  Orie heard these words just before he woke up. He looked around in confusion, trying to figure out where he was. The last thing he could remember was that he was surrounded by dust in the arena.

  He looked at the nurse who seemed surprised for a reason and asked "how long have I been here?"

  "F... Four days" the nurse answered nervously and Orie remain silent

  "We thought you were dead" she added

  "Who won?" Orie asked

  "What?" The nurse replied, still shaken up

  "My fight" Orie rephrased

  "Who won?"

  "Well..." The nurse replied

  "The other guy was disqualified so..."

  "... I guess you won"

  "Oh" Orie said as he tried to get off from the bed but the but the nurse immediately moved to stop him.

  "You just woke up sir" she said

  "We can't let you walk around till we know for sure that you're okay"

  "I'm okay" Orie replied as he got down from the bed but the nurse immediately got in front of him saying "no no no no no no, you need to rest" but he immediately replied "I can't"

  "There's somewhere I need to be" he said as gently brushed her aside and walked out.

  "Ellie porter here"

  "Many of you might not know why the stadium is so full today"

  "Well it's because two of the tournaments most promising fighters are having a clash today"

  "The turn out for this fight is almost as good the finals of last year"

  "Many people keep saying that it would have been nice if this fight happened in the finals"

  "Anyways let me introduce you to today's fighters"

  "The first is Kaen Amano"

  "He's not a new face so we already know much about him"

  "The one everybody is curious about is the person that the son of fire is facing off against"

  "Though she's a daughter of the prestigious house of Fubuki, she still keeps a low profile"

  "The homeroom teacher for first year Non-royal class"

  "Everyone's favorite biology teacher"

  "Natsumi Fubuki"

  *whisper*"ps, she is also Orie's girlfriend (I miss him already)"

  "Alright, let's watch"

  "It's about to start"

  There is a kind of silence that fills a place when something serious is about to happen. It's not that no sound is made but that most of the sounds being made are not perceived due to a high level of focus. Such silence was the one occurring at the moment.

  As soon as the starting buzzer broke the silence, Kaen immediately charged up a fireball and shot it at Natsumi but she quickly brought up a wall of ice to block it. The wall of ice fell but it succeeded in blocking the attack.

  The son of fire didn't waste time in launching another attack. This time, from over five different directions. Balls of red hot flames hovered around him and he shot them at an incredible speed. He had good control as he could cause the flames to move in ways that were difficult to predict.

  Natsumi was blocking every shot that came at her. She was quick to react to her opponent's attacks and all the patterns he used but it was still a prevalent observation that she was being overpowered.

  Every defense she set up was brought down in one shot and every of her attacks melted before they could reach her opponent. It was apparent that the stage was too hot for her.

  "Ellie porter here"

  "Some of you may have noticed it by now but the ice lady isn't using as much power as she did in the previous matches"

  "I don't exactly know why but I'm suspecting it is lack of motivation"

  " She is fighting like she no longer has the will to do so"

  Natsumi took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Suddenly everything around her began to freeze, the flames that where coming at her died out and soon, everyone in the stadium could feel the chill.

  Kaen summoned more flame and increased their heat then he shot them at Natsumi. All the flames were blocked out but none of the ice walls fell.

  Natsumi then moved to attack. She raised her hand in the air and many long spears of ice formed above her but as she was about to send them at her opponent, she heard a laugh.

  It was a laugh that only her could hear. She was afraid of it. At the moment she heard it, she was paralyzed with fear and every attack and defence she had prepared broke down, leaving space for one of kaen's attacks to hit her behind her head.

  The hit sent her flat on the ground and for a while, she couldn't get up. She didn't want to move, she was afraid of what would happen if she did.

  "Come on" the voice in her head spoke but she answered with a loud "NO!!"

  Kaen heard her and noticed that something was wrong. He slowly drew closer to her and asked "are you okay?" But as soon as she turned to look at him his whole body was struck with fear.

  "What was that?" He said to himself as he quickly backed away from her. He didn't know what it was but he knew that it was not something he wanted to face. Luckily, just before things got too awkward, Orie ran into the stadium screaming "I AM HERE!!"

  "DON'T BE AFRAID!!"

  "YOU WILL NOT LOSE"

  After Orie said those words, the voice went silent and Natsumi picked herself up from the floor. They didn't known what exactly occurred but they were glad that the match was going to continue and they cheered with all their might.

  On the other hand, Kaen knew that if he wanted to win the match, he would have to do things he had never done before.
