B5 | Chapter 41

  Alexia

After several minutes going over my skills, I eventually settle on two skills in particular. Both of which I pull up before slotting.

[Quantum Collapse: Allows the user to force a target into a state of absolute death across all realities, probabilities, and existences. This skill cannot be blocked, healed from, or avoided. Attempts at resurrection in any manner are impossible. This skill cannot be used unless the target is considered to be considerably weakened.]

[Quantum Vampirism: The user passively drains mana, health, and any other type of energy from everything they see. Be it other living beings, undead beings, or simple attacks. The user may then either merge the energy into their own body to refill their soul, or they may unleash it all in one powerful attack.]

Both of these skills should help me a lot.

Quantum Collapse can help me kill the boss when it’s significantly weakened without having to go the extra mile to finish it off myself. Almost like a shortcut of sorts.

And Quantum Vampirism should help me last as long as I can. Simply by draining as much energy as I can from the boss while fighting against it.

Because I’ll need as much as I can get. What with not being able to use the Quantum Realm’s energy while fighting in my regular form.

Quantum Vampirism should also level up at a rapid pace since it’s a passive skill that’ll be active throughout the battle.

As for Quantum Collapse? I’ve tested it out before on other enemies to see how useful it is. And the only real effect leveling up seems to have on it is determining how much I have to weaken the enemy to use it.

The enemy’s level doesn’t matter as much as I’d think.

Tier does limit how weak they have to be though. But not level.

The boss will have to be left with around three to five percent of its health for the skill to finish it off. But in a battle like this, that’s a lot of health remaining.

Not to mention that a lot of bosses like to use powerful attacks and go berserk at the end of their lives. No doubt in an attempt to take their enemies down with them.

Using this skill should let me skip that last burst.

I purse my lips for a few seconds before going ahead and training these two skills a little bit. Just to level them up real fast to Tier 2 at least.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.

Which is possible thanks to my new Ascendant Tier being so powerful that it lets me literally teleport across the universe in the blink of an eye. Making it so the Ascendants chasing me can’t even find where I teleport to without scrying for me.

And even then, by the time they reach where I teleport to, I’m already long gone. Having teleported far away by then.

So it’s too late for them now.

As for my parents? They both had to retreat. Because taking on nearly three dozen Ascendants alone is tough even for them. Especially since they both just ascended themselves.

I doubt they’ll leave forever though.

Not until I ask them to, that is.

And I do just that. I ask them to leave those three or so dozen Ascendants be.

Because they’re my prey now. I’ve already marked them all, and there’s no way I’ll ever forget them.

My eyes narrow at that thought as I finish getting the two new skills to Tier 2. Then I take a break to restore all of my energy.

Before finally opening my dungeon again and passing through it, closing the entrance after that.

And what I find after entering the dungeon is a lot of nothing. Along with one enormous creature that is clearly asleep far in the distance.

By the looks of it, the creature has been asleep for a while. And it’s eaten everything in the dungeon.

It probably fell asleep after doing just that and finding itself without any prey to hunt.

I take a deep breath before studying the thing, identifying it as I do so.

  {Charybdis – The Endless Maw – Level 2502}

The creature looks just as disgusting and terrifying as the last time I saw it, and its level is even higher. Albeit by only a single level.

No doubt from eating all of the monsters in the dungeon.

It’s kind of saying something how the thing can eat an entire Tier 5 dungeon and only gain one level though.

Anyway, the creature is larger than multiple large planets. It has the body of a killer whale, tentacles of a kraken, five scorpion stingers, a lantern hanging down in front of its face, and more fish parts than I can count. Even more than the last time I saw it.

Once again, it’s both terrifying and creepy. And it somehow looks more terrifying than creepy despite its appearance. Almost like it just gives off an aura of intimidation.

  Which is probably does.

  Some sort of skill, maybe?

It’s kinda scary how it can give off an aura like that even while asleep though.

  Still.

  Charybdis, The Endless Maw.

It’s finally time to fight it.

But I should take advantage of it being asleep to get in a powerful hit on the thing before waking it up.

I take a deep breath before focusing on skill I’ve been saving up for ages now.

[Observation Effect Absorption: Allows the user to automatically absorb a very minimal amount of energy from every magical attack they see along with some environmental effects that generate energy. They may then use that energy to perform a powerful attack.]

I could’ve tried using it on the Ascendants attacking me, but at most it would just let me kill off one or two of them in one massive blow. So I decided to save it.

Especially since all of their numerous attacks let me charge the skill up quite a bit. Enough that this skill should have enough juice in it to power an Ascendant Tier attack.

It is powered by the energy from Ascendant Tier magical attacks, after all.

So it’s time to start this battle.

My last battle before Ascendant Tier.
