Special Chapter: A Compendium of the World of Eva

Set down by Aneanel Ranmane, Elven Sage and Chronicler of the World

Presented to Her Grace, Queen Camil I of Warwick

  My Queen,

Upon your ascension to the Throne of Warwick, I have taken the liberty of gathering the sum of our knowledge into this parchment. It is not merely ink upon empty pages. It is a map—of men’s ambitions, of ancient loyalties, and of the long shadow the Hero Kamael left behind when he departed for the final battle against the darkness.

Within these pages, you will find the measure of your allies’ strength and the lingering threat of those enemies of old who now drag our once-peaceful world toward a slow and painful death.

May this knowledge serve as your shield, now that harsh winds rise against the four centuries of peace the Hero gifted to us.

  Cartography of the Known World

  The Five Crowns

The Empire of Ytis — The Zenith of the World

Situated at the southernmost edge of the continent, Ytis stands as the wealthiest and most powerful realm among the Five Crowns. Its capital, Aethelgard, is a radiant and restless city—vibrant, ambitious, and widely regarded as the jewel of the south.

They field the world’s most formidable knightly legions. Yet in the wake of the Battle of Mireya, none have bled more heavily in the effort to contain the Demon God’s Empire.

  Political Stance:

Ytis regards the other realms with thinly veiled arrogance, naming itself the sole legitimate heir to the Hero’s legacy.

The Kingdom of Warwick — Bastion of Honor

  Your homeland, Your Grace.

Perched upon the shores of the Chaos Sea, Warwick is a land of rolling green valleys and towering castles. Its capital, Lionheart, guards the southern approaches of the great human continent. Since the fall of the heroic fortress-city of Mireya and the extinction of the Xarias, Warwick has become the shield that stands between humanity and the Demon God’s dominion.

Warwick’s knights are masters of defensive warfare. Their orders are renowned for discipline, cavalry excellence, and an unbending code of honor that forbids the use of profane magic or any pact with demonkind. Noble though it is, this code has at times proven inflexible in the face of changing wars.

  Political Stance:

Direct rivals of Ytis. Warwick commands the second-greatest military force among the Five Crowns.

The Republic of Milbur — Jewel of the Seas

A confederation of wealthy maritime islands scattered between the Moon Sea and the Sea of Heroes. Its capital, Meridian, is a labyrinth of canals, masts, and silver coin.

Though lacking considerable land forces, Milbur commands the greatest navy in the known world. Their legendary Silver Corsairs rule the seas, and their merchant princes possess minds as sharp as any blade. Some would say stranger still.

  Diplomatic Ties:

Officially neutral in continental conflicts. Yet whenever humanity faces annihilation, Milbur’s fleets sail without hesitation—a quiet heroism written in salt and storm.

The Empire of Dotts — The Eastern Forge

An industrial and unyielding empire bordered by the Sea of Arathorn and jagged mountain ranges. Its capital, Ironspire, is carved directly into living stone.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Dotts is known for its remarkable elven population, who coexist with humans in uncommon harmony. They are pioneers in the fusion of magic and metal—mechanized enchantment woven into steel. Their siege crossbows and runic armor are the dread of any infantry that faces them.

The Kingdom of Hessex — Sanctuary of the North

The most militarily diminished of the Five Crowns. Once the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world, Hessex now endures a devastating civil war across its great northern isle. Its capital, Oakhaven, rests at the island’s southern edge.

Though weakened, its people remain deeply bound to the natural world. Traces of ancient magic linger in its forests, and ruins of the Xarias from the Mythological Era still stand beneath moss and memory.

  Political Stance:

Isolationist. Hessex avoids continental disputes and safeguards some of the oldest secrets concerning the origin of the world. May they overcome their internal strife, for the day will come when all Five Crowns must stand united against the Demon King’s return.

The Treaty of the Magical Paths

Your Majesty, though you were educated within Lionheart’s Royal Academy of Magic, a reminder of the fundamentals will serve you well.

Human magic, limited in mana compared to other races, is traditionally divided into four primary arts:

  Offensive Magic

  Defensive Magic

  Healing Magic

  Summoning Magic

This structure defines human spellcraft. Yet limitation has never meant weakness.

Only the Xarias ever surpassed humanity’s magical ceiling—and for millennia they inspired both fear and reverence across the world.

Remember, Majesty: each race wields magic unique to its nature. Humans, however, refused to remain confined by theirs. Through reason and relentless study, they forged five great kingdoms that now uphold the order of the world.

No other race—save perhaps my own—has achieved what humanity has accomplished.

  Chronicles of the Sacred Orders

Majesty, your crown carries more than the weight of Warwick. It bears the Law of the Mythological Era.

When the gods walked the earth, humanity forged chains to bind them. Those chains were formed of three links, and even now they shape our destiny.

  The God Mage

  He rules no land—only fate.

The God Mage preserves the balance of the world and serves as supreme judge in times of conflict. His word is law among the Five Empires.

Whoever bears this title must be humanity’s strongest warrior, master of every magical discipline. In the event of great catastrophe, he becomes supreme commander of all human existence.

  The Order of Mage Kings

Each kingdom appoints a Mage King—or Mage Queen—the deadliest magic-wielder of their nation and an elite general within the Order of Eva.

They abide by strict laws. Above all stands the Law of Binding: By ancient decree, power must be joined to the crown. Regardless of personal desire, Majesty, the reigning monarch must be wed to their kingdom’s Mage King—or in the case of a reigning King, to the Mage Queen.

This union ensures political authority and destructive power walk hand in hand, safeguarding both throne and humanity’s cause.

  The Sacred Order of Eva

When cataclysms awaken and divine or demonic threats loom, the banners of the kingdoms are lowered—and a single banner rises: Eva.

The Sacred Order of the Knights of Eva forms the unified army of the Five Realms. Beneath this standard, a knight of Warwick and a legionnaire of Ytis fight as brothers.

Only the God Mage may summon the Order of Eva, commanding the Mage Kings as his generals against threats no single kingdom could withstand alone.

You witnessed this yourself, Majesty, when Warwick could not repel the invasion of the Empire of the Demon God and aid arrived at Mireya beneath Eva’s banner.

Regrettably, the outcome was not as we had hoped.

For that reason, I urge you to remember what is written here. Let no future crisis find you unprepared.

  Apocrypha of the Hero Kamael

Majesty, before your kingdom rose from ash, there was only chaos. And at its heart—he appeared.

The chronicles describe the Hero as possessing a beauty almost terrible to behold. His hair was pure silver, luminous as though it held its own light, reminiscent of the ancient lords of the Lunar Palace.

His eyes stilled friend and foe alike—twin crimson orbs, vivid as freshly spilled blood. It is said that within them one could glimpse the weight of two worlds, and the spark of a magic that does not belong to this age.

I do not presume to recount his tale in full, for even the youngest child knows it by heart.

Some whisper that Kamael’s blood once flowed through the now-extinct Xarias dynasty. Others claim it still courses through the currents of the sea that bears his name—waiting for the day humanity once more requires a knight unafraid to challenge even the gods.

  Humbly, your servant.
