"Cadet walker, tell us the clarifications of the ship's of the unsc." The instructor ordered. We were in class, and today we were learning about the ship's of the unsc.
"Yes sir. At the smallest, we have corvettes. They tend to be lightly armed and armored patrol craft. They aren't generally used in fleet combat, but with the advent of the covenant, they have been brought forward to... limited results."
"Next are the frigates. They are the most numerous ship class in the Unsc. They tend to be cheap, well armed, and fast. Not to mention relatively easy to produce."
"Destroyers are the bigger and meaner versions of frigates. They are extremely well armed and armored for their size, and are about as fast as frigates to boot. Unfortunately, they cost quite a bit more, both in cash and time, so they are rarer."
"Cruisers are the main line capital ships of the unsc. They are well armored, well armed, and large. This means that the largest cruisers can carry heavy Mac's, even multiple Mac's."
"Carriers are the heaviest ship's in unsc service. They are well armored, well armed, and are focused on carrying large amounts of ground troops, as well as fighters and bombers. The largest even have production facilities on board to facilitate extended operations." He finished.

"Good, that is largely correct. Cadet Nivka, describe the Covenants ship's." He ordered.
"Well, to start, each class of ship tends to be far larger, more armed and armored, and has shielding to boot. Now, the SDV class corvette is the most common corvette. Ironically, it's larger then anything but unsc cruisers. It is armed with plasma weaponry and fighters, not to mention its roll seems to be planetary pacification."
"Covenant frigates are larger, and more heavily armed, using bean weapons, plasma cannons, and laser point defense weaponry. They are not typically seen in front line combat though."
"Covenant destroyers are bigger then our cruisers, and are the first ship to be armed with a glassing beam. They come with beam weapons, cannons, and torpedoes. As well as lasers."
"Their cruisers are around the size of our carriers, and are extremely well armed and armored. They have heavy beam weapons, regular beam weapons, cannons and lasers. Also, they can have torpedoes as well, and fighters and bombers."
"And Covenant carriers are larger then even our superheated carriers. They have Glassing beams, heavy beams, regular beams, plasma cannons, torpedoes, and lasers in abundance."
"And super carriers are 20 plus kilometers long, with an obscene amount of beam weapons, lasers, and torpedoes. Not to mention the fighters, bombers, and boarding craft. They are the indisputable rulers of the void."
"Correct. In fleet engagements, a 1 to 3 ratio is generally the game. 1 covenant frigate for 3 human ones. Anything larger and numbers need to be overwhelming. 7 frigates versus 1 covenant destroyer. Worse against cruisers. And only concentrated fire from an entire fleet can take down a covenant carrier." The instructor said.
"Our missiles are sub par at taking down enemy shielding. Mac guns first to clear the shields, then missiles is the operating procedure. Now, nukes are the same as our missles, wait for shields to drop, then nuke em if you can." He said.
"What about our fighters?" I ask.
"Equivalent at best. Honestly, the procedure for covenant void born vehicles is kilk the shields with guns, then missles, Mac's, whatever you can shoot really."
How bleak. Not worse then fighting on the ground, though. Maybe. As long as I don't fight alone and out of my weight class at least.
