The carriage ride to Haglethorn was back on the road again, with the addition of five new passengers hitching a ride along as well. There was a sense of awkwardness in the air, most likely because the five men who were dragged back to camp were previously naked last night.
Even though all of them were dressed with spare clothes given to them, at least to the extent of having pants on, everyone else still couldn’t forget what they saw. It was a good thing that the wife of the couple prevented the driver’s daughter from seeing something so disturbing.
The five new passengers could not recall when they were snatched away by the Siren, there was no telling how long they were her pawns since their transformation. All they remembered was hearing the sweet entrancing melody of a beautiful woman by the lake and that was it.
Kat and Anna explained to everyone what had happened and they just left it at that, agreeing to give these poor guys a ride and promised to never talk about the incident again.
It was only a couple more hours before they would all arrive to the city. Anna and Kat sat next to each other, trying not to think about what happened last night. Currently, at the moment, Anna was messaging her sister Luna, checking in on her if she ran into any trouble.
“You stole produce at a public market!? I told you to keep a low profile, not to cause trouble while I’m on my way. If you're hungry, why don’t you try finding an orphanage to take care of you while you wait?” Anna replied to her sister, concerned about the chance of her sister getting caught by the authorities of the city.
“No, why would I want to go back to something like that again? You worry too much, Anna, I can take care of myself just fine. Besides, these people would never suspect someone as innocent as me to be a thief.” Luna knew her sister cared for her safety, but she also felt like she didn’t trust her enough to look out for herself.
Anna wanted to rant at Luna so bad, Kat could see her balling her fists with a look of frustration, she was wondering what so bad that they were talking about that would make Anna appear so stressed.
“Luna, I know you’re good at taking what you want under people’s noses, but I’m not there with you at the moment. Also, we’re in an unknown world, and we don’t know how the people here will treat those that steal. For all we know, the city that you are in might execute you on the spot because they are strict on criminals.”
“Well, this place seems alright to me. The people here seem a lot nicer than those back on Earth, and I’ve been given some food for free by some kinder folks. I’ll be alright, Anna, so stop worrying and let me know when you arrive. Later sis!” Luna would give her one last reply before closing the chat between them, leaving a frustrated Anna.
Kat wanted to try and comfort her, hesitating to place a hand on her shoulder but deciding not to, not wanting to anger her any further than what her and her sister might have discussed. ‘I ought to not say anything…wouldn’t want to trigger her any more than she seems to be…’
Even though Kat had two brothers, Kyle and Eric, she had faith that they were both capable of taking care of themselves without her. In fact, both of her brothers would be worried about her when she wasn’t around and would always ask her if she was doing alright or not…
It was too bad that her and her brothers never explored the features that the system had, such as being able to add each other and communicate, otherwise she would be able to stay in contact with them and also know if they were alright. Yet, still, she knew worrying would do no good for her, and that they were probably more worried about her safety.
A moment of silence would take over as the time would roll by, Kat would feel drowsy, her eyes slowly dropping down before submitting to her body telling her to sleep.
Her head then plopped onto Anna’s shoulder, resting on it and causing Anna to break out of her thoughts of the possible issues Luna might face. She turned to look at Kat for a moment and sighed, Anna didn’t mind letting her use her shoulder as a place to rest her head and calmed down from her worries. ‘I’ll handle her when I get there, let’s not think about it for now.’
Deciding to take a page out of Kat’s book, she too laid her head back to rest some more while they awaited their arrival.
Judas looked at the two for a moment, questioning himself whether he should try to tag along with them once they reach the city. That is, if they would allow him to join. He then received a message from his sponsor, a demon lord that had taken a liking to him since the tutorial event back on Earth. “Your sponsor, ‘Demon Lord of Lies and Deception’, wonders what you are plotting.”
The doctor looked out at the road they were leaving behind, hiding his grin from the rest of the people. “Simply thinking about using those two, my good lord. The crimson haired woman, Anna, has proven to be a potential tool for getting through these challenges. The other is…weak, she can at least serve as bait for when things get desperate, I hope.”
