Zephyr hung around her watching her more cautiously than usual. And just like he did with walking he now spoke with the most eloquent phrases overnight.
Which sent the mad scientists into a fit of glee.
Asking him questions over and over. Trying to get even a little of Zephyr’s attention. Zephyr though looked at the like they were annoyances.
Annoyance’s he often tried to escape.
Like he was right then.
“You call me Zephyr.” He stated like an accusation. She paused and met his eyes.
“It’s your name.” She informed him. Or at least it was supposed to be later on in the story she just used it early.
Looking over Zephyr and his grey toned hair that was almost the same shade as her own, she allowed herself for the first time to wonder if they were related. The warning never had a sister for Zephyr and they did in fact go into vast detail on the family that’s blood created some of the greatest destruction so she felt she would know if there was.
Stolen story; please report.
Their eyes were different.
His eyes were a intense predatory red. While hers were the most muted of greyed brown.
“They call me One.” He pointed out looking at the Mad scientists. She followed the evaluating gaze.
“One and Two are numbers. They don’t see us as human.” She explained. “We are though.” She said with a conviction she was forgetting of late that she didn’t always have.
“I am Zephyr. What are you?” He asked looking pointedly at her again.
She stumbled over that question.
She didn’t often think of herself as anything. After all she’d been required to cast aside all that she was when she joined the temple… She sucked in a breath not wanting to think of the temple that existed in a before.
“You named me to remember?” She offered picking up the card he had used to indicate her. He frowned and nodded but looked confused.
“How about Elytra. It’s this part of the wing, the part that protects. I’ll always protect us in my way.” She promised him.
Zephyr looked at the card and touched the shimmering wing and nodded.
“Elytra.” He agreed.
“Why am I Zephyr?” He asked.
“Because you are as silent as a soft breeze.” She voiced only part of the description in the warnings. Zephyr was as silent as a breeze as lethal as a blade to the neck.
Zephyr nodded again, seeming to accept that.
