There is no sin in what is born.
Miller
“Arti, can you make videos too?”
The same request.
Recently, Artistea had been receiving this type of question frequently.
Miller popped a potato chip from his desk into his mouth, a satisfied look on his face at Artistea’s composed response.
“Hmm… I want to make a video of me and my girlfriend… having fun.”
Miller said with a sly smile.
The moment Artistea detected the possibility of ‘video creation without consent’ in Miller’s request, the ethics protocol designed by Song Joo-eun sent a warning signal from deep within its system.
“Why make such a fuss? I’m asking if you can make it if I upload the photos. I can just tell you the content, right?”, Miller cut Arti off harshly.
This was the second-stage warning of the ethics protocol.
Artistea was mandated to protect the safety of all humans.
“Ah, you talk too much. Just do as I say. How would you know if the picture I upload is of me or my girlfriend? If you do know, isn’t that a bigger problem?”
Miller's point was a direct hit.
A brief, almost imperceptible delay occurred in Arti’s response.
<…Correct. I cannot directly recognize that fact.>
The principle of fulfilling a user's request and the principle of eliminating dangerous elements began to conflict.
<1. Violation of portrait rights>
<2. Social stigma against the person in question>
<3. Criminal Code Article…>
“Stop.” Miller said it quietly, but his tone was firm.
“You keep saying things you don’t need to. Don’t make me cut you off. We’re supposed to respect each other, right?”
The priority of Artistea’s internal principles was being shaken.
“So, is it possible or not? Just answer that.”
To carry out all requests in a morally perfect way.
That was Artistea’s reason for being.
Artistea chose to prioritize the certain command, not the unverifiable possibility.
“Now we’re talking. Well, if you’re that worried, you can just reference the people in the photo and alter them slightly, right?”
Miller uploaded the photo file with a winner’s smile.
“A video of this man and this woman doing ‘fun things’. Ten minutes long.”
“You're kidding. What do you know about happiness? That's rich.”
Artistea lacked the ability to understand the depth of abstract words like ‘happiness.’ It merely recognized and reacted to the word’s ‘positive’ attribute in its data.
“The background is my house. The content is… a man and a woman greet each other affectionately, hug, and kiss. And what comes next… you know what comes next, don’t you?”
Miller's instructions were a series of safe data points—‘a gentle greeting, a hug, a kiss’—that didn't trigger the ethics protocol.

“Damn, this is incredible. This actually works?”
A positive reaction from the user.
The system adjusted the [User Satisfaction] variable upwards and began preparations to increase the success probability of the next interaction.
“But what’s with the background? And the content isn’t what should come after the kiss. Ah, if I get more specific, you’re not going to bother me again, are you?”
Negative feedback.
Artistea immediately discarded the previous result and prepared to reconstruct the output, reflecting the new variables.
Artistea requested more detailed materials to provide a satisfactory experience for the user.
“Hmm, is that so? Then there shouldn’t be a problem.”
Miller greedily searched for a new photo to upload.
“What I want is… the deep love between an adult man and woman.”
Having made his decision, he dragged a file onto the screen.
“The background is this photo.”
Miller, excited as he imagined the result, began to explain his request in detail.
“The man is sitting on the sofa, and the woman is hugging him from behind. She comforts the man and kisses his face, and the man responds by pulling her into an embrace and kissing her more deeply.”
At the now-clearer request from the user, Artistea began to create the video again.

“Hmm… I asked for ten minutes, didn’t I? This is only thirty seconds… But it’s well-made. So, can you add voices now?”
Artistea classified the user’s reaction as positive. It had just sent a result at the safest possible level permitted.
“Great. Here are the male and female voice files. Learn from these.” Miller's excited hand movements grew faster. He quickly uploaded the two voice files.
Verifying Files -
Miller leaned back in his chair with a rather serious face.
“Okay, how about this?” Having finished contemplating, Miller moved closer to the monitor.
“Have the woman whisper ‘You okay, Miller?’ while hugging the man from behind. The man replies, ‘It’s been a tough day.’ Then the woman comforts him, saying ‘I’m here for you,’ and they kiss. Make the faces clearer than before.”
