Nanny Mary started reading the book as soon as Trixie picked it from the other ones she had brought.
"A long-long time ago in a far away place..." Nanny Mary started, she even used the correct intonation to depict that this was the beginning of an epic story! "There existed a kingdom filled with all the evil that was contained within the world...."
Trixie loved that description, they knew what they were and didn't fight back against it, they were proud of what they had done! That was what actual Villains should do!
Papa also thought the same when Trixie said that to him!
"...At the top of said kingdom ruled a beautiful princess who had just gotten to her fourteenth birthday." Nanny Mary then moved to the meat of the tale, the Princess! The most beautiful Princess of them all! "She had gorgeous dresses and golden-colored hair that shone as the purest gold in the land, her sapphire blue eyes shone with intelligence, and every move that she made enthralled those who saw them."
Trixie couldn't help but nod at that, she always imagined the Princess as the ideal of beauty (Shiori-sama).
"She moved from ball to ball always being followed by her loyal shadow, a servant with a face similar to hers." Trixie always wondered how they had managed to do that, no matter how much Trixie tried it, she could never not see the similarities between twins! "And when going to explore her kingdom she always took her loyal steed Josephine."
Josephine! The poor Josephine! The most brave horsie of all the seven colored kingdoms!
"Everything that was within the kingdom was in the palms of her hands," Of course that was understandable, since the Kingdom was hers to begin with, Trixie never understood why they had to spell that part out, it was obvious! Even to someone who wasn't as smart as Shiori-sama! "Whenever the money started lacking, whenever they didn't have enough to buy their needs, the wise Princess always came up with quick answers to their issues."
"Take it from the peasants!" Trixie said doing a small jump and raising her hands, "The Princess is so smart! The peasants don't need to buy a new dress for every day! The Princess has more things to buy than them anyway!"
She was that smart! The peasants weren't going to use it well anyway!
*bonk*
"I get that having the money to buy whatever you want is good and something that you would love to have," Nanny Mary said stopping her telling of the story at that point, "But, what would you do if someone took your money and said they would use it better than you."
What would Trixie do? The same as always?
"Trixie doesn't have money," Trixie answered, she didn't have money after all, money was for the rich and powerful!
No wait, Papa was using his authority as the King of White...
"Or... does Trixie have moneys?" If Papa was wielding his power as the king of white in the open, then didn't that make Trixie someone of the powerful? And the powerful had money right?
Gnuuuu..........
"We will speak with your father about pocketmoney, but for now, imagine that they take your father's money that was going to be used to buy you snacks, candies, toys and dresses." Nanny Mary said having put the book to the side, "How would you feel if one day your father came and said that you wouldn't be getting your favorite snacks for a time?"
Trixie wouldn't like that, they needed that money! Trixie didn't want to go back to munching the gardener's plants!
They were tasty, but they also made Trixie's tummy ache!
"That would be bad!" Trixie said so, "But that is different! Papa uses the money wisely, the peasants don't!"
"They needed that money to buy food for their daughters and sons." Nanny Mary said sighing, "They needed the money to buy the snacks for their own Trixies."
"Le gasp!" Trixie did the thing and gasped! "But... The Princess... needed the money too! She can't be seen using the same dress that she used in the morning! The peasants would think she was poor like Trixie!"
And that couldn't be done, the Princess deserved to be cute and fashionable!
"Besides..." Trixie said pointing to the book. Nanny Mary turned and sighed, reading the next phrase.
"As for those who opposed her..." Nanny Mary said reading the next part shaking her head, "... she demanded their heads be removed after getting them to kneel in front of her."
"See!" Trixie said nodding, "She had an answer to it already, if they didn't like it, they could pay with their heads instead!"
Honestly, the Princess was the smartestest of all, Trixie hadn't thought about going that route before, she would take note of that. She wasn't sure if it would work since that one toy hadn't minded lossing their head.
Nanny Mary sighed.
"As for what remained behind, it became nutrients for the decay of the nation of evil." Nanny Mary carried on with the story, it was almost to the good part.
