The journey continued without much of a problem. After several hours, the caravan stopped and made a small camp.
Behind them was a big mountain wall, so it was almost impossible to get attacked from that high, and one or two sides of them were open.
If something bad were to happen, it would be pretty easy to defend the camp. At least it would be easier than just getting attacked on the road.
While the time passed on the road, Marcus ruminated on his use of the "Fmes" spell for the first time.
The difference of using it in real combat and just testing was much greater.
The feel of the fme in his hands, consuming magicka to keep on casting the spell. Everything had a lot of areas that he could delve into and research.
"I feel like, if I wanted, I could manipute fire differently as I use the 'fmes'.
Marcus at this point already understood that he would be making a lot of mistakes if he were to think that the spells work like in the game.
The "Fmes" spell in the game was a novice, run-of-the-mill spell that is a joke for most of the people.
It can only be used to spray a fire cone in front of the caster. That was it.
But now that he used it for real, he understood that the complexity and versatility were different.
As the camp made its way, Marcus took a walk towards the outside of the camp. He did not go much, just about two to three hundred metres away from the eyes of others.
It would be not logical to try and test his spells in the camp as he already know the people thoughts regarding magic and mages.
After he arrived at a snowy ground surrounded by some of the trees and was able to see the camp without much of a problem, he ducked down and then willed.
"Fmes."
With his will and intention, a small burning fire, simir to a torch, manifested in his hands.
While, in his hands, the spell did not consume magicka or anything, in reality, it did, but the consumed magicka was too negligible for any mage that was worth its salt to even feel it.
He then closed his eyes and focused on the fmes with his hands, and then the fmes changed a little bit of shape, and then he smirked as he looked at it.
With some imagination, the fmes in his hands turned to the shape of a "dagger".
A fme dagger. Maintaining the shape of the fmes in the form of a dagger now started consuming some magicka.
It was still nothing as Magicka regenerated as it was consumed one of the big difference again compared to the game.
Marcus did not remember Magicka was regenerated while actively using the spell.
"Maybe?" he whispered.
"The use of 'fmes' like this is not considered the use of a spell in this world and its ws, while it consumes magicka; the w of magic lets the magicka regenerate due to not considering it a proper spell."
Marcus said.
He then focused on the snowy branches on the ground for a moment and then took one of them with his empty hand and with a whisper and will to engage the fmes.
The branch in his hands was covered in fme and then started burning.
"My fmes, while providing a lot of warmth to me like real fire, do not hurt me due to them being created by my magicka."
"As long as I can cast magic, it would be really hard to die from cold or anything, and building a campfire is easy as it gets. I guess it is the same for cooking too." Marcus thought.
He then thought for a moment, and his eyes opened like he noticed something.
"I am from Modern Earth. I wonder if I can use some of the creativity from there to use my magic in a different form."
"Let's see…" he dropped the branch that was burning and then again readied the "Fme" spell in his hands without casting it and then slowly started making it more powerful by fuelling it with more magicka.
One second, two seconds, three seconds, and in five seconds, the fmes that were inside of his hands grow bigger to the size of a human head.
He then focused and maniputed it. Trying to squeeze the fireball within his hands, the fire began to get smaller and smaller. Getting powerful but smaller in volume.
A compressed ball of fire.
He then targeted a small fire and was about to try to use it like a fireball, but he shook his head.
"That is too basic..."
He thought and then imagined that fire in his hands, in its compressed form, would act like a ser.
With power and will, he willed it.
The fire in him responded, and he felt 20% of his magicka be depleted instantly as he willed it, and then a ser of fire, in a line directly shot from his hand to the tree.
"Wisppp!"
The fire ser penetrated the tree five metres in front of him and continued to penetrate more than several trees before extinguishing after fifty metres.
"The power..."
"The capability of this spell is really great," Marcus thought.
"Today, I learned that with imagination and control, I can control the spells, and I do not need to just use them as they come in the game..."
"This is a great discovery that would help me a lot," he thought and then went back to the camp to not get any attention on himself.
He also noted that the more power and more manipution he did with the novice-level spell "Fmes", the more magicka he spent for just one use of the same spell.
