Inside out

Looking at the building in front of them, Lent couldn't help but wondered if this was the right place. He knew this was most likely the case but he didn't trust the backup's info that much.

"You sure?" He asked as he looked at her.

The android seemed confused and turned to him before asking.

  "What?"

Lent tilted his head to the side of the building they were standing in front of and signaled her.

"Yeah, this is the right place." She nodded.

The reason Lent asked in the in the first place was due to the building being a clock factory. Out of all things, he could have imagined the clock factory was not the place he thought Julo would be in.

"The backup is here, right?" He asked.

The backup in question was the person that told them the location in the first place. He had no idea how the backup got it but he wasn't gonna complain.

  "I believe so." She replied.

He looked at the factory in front of them before going in. The factory was huge but it was to be expected.

Lent looked around carefully due to the unknown threats present. However, everyone was already far ahead when he finished looking around. He sighed before following them.

The insides were mostly white and had multiple rooms. In fact, it was soo white that Lent couldn't open his eyes that much due to the brightness.

Of course, the 3 hours sleep had a effect on this too.

But that didn't really matter at the moment, he was already used to not getting sleep due to playing games up late.

He looked around to see clocks being made everywhere. He didn't care about the clocks that much. All he cared about was getting the new member home safety.

He didn't know why he was accepted but since the other members welcomed him, he did too. He didn't like him that much like the other members since he was mostly on his phone.

As he walked, his leg started to feel weird. At first, he ignored the feeling, however when he couldn't walk as fast as before, he started becoming worried. He looked down to see a faint thread on his leg.

His face instantly tensed up as he turned around. However, a punch was already beside his face.

Normally, a punch like that would have miss but the thread on his leg was pulling him to the left where the fist was.

Just as the fist got near his face, it missed. The miss looked like it was from a rookie, however the person behind the punch was no rookie.

Lent carefully observed the person that was attacking before backing up. And that was difficult with the thread still attached.

"GUYS." He shouted, catching the attention of the other members.

Despite this, the person attacking didn't seem to give up yet.

Lent made eye contact as they both stared at each other. The man had white hair with abnormal round face.

The attacker's fingers were shaking and they moved around rapidly. Lent quickly caught onto the movement and immediately knew that the enemy can control one's body parts.

"He can most likely control body parts." He said quietly to the members. Of course, he didn't really know if the other heard him or not but he could only assume so.

He tried to move backward but it was to no avail. He couldn't move his leg anymore.

He could move them just fine a few seconds ago but it wasn't working anymore.

No, to say it wasn't working wasn't correct. The legs were working, however something was stopping it. And that something was a thread. The thread was going to be problematic.

He looked at the thread and tried cutting it with his hand.

The thread was slightly separated and he could move his leg again. Albeit, not that much.

Unfortunately, he didn't have time to move his leg as the attacker suddenly got in front of him before throwing another fist.

Lent was currently in the process of reacting to the attack, however he didn't have time to dodge.

Despite this, he missed the attack like before.

His eyes narrowed as he backed up again.

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

Lent raised his hand to block the attack but to his surprise, he was already far away from him.

  . He thought.

Although, the duration of Lent cutting the thread with his hand was really small. It was still enough for him to quickly close the distance and attack.

The only reason he wasn't hit was due to his Versile.

His Versile was basically telekinesis but with a few drawbacks.

He couldn't control objects yet, that was still outside his limit as an Uncoiled.

What he could do was place a invisible barrier around his body that acted like a medium.

If somebody was trying to punch Lent, which was happening right now, they would encounter a magnetic like force that repels the fist to another side.

Although, one could actually punch him if they really tried.

He looked at the person, however he disappeared into nothing. Lent jumped a little before trying to find him around the area where he disappeared. Of course, his guard was high.

As he looked ahead trying to find the other person as soon as possible, there was multiple loud bangs before he could see him again. Hitomi had fired rounds of bullets in a area that had no one. Well, that's what Lent thinks.

When in reality, he hadn't gone anywhere. In fact, he was trying to attack the other members. How he remained invisible was using his thread to bend lights to fool them. However, he couldn't fool an android's sight.

It was already flawed by the way it works. A person with extreme eyesight could notice the blurry effect and tell that someone was behind it.

And pair that with Hitomi being a modified human and you will most likely not be able to fool her. Well, at least as an Overlapped.

