Chapter 012: The Chase

  Chapter 012: The Chase

"Keeping you alive is nothing but trouble." Wang Xing's heart skipped a beat as he looked into Yang Tian's bloodshot eyes. He then signaled to his guards with a stern expression, "It doesn't matter if it's related or not, what's important is that you must die today."

  Swish!

As soon as his words fell, the five guards beside him moved swiftly, their vital energy surging, all locking onto Yang Tian. Simultaneously, they dashed forward.

"Want to kill me? Let's see if you have the ability!" Facing the five figures charging at him, Yang Tian swiftly moved into the surrounding forest, leaving behind a cold laugh.

"So fast!" The lead guard's expression changed drastically as his attack missed. In just a year, Yang Tian dared to venture alone into the Beast Mountains, indicating his strength was no less than theirs.

"What a strange kid. Given a few more years, he might break through to the Martial Warrior realm." Seeing Yang Tian's speed, a trace of surprise flashed in Wang Xing's eyes, followed by a sinister killing intent seeping from within.

Since childhood, his father had taught him to eliminate threats permanently. Yang Tian's talent frightened him; reaching such heights in just over a year, he couldn't imagine how far Yang Tian might go in the future.

"What are you standing around for? Chase him! We must catch that little beast!" Wang Xing suddenly roared, rushing towards where Yang Tian had disappeared. Several figures followed closely behind.

In the forest, Yang Tian's speed reached its limit. Having trained in this area for a month, he was extremely familiar with the terrain. As he ran, the fury in his heart burned fiercely.

"If anything happens to my foster father, your Star Martial Hall won't even have the right to atone with your lives!" Sensing the dissipating danger behind him, Yang Tian hid in a cave, forcing himself to calm down.

"What in the Dragon Star Martial Hall could make them go to such lengths? Why didn't my foster father mention it?" After pondering for a while, Yang Tian fell into deep confusion.

In the silence, the sound of hurried footsteps erupted. Yang Tian's heart tightened. He pressed his hand against the ground, exerting force, and silently moved to the cave entrance, peering through a crack.

"Damn it, this kid runs faster than a rabbit!" A burly man behind him gasped for breath, cursing.

Wang Xing's extremely gloomy gaze swept across the forest. Frowning, he said, "A Li, go back and inform my father. Have him station men at the exits. We must catch Yang Tian, or else Lin Yuan won't talk even if beaten to death."

"Yes, young master." The man named A Li nodded, then swiftly moved towards the outskirts.

"Let's split up. You four divide into two groups and search east and west. We must find that little beast Yang Tian. Remember, alive!" Wang Xing's cold gaze swept forward as he dashed ahead.

"Beast!" Yang Tian stepped out, his gaze fixed on where Wang Xing had disappeared. A chilling killing intent surged, freezing the very air.

"Since you want me dead, let's see who dies first." Yang Tian's eyes were icy, his youthful face filled with murderous intent. He then swiftly moved towards the east.

The dense forest was swept by a gust of wind, stirring waves of green. The scent of blood occasionally wafted through the air. Compared to a month ago, the beasts in the Beast Mountains had significantly decreased, thanks to the dragon-shaped jade pendant within Yang Tian.

The sunset blazed like fire. The brief tranquility of the forest was soon broken by the sound of hurried footsteps. A disheveled figure rushed from afar, desperately pushing aside the branches blocking his path.

On his body, several horrifying wounds were bleeding profusely. His face was covered in scratches, clearly from branches during his escape.

Yet, this didn't hinder his flight. The lingering fear on his face gradually faded, replaced by a relieved smile after running several miles.

Sensing no footsteps behind him, the red-faced man sat down, taking deep breaths. The wounds on his body bled anew.

"That little beast is relentless. Once I gather my men, I'll crush every bone in his body." Staring at the three fatal wounds, the red-faced man's voice was filled with venomous hatred, though the joy of survival lightened his gloom.

  "Heh, keep running."

A mocking voice slowly rang out. The red-faced man's expression froze, his momentary joy replaced by sheer terror. He frantically tried to run.

But in the next moment, his body suddenly halted. He saw his feet leave the ground, and a new, horrifying fist mark appeared on his thigh.

  "Ah—"

A heart-wrenching scream echoed deep within the mountains. Yang Tian's cold gaze fell on the man's twisted face. "If you don't want to die, tell me about the Dragon Star Martial Hall."

"Haha—" The man suddenly roared, "You think I'm a coward? Go ahead, kill me! I'll never talk!"

"Fine, you're a tough one." Yang Tian licked his lips, then single-handedly lifted the man and dashed forward.

"What are you doing?" A sudden sense of foreboding rose in the man's heart, his fear intensifying.

"Heh, you'll find out soon. Let's see how tough your bones are." Yang Tian coldly smiled, bringing the man to a dark cave.

Outside the cave, several young saber-toothed tigers were sleeping. In front of them lay a pile of beast carcasses and human bones, along with a few bloodied remains. A savage aura instantly filled the air.

"You... you..." The man's terrified gaze took in the scene. He struggled violently, panicking, "You can't do this! We're both humans! You can't!"

"I'll count to three. If I don't hear what I want, I'll throw you in." Yang Tian glanced at the man, a cold laugh in his heart.

  "One!"

The man's heart trembled as he looked at the sleeping tigers.

  "Two!"

The voice of death slowly rang out.

  "Three..."

"You win." The man instantly collapsed, cold sweat pouring down his back. He looked up at Yang Tian's youthful face. "I'll tell you, but you must spare my life."

  "Deal." Yang Tian nodded.

"Wang Xing wants to force your foster father to talk. There's a formation in the backyard of the Dragon Star Martial Hall, but it requires an access code. Your foster father hasn't spoken yet."

"What's inside the formation?" Yang Tian asked, puzzled. He had no knowledge of the formation in the backyard.

"I don't know... I really don't." The man shook his head frantically, fearing Yang Tian would throw him to the tigers.

"I'll believe you for now. How's my foster father?" Yang Tian's cold gaze bore into the man.

"He's fine. Without the access code, your foster father will be safe."

Seeing Yang Tian relax, the man's face filled with a flattering smile. "Young master, can I go now?"

"Sure." Yang Tian patted the man's shoulder, a smirk on his lips, then swiftly moved away.

Relieved, the man's joy was short-lived as a sharp howl suddenly erupted.

"Roar!" The sleeping tigers were instantly awakened, their eyes locking onto the man's stunned face. In an instant, they pounced towards him.

"You little beast, you tricked me!" The man's venomous scream echoed as his body, about to flee, collapsed. Blood poured from the wounds on his thighs.

"Thud! Thud!" The sound of rushing paws reached him in two breaths.

  "Crunch!"

From a tree, Yang Tian's cold eyes watched the man. As the life faded from his body, Yang Tian swiftly moved away.
