Previously on the last season of: Maybe Elar isn't such a great place to take a vacation...
Jeremy Murray was just a regular guy. A regular guy who loved gaming, trading Bitcoins, and staying in-doors in his momma’s house. He read LitRPG and fantasy novels and longed for a simple Isekai or XianXia slice of life story of his own. What he got was turned into a frog. A magical frog. A magical frog with a satchel full of potions and a tendency to scream things like “Shock the crap outta him!” mid-battle.
As a Level 5 Frog Shaman, he has a growing list of magical powers, a trauma backlog longer than his tongue lash range, and a cute familiar hell bent on sassing his way into your heart.
Let’s recap.
Jeremy was kicked out of Louisiana by force and sent to another planet in God knows what galaxy. Thanks a lot fate!
Jeremy’s journey through this mystical world has been anything but relaxing. He’s been stabbed, kicked, mana-drained, and beaten with sticks by creatures called Griefbinders.
These creatures, along with other wisps and freaks of nature, are total jerks who serve Vaerunel, a god who’s not exactly known for his warm hugs and positive vibes. They hate Nivalár, the deity Jeremy’s loosely aligned with and will kill anyone who serves her on sight. Lucky Jeremy!
Jeremy survived long enough to make it to the next season, but will he figure out what the hell is going on, why magic is mutating everything, and whether his frog legs can outrun...or outjump...a soul anchor?

Thankfully, Jeremy’s not alone. He’s got Melorien—a stealthy, teleporting, water-slinging companion who’s equal parts adorable and deadly and Rovek—a grumpy Orc with a soft side.
Together, they fought off the forces of evil and completed quests for Nivalár. Quests like:
The Shrine of Nivalár
Simple. Find and repair a shrine that’s been defiled by evil wisps. The repairs were made as instructed. Mission success. Nobody died... at least.
The Tear Beneath the Veil
Things got a little more complicated, but with the help of Captian Karn Veylan, Jeremy, Elionas and Melorien find the shrine hidden under a statue, because of course that’s where it would be. They descend into a damp, pitch-black tunnel that smells like regret and wet socks, and find themselves in a chamber straight out of dungeon crawler lore. They figure out the puzzles acquiring just a bit of trauma to keep with them for the rest of their lives.
Jeremy was forced to relive painful moments from his past: Guilt. Envy. Fear. Blame. Abandonment. Regret. Helplessness.
It was like therapy, but with monsters waiting to incinerate you if you screw up.
Then they face the final boss: The Moonwarden. He was way too strong for them, but with the help from the goddess, they win.
Jeremy and his friends lick their wounds, not literally cuz...gross, but the glow of victory is swiftly dimmed and replaced by sudden treachery.
Karn kills Elionas with a sword to the back, and Jeremy had to take a human life for the first time.
Will Jeremy ever get a break from emotionally devastating puzzles?
Will he ever please Nivalár enough so she sends him home? I mean, how many quests do you need him to do, lady?
Will he keep his stomach inside his body this season?
Find out in the next chapter of Swamp?pocalypse: Elar Has Its Downsides, where the frog gets fiercer, the magic gets weirder, and the stakes are even higher.
