Chapter - 7

  Transformation.

  "Really this place again. Everything is dark here. Feels like an endless pit. If I can enter there must be a way to get out also." said Taro.

  "Thers is no escape. This place was built by me. Only I can enter and leave." said ???

  "A talking shadow! You.. You.. why did you take me here? Fight like a real man." said Taro.

  "You forgot. Great. Taro huh? Why would you choose this name? Whatever. Goodbye. You don't know that yet."

  The shadow raised Taro above the ground. The moment he got out of that place he rushed towards back to the village.

  "I can see someone sir! It seems like one of our soldier. What!? How is he alive? Sir it's Taro." said the soldier.

  "Let him in. Before he enters surround him and bring him to me in the court." said the warden.

  When Taro entered through the shield he was quickly surrounded and taken to court for answers. Everyone in the kingdom was talking about him. Even the king seemed interested in him.

  "Tell me. How did you survive?" Said the warden.

  "I told you. There were 3 shadows not 2. The shadow that took me had very different eye. The eye is divided into 4 parts. On right part of the eye was written commander. In upper part Rank 2. And in the left a rose was drawn. He said that I didn't know something yet. He raised me up somehow and threw me out of the ground." Said Taro frightened.

  "The king is coming. All preparations are made."Said a soldier.

  "Good. The king will decide this boy's faith." Said the warden.

  The boy was taken by the king. The king asked him many questions and it appeared that Taro was still allowed to stay in the kingdom. But everything was not alright. People in kingdom still questioned him but king assured them.

  "Sir! Sir! The shield is broken. The shadows are entering through and a shadow having supernatural powers." Said the soldier frightened.

  All the soldiers available in the country gathered to defeat the shadows. The battle to the death began.

  "From depth of the sea. To the heights of the sky. Where the power lie. Body shatters, Ego dries. The spikes of wrath. Commence." Said the shadow.

  "That's the same shadow i was talking about earlier." Said Taro to warden.

  Before the warden could speak anything a spike from the sky fell on him resulting in his death. While approaching the enemy, Taro saw two children. The moments of that day flashed in Taro's mind.

  "I won't let this happen. The things I had to bear. Run with all your might. Run with your family kids. I am holding them back" said Taro shaking with fear.

  While Taro was protecting the kids, The soldiers were falling and turning into shadows. The commander ordered the soldiers to repair and shift the shield inward and retreat. Out of 1000 Soldiers who had reached the battlefield only 361 survived.

  "The shield is closing every soldier retreat!" Said the commander.

  "I couldn't do anything. I didn't even kill a shadow. At least I saved those kids. Wait! Is that... No! No! No! Why didn't you run? I told you to. I did nothing. I couldn't even save them. Why?" Said Taro crying.

  The scene shifts to Taro returning to base.

  "I am so glad you are safe Taro. I thought you were gonna die. How did y-" Said M

  "Shut up! I couldn't save those children. I didn't even kill a shadow. All of the training, risking my life. For nothing. Why? Why? Please leave me alone M. I don't want to talk." Said Taro sobbing.

  "Okay Taro. I think you do need some space." Said M.

  After that day, Taro started training hard. A single strike from his sword could cut a wall into pieces. He started turning cold. Not caring about anyone. He became an absolute monster from that day on. He stopped talking to M but she never did. M would talk whenever she could get a chance. Taro wasn't completely cold yet. He actually did spent some time roaming around the kingdom with M. But sometimes, Happiness doesn't last long. You have to earn it.

  "Shadow King where are you? I searched everywhere but can't find you. I saw a boy today with great courage will but cries alot. He cries cause he cares about friendships and don't want them to end. I will find you my lord!" Said ???