“Demon Lord of Lies and Deception, expresses concern of your innocence from last night.” The reply made Judas remember about his mistake of not swapping out his outfit for sleepwear, since them being dirty would imply that he had been outside, possibly watching the two woman saving the men from the Siren while in hiding.
“Don’t worry, Kat seems like a worry wart and still thinks I’m a normal doctor. The other doesn’t appear to suspect a thing, despite her mysterious and self-centered nature, I’m certain I haven’t given any reason to paint me as a bad person. So don’t fret, I’ll make it through this hurdle.” Judas was confident in his chances of completing the future challenges that lay ahead of him.
“Demon Lord of Lies and Deception, accepts your answer for now but heeds caution towards the crimson haired woman.” His sponsor replied.
Judas did not reply, but agreed that Anna was not to be taken lightly. ‘If not her, I can always find others that will be easier to manipulate and abuse. We shall see what happens.’
The ride to Haglethorn was pleasant, no issues appeared while riding the rest of the way, until the driver and his daughter began to notice the surrounding vegetation began to change, introducing colorful and unique plants with prickly thorns. The two knew they were close to reaching the city soon, and so the daughter stuck her head inside the carriage to inform them.
Anna would be the first to hear of the news, being a light sleeper, and lightly shook Kat awake from her sleep to tell her of the news. “Kat, we’re almost there.”
Kat lifted her head from Anna’s shoulder, still half awake, but quickly becoming wide awake when she realized that she had been using Anna’s shoulder as a place to rest. “A-Anna! I’m so sorry, I-I didn’t realize-”
Anna then flickered her forehead playfully, “Are you going to apologize over every little thing? Relax, I’m okay with it. You seemed like you needed some more sleep anyway, so I didn’t wake you.”
The brunette woman expressed a smile of embarrassment, fidgeting her fingers like she always did when she wasn’t sure what else to say. “A-Alright Anna, thank you…”
Through the beautiful, yet dangerous, forest they went and over the hill, the city of Haglethorn was now in view to see. The scene was breathtaking, the perfect time of the day for an artist to use this opportunity to paint a glorious picture of the sight. Fields of flowers could easily be seen, stretched far and wide near the walls of the Haglethorn, also serving as part of the cities form of protection with their thorns. A bustling city just waiting to be visited.
And after another hour of travelling down the path, they would eventually one of the entrance walls leading inside the city, a fortified checkpoint was stationed near it, there to make sure that who or what was entering inside, wasn’t anything bad or illegal within their magnificent city.
But the process was simple, albeit the five additional men they brought along on their journey that didn’t have proper clothes on. The driver explained to the guards of what they encountered which gave them a good laugh and let them all on through, believing that the story and probably wouldn’t be the last they will have heard.
The driver would then park his carriage near one of the public stables and everyone unloaded themselves off the carriage. Everyone would thank the driver and his daughter for taking them to the city. Anna and Kat offered to pay them in gold, unsure of the economic currency or the minimum wage amount was, brought about a pouch of 500 gold as thanks. Anna had about 15,000 gold, most of it being from the tutorial back on Earth as a reward, especially since she was the second-highest contributor.
At first, the driver denied the offer from them, telling them that they had saved him from becoming a pawn of the horrific Siren and that it was the least they could do for them. But Anna insisted upon paying them and gave it to the daughter, who was surprised of how heavy the pouch was.
“Just take it, we appreciate you taking us all the way here to see my sister. Take care, you two, and be safe.” Anna told them, before nudging Kat to follow her along into the busy city ahead.
The daughter would inspect the pouch inside and a yelp of surprise could be heard from behind them, they were not expecting the pouch to be so full of gold. To the people of Scion, the minimum wage per week was 50 gold if you were to do hard labor, so seeing an amount such as this was astonishing, they felt blessed to have met such kind folks like them.
