  “Massster, the child you tasssked me to watch over has been drawn into the gamesss.” hissed Quetzalcoatl the ancient snake that had served for over a millennium. “It would appear he has the bloodline.”

  “I was hoping we could avoid this fate...” The master stood and the chair he had been sitting on dissipated into smoke. “Do we have any agents in the area?”

  “Only your cousssin, Isssaac. But he will be of little aid—the Eye tracksss his every move. If he interferesss, the Eye’s wrath will fall upon our interesssts.”

  The Master’s brow furrowed with a heavy sigh. "Tell Isaac to lay low. By now, he should have shaken the Eye—but he’s been taking too many chances." He pinched the bridge of his nose, exhaling slowly. "There’s nothing to be done now. Let’s move. The pieces are already in motion."
