Chapter 23: Deceiving the Small Beast
The little creature with fiery red fur lay on its back, holding a sprig of wormwood in its paws. It was crunching away at the herb when it heard Ling Wu's words. The creature suddenly dropped half of the wormwood from its paw and jumped up, staring at Ling Wu with round, shining eyes that blinked repeatedly as if in disbelief.
Ling's eyebrows slightly raised, "Really? She was just casually saying that, this little thing is really a foodie."
However, she only had some dry rations on her, and there really wasn't anything good to eat.
Ling Wushuang pondered for a moment, and her eyes lit up. She took out a small porcelain bottle from her bosom, poured out over a dozen pills of the elixir she had refined in recent days, and placed them on her palm. Crouching down on one knee, she gazed at the little fire spirit and chuckled: "This thing in my hand is much better than that grass of yours. Don't believe me? Try it!"
Even the heavenly treasures and earthly gems can be eaten like cabbage by this little thing, let's try to change its taste. The elixir in Ling Wu Shuang's hand was the size of a red bean, crystal clear, fragrant and enticing, the most basic Tian Xin Dan, yet sweet and delicious, tempting people with its reddish color.
"Hmm..." The little creature's bright red head tilted to one side, its round eyes quivering with a hint of disbelief.
In a short while, a red shadow flashed by, and a small, fluffy thing appeared. Its two front legs grasped Ling Wu's hands, its tail wagging back and forth, and with a flick of its pink tongue, the dozen or so dan medicine disappeared without a trace.
Ling Wu's palms warmed up, and he smiled lightly as his fingers touched the small thing's fiery red fluff, feeling very comfortable. The little thing rolled away with a dozen or so dan medicines, quickly flipping over and jumping to the ground, getting far away from Ling Wu. Its mouth made crunching sounds as it rolled around on the ground, its paws touching its sparse belly fur, making high-pitched squeaking calls, looking very happy.
Ling Wushuang clapped his hands and stood up, "How's that? I didn't cheat you, did I? It's much better than that grass-root thing of yours."
In his heart, he secretly thought that this little thing was born to be beaten. After eating too much Tianling Earth Treasure, even the most ordinary medicinal materials refined into Dan medicine could make him so happy.
"Chirp, chirp", the little thing finished eating and jumped onto a green stone at the edge of the cliff. Like a small dog, it crouched on all fours, its fluffy ears perked up, and its shiny black eyes gazed pitifully at Ling Wu Shuang, as if to say "what else do you want".
Seeing this, Ling Wushuang glanced at the white quartz, her clear and shallow eyes turned, cunning as a fox, and asked: "Do you want to eat more?"
The little "chirp" guy listened and was instantly delighted.
"Will you roll over?" Ling Wu Xiang poured out a dozen or so dan medicine, placed them in his hand, weighed them, glanced at the green stone on the cliff edge, and smiled slyly: "You roll over for me to see, I'll give these dan medicine to you."
The little creature's head was raised, its two ears perked up, and then it rolled over onto its back, its little bottom twitching as it rubbed against the bluestone before settling down again to gaze up at Ling Wu Shuang with an air of cuteness.
"Very good, well-behaved." Ling Wu Xuan nodded and handed the medicinal pill in his hand to Xiao Dong, a red shadow flashed by, followed by another crisp crackling sound.
Ling Wushuang shook the porcelain bottle in her hand, put her hands around her chest, and smiled: "Let's flip a few more, I'll give you all the rest"
The little thing tilted its head, with four legs in the air, rolling around on the bluestone like a happy child, one after another, tumbling over and over again. It seemed that the simpler the little thing was, the more it thought that the more it rolled, the more it could eat.
"Turn this way" Ling Wu Xiang stood with her hands clasped to her chest, leisurely standing on one side and pointing, laughing brightly, "Flip a few more, yes, just like that, good girl"
"Whoosh——"
"Chirp——"
Suddenly, after a strange and eerie screech with a slight tremolo, the small thing the size of a palm left behind a small whirlwind in mid-air before vanishing suddenly!
Upon closer inspection, it turned out that one side of the white limestone was a steep cliff. This little thing had been tumbling down happily without noticing and now it's unknown where it has fallen to.
"Alright!" Ling Wusuo clapped her hands, walked onto the bluestone, and gazed down at the valley shrouded in mist. Her slender fingers stroked her chin as she chuckled twice, "You're still a bit too tender to fight me, little one."
If Ji Yunyang saw this scene, she would definitely roll her eyes in disdain. Shameless, too shameless. This guy is already a villain, but now he's even bullying a small Xuan beast. Poor little thing.
Ling Wushuang turned around, like autumn wind sweeping away fallen leaves, and carefully plucked down three Wu Hua Guo. She quickly searched for various spiritual herbs and sacred fruits. That little thing was not to be trifled with, it could come back at any time, so she had to move faster.
After collecting the spiritual medicine, Ling Wushuang followed the valley and looked for a way to climb up the mountain cliff. He left from a small path, with towering ancient trees on both sides. The treetops were tinged with a faint glow of dawn, while the paths below were eerily quiet, with lush grass and trees.
Just a few steps away, Ling Wushuang suddenly felt a sense of alertness and turned around to face a pair of round eyes. His body stiffened, "No way, you're back so soon?" This is getting serious, what should I do?
Not far away, on the thick fallen leaves, a palm-sized fire-red little creature stared straight at Ling Wu Shuang, its eyes shining brightly, its small belly bulging in and out, baring its teeth and seeming to complain about something.
Ling Wushuang smiled awkwardly and spread his hands, "It's all gone, really gone, I gave it all to you to eat."
What's going on now is that she just happened to bring out a bottle of dan medicine when she came out, and it all went into this little thing's belly.
"Hiss——" The little thing was unhappy, its sharp claws stretched out, constantly scratching the broken wood beside it, making a "huff huff" sound, venting its discontent, showing that it was very angry.
Ling Wushuang was shocked, the sharp claws, that piece of withered purple-black wood, as hard as fine iron, was actually treated like thin paper, and was scratched into a sieve in just a few swipes, looking like a lump of rotten mud, pitiful to behold.
Staring at the small thing with a huff, self-absorbed and fiercely grasping the purple-black wood in his hand, seemingly unaware of himself, Ling Wushuang retreated step by step, quietly and soundlessly slipped away, and disappeared from sight in the blink of an eye.
Just then, she had only walked a short distance when her shoulders slumped and she helplessly turned her head to look back at the little thing that was still squatting not far behind her. Ling Wu Shuang's eyes were brimming with tears as he said in distress: "Why are you following me?"
It's just taking some spiritual medicine, why be so petty, and it's stuck on her, can't even shake it off.
Not far away, a green grass cluster, with dew like pearls, a small red shadow crouched among them, revealing a fluffy fiery little head, black eyes staring at Ling Wu Shuang, shining and pitiful.
Ling Wu's mouth twitched and she felt as if she was the one who had abandoned this little thing.