Judas would decide to follow them Anna and Kat from a distance, to observe and wait for the right opportunity to ask them about Lost Adventure and the possibility of teaming up. He wanted to study them a bit longer before going right for it, lingering in the background till then from a distance.
As Anna and Kat strolled through the city of Haglethorn, Kat was mesmerized by the surrounding scenery so much that she wished her brothers were there to see it all. Flowers and ribbons hanged around on display, instrumental music filled the background that made her feel energetic and happy, the smell of delicious food wafted the air that made her hungry already. Everything was so magnificent.
She wanted to explore the city badly and browse around, of course, while also searching for Anna’s sister Luna. “Hey Anna, can we look around while we keep an eye out for your sister? That is…if that’s alright with you?”
Anna thought about it for a moment, the city was huge and would require some time to find out where her sister was. She had informed Luna about their arrival but hadn’t received a reply back from her, it would be ideal for them to shop for supplies while they were in the city as they tried meeting up with Luna. “I suppose we could do some shopping for supplies while we wait for my sister to respond back for her whereabouts.”
Her words made Kat excited, the first thing on her mind was finding a shop dedicated to stuff like witchcraft, a subject that she was quite fond of back on Earth. “Awesome! And don’t worry, I’ll keep in mind about your sister, I know how badly you’ve been wanting to see her. Ooooh, this is going to be so fun!”
Kat would then take the lead of the two, on her search for a witchcraft shop, believing that if this was a fantasy setting world, there had to be one. Anna followed behind, amused at Kat’s joy for the city, thinking that if she was this happy to explore, her sister must have been having a field day here all the time.
The two would stroll around the city, visiting stores of all kinds, whether it was clothes, pottery, blacksmiths, and even food. They would come to learn that gold coins were worth a lot of money, and that the fact they were carrying a huge chunk of them meant they must have been loaded on the streets.
Kat wanted to try purchasing a frosted pastry at a popular bakery, only to find out that one gold coin was capable of buying a dozen pastries. Regardless, she would pay the bakers for the dozen and planned on sharing it to the people outside. Everywhere else they went, she would pass out the pastries to anyone that accepted her offer.
They would go to a blacksmith shop to browse for better equipment than what they had, pooling their money together, they had roughly 19,000 gold, most of it being from Anna. And from inspecting the nearest blacksmith, an Uncommon weapon’s worth ranged between 2,500–15,000 gold, which was within their budget. There were very few weapons and gear that they found out were of a higher rarity, such as simple Rare, but they were way too pricey.
Anna wanted to buy a more effective dagger for herself, while Kat wasn’t sure what to get that was worth buying for herself. She wasn’t a fighter like Anna and usually hanged back during the fight against the zombies, landing finishing attacks at those weak enough for her to handle by her brother Kyle.
Upon inspecting an Uncommon dagger named, “Wolf’s Fang”, she decided to get it based on the budget she had. Its stats would provide her a boost in attack speed by 20%, a 10% chance of inflicting bleed damage, and decent damage output for a dagger. She would pay a lump sum of 5,000 gold to the vendor, along with an Uncommon leather armor for Kat called, “Hardy Leather Armor +2”, that costed 7,000 gold. The armor would have costed 10,000 instead, but the blacksmith had decided to give them a discount because of how new they seemed to be.
Kat would thank Anna for buying her the leather armor, appreciating her kindness and promising to return the favor to her somehow in the future. “Just look out for my sister when we find her, and we’ll call it even.” Anna told her, she was expecting her to tag along with her anyway as they journeyed through Lost Adventure.
Soon after, Anna would receive a message back from her sister and told Kat, who suggested they sit down at a nearby bench while Anna talked to her. They would do so, Kat giving Anna her space while she messed with the system menu.
“I’m near a fancy park with a huge sparkling fountain with fish in it. It seems very popular because there are so many couples and families here, oh, and there’s actually ice cream being sold here! Isn’t that cool! I’m thinking about getting some for myself.” Luna messaged Anna, who was relieved to hear from her again.
