Chapter 51: The Story in the Bamboo Carving Book
Uchiha Mori looked in the direction Uchiha Ryo was facing. After the sparrow disappeared, his expression became confused. "What do you mean by not neglecting others just because you're powerful? Isn't it only natural for the strong to rule the weak?"
"Well, not necessarily," Uchiha Ryo said with a soft ugh. "Aren't you (Uchiha Mori) and Uchiha Yugu a good example?"
Uchiha Mori showed a disgusted expression. "Come on, how can you treat family and enemies the same way? And there's no way my brother could beat me."
"Really? But in my opinion, in a real life-and-death battle, as long as they don't confront each other directly from the start, the one who'll win is Uchiha Yugu."
Hearing this, Uchiha Mori was stunned. The strength in his wrestling hands weakened, and he was immediately grabbed by the neck by Uchiha Yugu. He struggled desperately like a fish out of water.
Uchiha Yugu tightened his arms with a cold face. "Being a tough guy, huh? Why not now? You just never learn your lesson."
The smile on Uchiha Ryo's lips spread a little more. "See, I told you? It's hard for Uchiha Mori to beat Uchiha Yugu."
Uchiha Mori was finally let go. After coughing violently a few times, he started to argue that if it weren't for the fact that it was Uchiha Yugu holding his neck, he would've broken the other's arm and escaped long ago. But before he could finish speaking, he was grabbed by the back of his colr by Uchiha Yugu and dragged away.
Rin let out a scoff and shifted her gaze. "He's so stupid it's unbearable to look at."
"Come on, don't say that. Uchiha Mori's strength is still quite good," Uchiha Ryo said with a soft ugh. Then he turned his head and looked at the wall on one side. "This is really... Well, let's go. Let's finish our shopping and head back quickly."
Rin looked at the wild cat trotting past on the wall. Her three-tomoe Sharingan quietly appeared but quickly disappeared again. "There are no traces of the Transformation Technique... Is there something wrong with that cat?"
"No, I just think the looks in people's and animals' eyes differ greatly." Uchiha Ryo tapped his staff-sword and walked forward. "Speaking of which, that dessert shop we passed by earlier was really great. Let's go there."
But Rin noticed that no matter where they went ter, Uchiha Ryo would always unconsciously turn towards the animals around them. Sometimes, he wouldn't turn to face the passing animals right away but would do so after the animals had passed for a while.
When they left the town, he even smiled and sighed that the Uchiha cn members were really unpopur outside.
This left the others a little confused.
On their way back, they also encountered other ninjas on a mission. But after seeing their cn uniforms, the others retreated one by one, and there was no conflict.
After they returned to the cn territory and submitted the mission, Uchiha Ryo was also visited by Uchiha Akihiko, who brought several volumes of Bamboo Carving Books.
"Thanks, Akihiko," Uchiha Ryo said as he took the packed Bamboo Carving Books. "Do you have time now? I might have some Mondai to ask you while you're here."
Uchiha Akihiko had no objection to that. "Sure, I'm avaible. But you just got back from a mission. Don't you want to spend some time with your family first?"
"
"Haha, we'll have a family get-together ter tonight. I've got plenty of time this afternoon to finish reading these books and then ask questions."
"Alright, I'll bring the Ninjutsu Scroll over to your pce ter."
After a brief chat about the cn's recent situation, they went their separate ways. When Uchiha Ryo arrived home, he simply freshened up and greeted his family members at home. Then, he couldn't wait to take out a Bamboo Carving Book.
As a member of the Uchiha cn, it was impossible for Uchiha Ryo not to have yearned for the Strength of the Mangekyo. He had also fantasized about what it would be like after obtaining that Strength. However, before he could achieve his wish, he encountered an accident, and this matter naturally came to nothing. But now that he had the chance to learn about this aspect of information, he wouldn't miss it.
Uchiha Ryo gently ran his fingertips over the engravings on the surface of the bamboo slips. After a moment of recognition, he picked up the Bamboo Carving Book marked with 【一】 and opened it. To his surprise, the first volume didn't contain stories about the abilities of the Mangekyo, but rather a mythological story about their ancestors.
It said that the Uchiha cn was descendants of the Sage of the Six Paths. This was also the fundamental reason why the Sharingan had Strength comparable to that of the sages. However...
After finishing the story, Uchiha Ryo frowned and pced his hand back at the beginning of the story. Something about this story just didn't feel right.
According to the story in the Bamboo Carving Book, the Sage of the Six Paths couldn't bear to see the suffering of sentient beings, so he taught the world the method of cultivating chakra and founded Ninshu.
He had two sons. The elder one was Indra, and the younger one was Shura.
Indra was extremely talented. He was the first human in the world to use chakra in battle and the first to learn ninjutsu. Due to his high talent, Indra was independent and powerful. He could handle anything on his own.
On the other hand, Shura was mediocre in talent, being bad at everything and always needing others' help to finish tasks. So, people always paid more attention to Shura. Even the Sage of the Six Paths finally chose to pass on Ninshu to Shura instead of the more outstanding Indra.
When Indra felt it was unfair and went to confront the Sage of the Six Paths, the Sage said that Indra was excellent and hoped he could assist Shura in expanding Ninshu.
Indra couldn't accept this, so he left angrily and decred war on Ninshu. Throughout his life, he constantly fought with Shura but was ultimately outnumbered. He didn't get the fairness he wanted even until his death.
Under Indra's continuous attacks, the Ninshu ruled by Shura gradually colpsed. The ninjas of Ninshu dispersed around the world and formed various ninja cns.
What surprised Uchiha Ryo the most was that the Bamboo Carving Book actually stated that the Uchiha cn was descendants of Indra and urged them to strive for justice for the unfair treatment their ancestor had suffered.
And the simplest way to achieve this kind of 'innocence' is to kill one's own retives with one's own hands and then transpnt their eyes to gain Strength. Only those who possess the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan can truly be regarded as a Uchiha.
"To take the conflict between brothers to such an absurd extent...," Uchiha Ryo frowned tightly. "As an older brother, shouldn't he be happy about his younger brother's growth? Instead, he became jealous and resentful, and even asked his descendants to avenge him..."
"This Sage of the Six Paths is also incredibly absurd. Just because the elder son was highly talented, he vished all his love on the younger one. When the elder son felt unfairly treated and his emotions fred up, he even told him to continue helping his younger brother..."
"And this Shura, does your brother ck Ninshu? What he really cks is love! Otherwise, with such a huge gap in strength, if he really wanted to kill you, wouldn't he have done it long ago? As a younger brother, can't you even show dependence and act coquettishly towards your elder brother?"
None of them can truly fulfill their responsibilities... Your family deserves to have these conflicts. And I have to unlock the Mangekyo Sharingan just to read this lousy story? Which unreliable ancestor recorded this? Do they think adding the title of 'Sage' can white - wash the story? It's just a waste of time and it just makes me mad."
However, at this moment, Uchiha Ryo didn't realize that this story, which seemed full of fws to him, was not fabricated by the ancestors, but a historical fact recorded by them.
