adding a burst of energy, and with a popping sound, the stone finally fell off. The black stone, about the size of a finger, looked like a seed, with green, thread-like veins on its base, as thin as spider silk, wriggling back and forth in the air for a few moments before disappearing from sight, leaving the black stone smooth and shiny once again.
"What a strong life force, what is this thing?" Ling Wusuo gently held the black stone grain, feeling infinite spiritual energy and vast life force, passing through his palm, entering every pore of his body, making his breathing smoother.
New shoots burst forth from the earth, flower buds spit out pearls, an ancient and mysterious aura, yet as clear as air and water, with a hint of familiarity and intimacy.
"Little Nine, let's go, I'll reward you with a big chicken leg when we get home." The little red creature liked to chirp and tweet, so Ling Wu Xiang casually gave it the nickname Little Nine.
"Chirp——" Xiao Jiu was overjoyed, and with a flash, a palm-sized ball of fur jumped onto Ling Wusuo's head, its small paws brushing against the red hair on his forehead. It stood up straight, chest out, looking majestic and powerful.
Exquisite fiery red hair, dotted with a head of black silk, set against Ling's snow-white skin as smooth as cream, beautiful to an abnormal degree.
"This little foodie, as soon as eating is mentioned, he comes to life." Ling Wusuo chuckled and casually put the black stone back into his sleeve. For now, it was hard to make out what it meant, so he might as well take it back and study it slowly.
As she was about to leave, Ling Wu Xiang gazed longingly at the large Warm Nurturing Spiritual Veins, but couldn't bring herself to take them. She stomped her feet and suddenly stopped, stroking her chin with a sly smile. This guy actually pulled out a dagger and scraped off several large packets of powder.
"How can I let such a treasure go?"
If people see it, they will cover their foreheads and sigh secretly, this is simply like bandits entering a village.
Ling Wushuang emerged from the valley, didn't linger for long, and hurried back on horseback without stopping. Although he was unfortunately blown away, he managed to scavenge quite a few treasures, and his mood wasn't bad.
At this time, she didn't know that the eastern capital city was already boiling like a pot of water, and the Ling family was in an uproar, almost everyone had been mobilized.
By the way
This stone is the key point, who knows what it is? O (∩ _ ∩) O haha ~
