Week of Routine

After a full nights rest, I awoke this morning with my arms no longer sore and in pain, I’m guessing that Altajir’s blessing also increases my recovery in my sleep by 3x, so with this new information, I changed my plans. I was going to take it easy today and recover, but if I could just recover in my sleep then I didn’t need to worry about taking rest days, I can train even more.

I started my day trying to run around the perimeter of Breufidem with my archery gear on, I gave up about a fourth of the way around covered in sweat, heaving, and my legs shaking, I proceeded into push ups, sit ups, and squats to my limit, this definitely wasn’t the most efficient workout, but it does the job, after a while my average frame will become muscular with increased strength and stamina. My whole workout took about 2 hours of my day.

I then proceeded to start my archery training, I marked a tree with an x, backed up from it 20 meters and let arrows fly. I wasn’t as accurate as yesterday, since I was twice as far back from the target and it also didn’t help that my legs were shaking and my abs felt tight, but as the sun slide across the sky my arrows began grouping closer towards the middle, and eventually as the sun crept towards the horizon, all my arrows hit close to the center. Afterwards I collected all my arrows and began the trek back to the main gate a Breufidem, I got back to the main gate and sun was no longer up, I greeted Vikir and unwinded by conversing with him and the other guards. He invited me to have dinner with him and his sister and I happily accepted, I was grateful for a home cooked meal and saving money. After finishing seconds I thanked Vikir and Val for cooking, bid them farewell and headed back to my inn to turn in for the night.

The rest of the week played out like the previous day, I woke up refreshed, did my body work out to my limit, afterwards I found a spot for my archery workout, and shot arrows til the sun began to set. I then would meet Vikir at the main gate if he was working and converse with him and the other guards. Some days there was some variation, one day I had to visit Gremir’s smithy and buy some arrows from Vandal, the archery training each day was different, adding distance, movement, or situations to make shooting more difficult, and whether I ate dinner with Vikir and his sister or in the inn was a coin flip, I really cherished the nights eating at Vikirs. With that a whole week had passed.

Now that my archery was at a level where I was consistent at almost any range I decided to reel back on the archery training, I started my day the same with my body workout almost to failure, then trained archery for 1 hour to stay sharp and afterwards headed to the adventurers guild to choose quest, because I’ve only been spending money and I’m running out, so it’s time to work again. I would meet up with Tace at the adventurers guild since they had returned from their group quest, and we would argue about which quest we would complete for the day, well I would argue my case for hunting animals or clearing out goblin quest, while Tace would make their case for quest involving monsters that were far too dangerous for my liking or instead of questing we just explored a dungeon. I always shot down those ideas and Tace would relent to my choice of quest, and they always progressed easily. If we had to hunt any animals Tace would scare them towards me and I would land a killing shot with an arrow and if we had to face monsters such as goblins, Tace would take front and I would take rear shooting them down as Tace distracted them, this system worked pretty well for us.

I continued this routine of training, working with Tace, and enjoying meals with Vikir and as this routine went on, 3 months had passed.