The bullets fired did not hit the person whatsoever as the bullets missed unnaturally just like Lent's Versile.

Lent's fist clenched before using his Versile to switch protection to Hitomi.

  'He's fucking learning.' He thought.

A learning enemy was one of the most kind.

The enemy Lent wanted was a person that is used to winning. That way, most of them wouldn't try to learn.

As the fist missed Hitomi, he turned to Lent and rushed to him.

Lent tried to dodge but he was a second too late. Lucky, Travestita grabbed him and pushed him to the side.

A finger hit his eye and he instantly covered his eye with his hand. The man had realized that if he protects the other people then he can't protect himself.

It was rather unfortunate that he managed to figure it out soo quickly. Lent wished that Gino was here instead of him, his Versile was 10x better at defending than him but it was no use wishing now.

'We just have to hold off until the backup comes back...Right?'

  ***

Looking at the red book in front of him, Julo couldn't help but come closer to it. He picked up the book before observing it closely.

The book's cover was simple. It was made of a high quality material as he lay his fingers on it. There was a simple vertical line with a shadow. Julo recognized what it was.

  It was a sun dial.

He looked at it before opening the book. He read the contents in it and after a while he started being engrossed in it. Heavily engrossed.

He couldn't look away no matter how hard he tried. His mind started to fill up knowledge he can't remember as his skin started turned inside out. The interlayer of his flesh started to become visible. His eyes started to bleed as he kept reading it.

  "Time." He read.

  "Space."

"Imagination." He began to say the name of the domains without control.

'STO-STOP REA-READING YOU BASTARD.' He thought, however he didn't stop.

"Life." No, it wasn't that he was reading this because it was on the paper. No, it was because that's what he could comprehend. The contents on the paper were completely different.

  "Creation."

  "Law.....Concept."

"......Logic?" With that he managed to escaped free and his body slowly returned to normal.

"How did you survive?" He heard the voice and turned around instantly.

"How did you survive reading that?"

Julo stared at him before taking out his gun and attempting to shoot him. However, time sped up as he suddenly jumped to him. Despite the time being sped up, Julo somehow managed to react faster as he dodged to the left, letting his shoulder take the impact.

He was propelled backward by the punch as he tried to stand up but he wasn't gonna let him do that.

Julo looked up to see another punch flying in his way, this time he closed his eyes until he heard a gun shot.

He slowly opened his eyes to see the kidnapper on the ground with his hand bleeding. He looked at the person that shot at him before dodging another bullet. The person that shot the kidnapper was a person with blonde hair and she had a lollipop in her mouth.

Julo watched the situation and took advantage as he ran out of the room. Lucky, they were still busy fighting.

She fought him, intensely. However, he seemed to notice Julo's disappearance and used his Versile to daze her for a bit.

She stood there for a second only to gain her clarity back before chasing after him. He ran after Julo and was slightly annoyed at the fact that Julo had more resistance to his power than before. And, it didn't help that he now recognized him as a threat after seeing him survive reading that

Julo kept on running to a place he didn't know yet but he kept on running. That was until his mind was suddenly filled with the intent to go to the kidnapper.

It wasn't a forceful thing. In fact, it was like a deju vu but more intense. He stopped as he struggled to pull himself from running towards the direction of certain death.

He ignored the deju vu and kept running.

He looked around for any exits but none were present until his leg suddenly felt numb. He fell down without any warning.

The pill's effect had ran out.

He looked at the person that was rapidly approaching him from a distance and felt a feeling of helplessness. As a last ditch effort, he took out the book and showed it to the person in hopes that it was a cognitive hazard.

The kidnapper looked at the book as he grew closer before opening his eyes wide open and closing his eyes. He laid on the ground and tried to forget many things as possible.

  But it was too late.

His skin started to turn inside out and his flesh was like Julo from behind. However, this one was more gruesome.

Julo watched as he turned into a being that could not even be described. His mouth was wide opened as he heard the person screaming.

  "I DIDN'T LOOK." He screamed.

But it was becoming more muffled by the second. Julo took another look before the thing

He raised his arm as the book flew towards the creature's 'mouth' as if it even have one now. The flesh slowly crawled towards it as it tried to stuff itself into every part of the book until only the outline was visible in the mountains of flesh.

While pushing it deeper, Julo twisted his body as he crawled towards a exit which he did not know the location of.
