Chapter 12: The day of meeting

Hairs fluttering in front of his eyes, solely focused on reviving the contents of the report.

  ' sigh'

"Will this suffice?", mumbling to himself he had a thousand questions.

  'Was it really a Dravkin?'

'How did it get into the room?'

  'Where was it hiding?'

  'Was it able to talk?'

'Why did it vanished once it got its hands on your blood?'

To clear the mind he stepped out for a moment and before he knew he was standing in front of Aira's room.

A sharp knock echoed through the quiet hallway.

  Knock. Knock.

  “Yes—yes, sir, just a moment!”

Aira hurried toward the door, her movements rushed and slightly unsteady as she pulled it open.

  Sir Kael stood outside.

Seeing him first thing in the morning made her heart skip—then sink. The memories of yesterday came crashing back all at once, and heat rushed to her cheeks. She flushed deeply, instinctively lowering her gaze.

“Are you still not feeling well?”

His voice was gentle, but his eyes were sharp with concern. He bent slightly, bringing himself closer, and lifted a hand toward her forehead. Aira felt a cool touch brush her skin as he checked for fever, his brows knitting when he noticed the faint redness lingering on her face.

  She froze.

  Words abandoned her completely.

  “Aira?”

  No response.

“Miss Aira,” he called again, firmer this time.

  Still nothing.

Sir Kael placed both hands on her shoulders and gave her a light shake. “Miss Aira, are you alright?”

She startled as if waking from a dream and stumbled a step backward.

“N-no! No, it’s nothing!” she blurted out. “I-I’m sorry for worrying you. I’m totally fine. Really.”

Her words came out rushed and uneven, betraying her composure.

“But you don’t seem to—” Sir Kael began, taking a step closer.

  She cut him off immediately.

“Sir Kael! I am perfectly fine. See?”

Before he could stop her, she jumped in place. “I can even jump!”

The moment her feet touched the ground again, the world tilted.

Her legs wobbled, and she swayed dangerously, the strength draining from her body in an instant. She would have fallen if not for the firm grip that caught her around the waist.

Sir Kael steadied her, holding her upright with practiced ease.

“Aira,” he said quietly, his tone firm now, “you’re not fine.”

She bit her lip, unable to argue.

After a moment, he sighed. “If you truly feel better by noon, then come visit my room. I want to hear everything—every detail—about what happened yesterday.”

  She hesitated… then nodded.

  “Yes, sir.”

After leaving her room, Sir Kael adjusted his cloak and made his way down the corridor. His expression had hardened, the worry now replaced by calculation.

Instead of returning to his quarters, he headed toward the far end of the hallway.

A single door stood there—unmarked and unassuming.

  He opened it.

  Darkness swallowed the room whole.

The instant he stepped inside, the door closed silently behind him. The chamber was pitch black, save for a faint blue slot embedded in the center of a long table.

Sir Kael placed his ring against it.

The slot reacted immediately, glowing brighter as the ring was recognized.

“Welcome, Ruby Master,” a calm, artificial voice announced.

From the center of the table, a blue orb slowly emerged, levitating into the air. Its surface shimmered like liquid light, rotating gently as it stabilized.

One by one, five empty chairs around the table became occupied—not physically, but through light.

Thin beams shot out from the orb, each ray connecting to a chair. Moments later, holographic figures formed: the other sword masters, observing from afar.

All the masters were already discussing about the situations of their region.

In the Teravyn there are five Severns casted on the magic circle to stop the appearance of monster. For every domain a sword master is chosen by the sword and they are tasked with eliminating any monster emerged through the circle in the Severn. They are obligated to provide every report to the lord.

Each Master is recognized and named after the jewels embedded in their swords.

Master Emerald," Ahhh....finally the the man of the hour has arrived."

" Where is she?", Master Sapphire asked.

Master Ruby implied," she shall be here by noon ."

Master Amethyst dragged," Is she unwell,"

  Sir Kael nodded slightly.

Master Emerald raised his concerns," I hope you are well versed in taking care of a mere mortal,"

Before Master could speak the voice announced.

" Praise to the lord of the heaven, the lord the heavenly generals, Lord Serathen has arrived..."

With the Lord's arrival everyone stood up and bowed to him. Their right hand was on their chest while the other held back side, every one lowered their gaze awaiting for his orders.

Lord Serathen sat at the highly positioned seat," Lift your head and let the meeting commence."

The meeting commenced as usual, all the Sword Masters were giving their reports. These reports are more like the research on the monsters, the destruction caused by them, changes in their pattern or their strengths and all there is to them.

"Sword Master Emerald, Lord of Eastern region."

" My Lord, thus far we had been under continued attacks of the monsters. But for the first time in history, for a whole month we were not attacked. The reason behind this sudden decrease in the spawning of monsters is mysterious indeed, we haven't yet found any leads on this matter thus the search for this uncommon behavior of the magic circle is in the process. That concludes my report My Lord."

" Sword Masters, Lord asks for your opinions in this matter."

" Sword Master Amethyst, The Lord of Central region."

" My Lord, my humble opinions overlap with report of Master Emerald. The very situation is in the Southern region."

  While other Masters--

'Sword Master Sapphire, Lord of Northern region.'

'Sword Master Black-Onyx, Lord of Southern Region.'

----nodded on their opinions and agreed with them. While all the Masters were sharing the report the Lord's eyes were fixated on Master Ruby waiting for his report.