“Okay, a fancy park that looks busy and has an ice cream stand. Do you know the name of the park, because that would help a lot.”
“I don’t know what the name of this park is called, maybe the ice cream guy can tell me what it is, hold on one sec, I’ll let you know.”
Anna facepalmed herself, of course she would be focused on having fun and treating herself to something as simple as ice cream by herself. At least she knew that she was near a public area that seemed well known, and not some shady place like an underground criminal organization. Although, that could have been a possibility.
About 15 minutes would pass before Anna would receive a response back from Luna, wondering what took her so long. “The park is called ‘Evelyn's Garden’, located on the west side of the city. I just found out that 1 gold coin bought me a couple of ice cream cones, and so I told the ice cream man to give the rest to anyone who wants one. I'm so nice, right?”
Anna paused before responding, at least she was having a good time there. “We're going to ask directions on how to get there, so don't go anywhere and wait for us. I mean it, Luna!”
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Yes, mom…” Was Luna’s reply before ending the chat.
After the talk with her sister, Anna would relay the information to Kat and begin asking directions to the park from the people around them.
———?[Luna's Perspective]?———
With a peanut butter chocolate swirl ice cream in hand and perfect weather out today, under the shade of a big blooming tree to shield her from the sun's rays; Luna sat down on a bench to consume her delectable treat.
The combination of chocolate and peanut butter would always be a popular combo, even in this world that she was in, no doubt was it the best flavor to exist for ice cream.
Luna had spent a couple of days in the city on her own since she came, with most people questioning her where her guardian was, but would always tell them that she was out on a quick errand.
She had been asked the same question back on Earth before, bothered by it at first, but then later became used to it. Luna tolerated the comments of what everyone would say about her whenever she went to school, or be called weird for doing something that a regular little girl wouldn't do, like playing with butterfly knives or reading comics.
Although it may have only been a few days, and it could be that she was in a good mood, but she liked the city life. It was clean, colorful, and roaring with life around. She hadn't seen any other person treated wrongfully, at least not yet. Luna felt that she wouldn't mind living in this world her whole life.
As she continued to eat her frosty dessert, a hooded figure sat next to her with an ice cream of his own, wearing a coat that looked a bit too big for them to wear. Appearing silly, despite looking mysterious.
She glanced at the person, watching them smack on their food through their hood, but not able to see what they looked like. “Mmm, this good. Puck like it.” The weird person commented.
Luna thought it was funny watching this mysterious person eating his ice cream, until suddenly they dropped their scoop of ice cream on to the ground, witnessing a tragedy. “Ouch, that's sad to see. Let me-”
And right before Luna could finish her sentence, the person pounced on the puddle of ice cream energetically and began eating it off the ground. “Hey! Don't do that, dude; it’s disgusting!” She told him, surprised to see someone actually do that for the first time in her life.
Puck kept eating away, not stopping until the ground it fell on was spotless. Luna got off the bench and shrugged the Kobold. “Listen, I can get you another ice cream, so stop eating it off-”
“More ice cream!” Puck shouted, upon hearing her offer to get him another.
It was then that Luna got a good clear look at his face from under the hood and freaked out. “Aaah!” At first, she thought it was someone of similar age like her, but what she saw was the face of a dragon-like lizard with ice cream all over his face.
She fell back, crawling away from Puck, unsure of what kind of being it was. This was her first time seeing someone not human of this world, a walking and talking lizard was not on her bingo card.
Puck looked behind himself, wondering if there was something or someone there scary enough to spook her, but saw nothing capable of terror. “What? Why you look scared? Nothing scary behind Puck?”
Luna took a moment to calm down, the thing wasn’t actively trying to do any harm to her, at least not yet. She was curious if it was normal for walking, talking lizards to exist in this world. Another thing she did wonder, was why it was wearing a coat with a hoodie. “W-What are you? Who are you?” She had to ask.
“Oh, my name is Puck! Puck is Kobold, yeah, but you not supposed to know that-” He paused for a moment, realizing what he had just said. He had promised Barry that he would hide his identity from everyone ever since the incident that happened on their way to the city. “No, no, please no tell anyone about Puck! It supposed to be top secret.” He then raised a finger to his snout, a sign that told Luna to keep hush.
Luna, now amused, relaxed a bit more and sort of laughed a bit; the idea of a lizard person trying to blend in with a crowd of humans like her was silly, especially with his baggy outfit. Puck began to panic for a moment, thinking she was going to rat on him, but she would take notice and responded back. “Alright, Puck, I’ll take your secret to my grave.”
Puck got even more worried, misinterpreting her words and believing she was going to die. “No! Puck no want you to die!”
Luna laughed even harder, she wondered if all Kobolds were like him, dense and goofy. “Haha, no Puck, that’s not what I meant.” She had to calm down, her insides were hurting from all the laughing. “What I meant was, I won’t tell anyone. And by the way, my name is Luna.” She smiled at him and stuck her hand out to shake his.
The Kobold looked at her hand and back at his, then stuck his hand out with his sagging sleeves from his coat, to which Luna grabbed and shook his hand. Puck smiled, thinking he might have found a new friend. “Thank you, Luna. Puck will remember this.”
And just as they were introducing themselves to each other, a loud blaring sound blasted in the air, coming from the city alarms which were speaker poles that functioned on the cities magic generators. “THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! THE CITY IS UNDER ATTACKED BY INTERDIMENSIONAL BEINGS! AGAIN, THE CITY IS BEING UNDER ATTACKED BY INTERDIMENSIONAL BEINGS! FIND SHELTER AND AWAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS!” The speakers would inform, blasting on repeat once more.
“Emergency!? No, that mean something bad happening! We need to get out of here, Luna!” Puck said, taking her by the hand in an attempt to take her to safety.
Luna pulled her arm back and shook her head. “I can’t leave just yet, I promised my sister I would be here for her. I was expecting her to come find me, what if she’s nearby?” Despite her wanting to leave the area to find someplace to hide, Luna wanted to give her sister a chance to find her at the park like she told her.
Puck was unsure of what to do in this situation, he wanted to help keep Luna safe at the least, then he remembered someone that could keep them safe for sure. “Hey, Puck know someone who can keep you safe. His name is Barry, good friend of Puck. He should be nearby, Puck, promise we find your sister together.”
People could be seen all around them, running to find places to hide from whatever that came to invade the city life of Haglethorn. It was a critical decision for Luna to make, but she would come to decide that the safest solution would be to find shelter or someone dependable to keep her safe, she could always message Anna about her situation later. “Alright, Puck, I’ll go with you.”
And with that answer, Puck grabbed her hand and rushed her along with him to go and find Barry.
Running through the streets in panic, people hurrying to get to their homes or the nearest safe haven that they could find. The city authorities became more active, heading to their assigned locations to guard and protect from all across Haglethorn.
As Puck guided them to the last known area that he remembered Barry to be in, Luna messaged Anna as they went, telling her that she was with one other person to go find some place safe because of what ever the city emergency was.
They were approaching the place that Puck figured Barry and Ron would be, looking down the street and focusing onto a large sculpture of some kind of king riding on a horse. It was the last place he was at with his group, faster he ran, hoping that they were still there.
But suddenly, their path would be blocked off from falling debris above, a fireball was flung at the roof of one of the buildings ahead, destroying a chunk of the structure and sending it crashing down. More structural damage would be done by a few more stray fireballs that struck the building, causing more material to block off their path.
Puck panicked, unsure of where else to go from there. Luna, however, having a general sense of direction in the city, despite only living in the city for a couple of days on her own, took the lead from there, “Come on Puck, we can find your friend later. Right now, we should worry about ourselves and find someplace to stay low.”
She led them through a narrow pathway off to the side, up some stairs and through an aisle of buildings. Luna planned on taking him to a secluded spot she had been staying at since the first day she's been in the city.
As they ran, she would receive a message from Anna, reading “Be safe, we'll meet up later!”.
Further they went, the sounds of distress could be heard, wondering what sort of attack they were under to stir up such a ruckus. It was then that Luna would receive a sub-quest notification.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
‘Subterranean people have invaded the city? Meaning, people that live below the city?’ She had no idea that there were people that lived underground in this world.
A couple more minutes would pass until Luna and Puck reached a strip mall of shops. There weren't many people there at the time, but still, all of them were running away back to their homes.
Then, there was a tremor, everyone could feel the ground shake from their legs. The two wondered what could be the cause of it, but would soon be given their answer as something emerged from the ground.
Out from under the street, burrowing to the surface, was a huge creature with a hard armored shell, curled claws capable of breaking through stone with ease, a horn at the end of it's nose that also served as a pickaxe, with a short tail at its end. This had to be one of the things that the system considered as, a Moldbreaker.
And on top of it, was a humanoid being dressed for battle and armed with a silver sword and buckler shield. Its appearance was almost ghoul like, hideously disfigured, tall with gray skin, and their eyes looking as if they were blind. Their ears seemed to have been cut off, almost as if they had done it themselves. Luna thought these were called the Chakaries based on the quest info.
Another rider would appear behind them as they tried to back track, blocking their path and boxing them in. There were now two of them, both surveying their surroundings for a moment before one of them decided to make their next move.
A random civilian was so nervous at the situation that just unfolded on him, that he decided to take his chance and scurry pass one of them, seeing that he was the closest one a way out.
The Chakarie closest to him, looked towards his direction and commanded his mount with its reins, charging at the man with it's 2 ton tank of a beast. The civilian would realize, real soon, the feeling of flying through the air when the creature lifted him off the ground with a nod of its horn.
A loud thud sounded off once the body slammed flat on the ground, ending the sorry fool's life. The Chakarie then produced clicking noises towards its battle buddy, who would then reply with what seemed like chuckling that sent shivers down Luna’s spine, afraid that the same thing was going to happen to all of them.
Luna and Puck watched as both riders began closing in on them and a few other terrified people. They were unsure of how they were all going to manage to get out of this predicament they were in. Puck glanced at Luna and could immediately tell that she was terrified at the position they were all in.
Puck then whispered to Luna, thinking about using himself as bait. “Luna, Puck about to do something, so when Puck gives the signal, run.”
Luna thought it was crazy of Puck to target himself as a distraction, in her eyes, he didn't seem threatening at all from his upfront goofy nature. “Puck, hold on. Don't do anything stupid.”
Their enemies approached the small group of people, taking their time before having their fun by killing them. In their eyes, they were prey, both of them were confident that they had them locked down.
It was now a woman, who could no longer remain still as they got closer, and tried making a break for it. One of the riders lunged at the woman with anticipation, ordering their mount to seize their chance to play.
And that was when Puck decided it was his moment to shine. Quickly, he focused the armored beast and unleashed a jet of flames upon it. This came as a surprise to Luna, as much as it did to their foes.
His fiery capabilities were shown and spooked the surrounding beasts, causing the one who lunged at the woman to halt themselves before moving any further towards the raging flames this small yet mysterious hooded person was producing. The other beast tried their luck from behind, but Puck quickly spun around and fanned some flames their way, discouraging them from attempting.
Everyone else then took the opportunity to try and escape from the area, successfully doing so while Puck drew aggro from them. Luna figured that this Puck’s way of signalling her to skedaddle away, she hesitated at first, not wanting to leave Puck behind after just meeting him, but knew that if she stayed any longer, she would only be holding him back and making his efforts meaningless.
So she ran away once she got saw an opening, rushing past the first rider blocking her exit, she had successfully made it. Luna looked back to see what was happening now, only to watch as one of the mounts of the riders, gathered their nerves to jump at the little Kobold to end his annoyance.
She cried, deep inside Luna wanted to turn back and help the brave little Kobold friend she had just met moments ago, but knew that she wasn’t capable of even protecting herself at the moment. Luna wasn’t strong enough at the moment, unlike her sister Anna, she was only level 4 with no skills or abilities to use. Sure, she had a dagger to use as a weapon, but against monsters such as them, she might as well serve as bait.
Further and further, Luna ran away from the scene with tears in her eyes, ‘Is this all I’ll ever be capable of? Running away from almost everything, like back at home? I only just met Puck and yet, he’s possibly dead!’ Her mind was in the clouds, unaware of where she was going, completely focused on her flaws as a person and why she couldn’t amount to anything greater than what she was.
She could feel her exhaustion catching up to her, finally coming to a stop to catch her breath. Luna would then take notice of her surroundings then, she was now in a boxed alleyway with one way out, which was the way she came from.
Thinking that she might have lost the two murdering riders, Luna wanted to take a few more moments for herself, so she could gather her stamina before turning back to find a more secured place to hide.
But shock and fear would soon rise within, when she felt the ground tremor once again. ‘No! It can’t be…’ Luna was scared that one of the enemies from before was travelling beneath the earth’s crust and was trying to track her down. She would be right.
The path she came from was now blocked by the emergence of one of the same riders from before, it was clear for Luna to see the damage that Puck had done to both the rider, and it’s mount. Intense scorch marks could be spotted all over their bodies, the humanoid being’s armor had been utterly damaged and charred along with its skin. And they were not looking too happy about what Puck had done to them.
Luna was terrified, cornered with no one else to support her, she was now literally looking at her executioner. The Chakarie kept making clicking sounds, appearing irritated at what had been done to them and his beast, and wanted to vent its rage upon the person that seemed closest to the little bastard that disfigured them even more.
Frozen in her shoes, all she could do was stare and watch as it approached her menacingly. ‘Move! I have to move! I don’t want to die! Anna will be sad if I’m gone, please, someone help!’
The Chakarie then commanded his beast to sic her, he wanted to see how high she could fly in the air before plummeting to her inevitable death. A type of joy to fill him again from having his body severely burned by the runt from before.
She believed she saw her life flash before her eyes, thinking that this would be the end of her chapter. ‘I’m so sorry, Anna, please don’t be sad when I’m gone.’
And in what seemed like a ray of hope so great that it caught both of them off guard, an uninvited guest had arrived like a guardian from the skies.
Intercepting the enemy in front of her, landing with a pale white arm extending outward at the foe, was another mysterious-hooded figure that seemed to be an average sized human adult. The enemy was pushed back from an unknown force that had to have been produced from this strange new person.
Luna remained still, surprised not only that she was still alive, but also because someone had come to stop her impending doom. She looked at the mysterious being, all she could see was it's pale white hands with slightly pointed fingernails.
But what she didn’t expect to see, was something that brought her a feeling of relief. ‘Puck?’ Resting on top of the figure’s shoulder was the little Kobold that had risked his life to save her from before. She wondered who this person was, were they friend or foe?
She would then notice the true enemy rise once more with his companion, furious that they had been stopped while in the middle of their fun. The figure then turned to look at Luna, raising its hand again but reaching a finger towards her forehead. “N-No, what are you-”
Luna was able to speak for a bit, wanting to move away from the figure, unsure of what they were trying to do, but couldn’t. She would then pass out before finishing her sentence, magically becoming unconscious and being caught by the person before she could collapse to the ground.
The pale person then placed Luna on their other shoulder, now carrying her and Puck. Its opponent would study this mysterious being, trying to calculate its chances of winning against them, but would come to the decision of retreating for now instead of testing its luck. After all, it did watch its previous partner get executed in front of him recently before.
It was now the mystery person all alone, seeing its foe burrow back underground, travelling to who knows where now.
A sigh was released from the person, probably because of the events that were unfolding upon the city of Haglethorn. ‘How could this have happened…’ They thought, before taking off with both Puck and Luna.