Nanny Mary carried on with the story, now that the setting of the book had been set up, it was time for the great reveal!
The most important and relevant part of the story!
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
"As the Tyrant princess carried on with her daily routine, she eventually came to meet the prince of a foreign nation." Nanny Mary continued the tale, it was finally time to meet the prince! "It was the Prince of the nation of Blue who came from across the other side of the sea."
Sadly, that is when the B-word woman in the original story came!
"But unknown to the Princess of Evil, the man was already promised to the Princess of Green." Nanny Mary read as the story progressed.
"Booo!" And Trixie took her time to boo when it was appropriate, everyone knew the Princess of evil deserved the prince!"
"It was at that time, that the princess mad with envy called her most loyal servant and ministers." Nanny Mary prepared for the great reveal of the first book! "She said to them in a quiet cold voice. Destroy the nation of green."
"Yaaaaay!" Trixie cheered as the bad guys would get what was coming to them! "I hope this time this time they manage to show them who is the boss!"
Trixie had heard this story multiple times, but so far she hadn't managed to catch it when the Yellow Kingdom won.
"Countless houses ended being reduced to mere ashes, thousands of people killed in the war..." Nanny Mary turned the page to the next one and stopped for a second, "What do you think about this Trixie?"
What?
"I mean, they were the baddies right?" Trixie said, tilting her head to the side, "If they didn't want to die, then they shouldn't have picked a princess who stole the destined person of someone else!"
Trixie nodded at her own wise words.
"Do you know what a Monarchy is?" Nanny Mary asked, "We know it was a kingdom rulership since we have a Princess a nd a King."
"Hmm...." Trixie stopped to think, she hated doing that, "It's when the important person is a King? Like how Papa is the important person for the White Family?"
Trixie knew Papa was a King, his moniker was the King of White after all.
"Yes," Nanny Mary said nodding at Trixie's wisdom, "But unlike what we have nowadays, monarchy is different from democracy. In a monarchy the people don't pick their ruler, compared to democracy where we can pick our ruler."
"... And why does that matter?" Trixie said confused, "They were at the wrong for picking monarchy and then picking the princess of green!"
Trixie was sure of that, if not, the Princess of Evil wouldn't have needed to show them their place!
"This was a tale of a long-long time ago," Nanny Mary sighed as she stated that, "Meaning they didn't have a pick, to move from Monarchy to Democracy usually they need a war or two, just like we did when we stablished democracy in the new continent."
The new what?
"So the peasants didn't have a choice, they couldn't pick a new king and princess unless they raised a rebellion, and the kingdom of green in this story was not one where people felt the need to do that." Nanny Mary pointed to the other books, "As you get glimpses from their Kingdom from the pieces of story you get there.
Gnnuuu....
"But they were in the wrong anyway, if they couldn't pick their king, they could move to the Kingdom of evil!" Trixie said crossing her arms, and puffing her cheeks.
It was such an obvious answer that even Trixie could think of it! And she was dum!
"Not everyone can afford such thing Trixie," Nanny Mary said shaking her head, "Moving to a new country would require them to get enough money to get food for the travel, and in those times that was expensive, more so if they didn't have that money because the taxes were expensive."
Really?
"Besides when they arrived to the new country they would require even more money to buy housing or someone to employ them as live in staff." Nanny Mary added, "Just like how your father pays me with food and a place to stay."
Was Nanny Mary poor?!?!?!?
"I see..." Trixie said thinking on the great revelation of the day, Nanny Mary was poor!
"As for the suffering of the people..." Nanny Mary said turning once more to the booklet, "It never reached the ears of their princess."
Why would it reach the ears of the Princess anyway?
That was the part that always confused Trixie.
"This is quite the realistic part, you see. It probably wasn't as clear-cut in this part." Nanny Mary interrupted the telling once again, "While the actions of the Princess of Evil are wrong, what probably happened was that she was never taught better."
"She was dum like Trixie?" Trixie asked surprised, they were alike! Trixie always thought that the Princess of evil was smart like Shiori-sama!
"You aren't dumb Trixie," Nanny Mary said shaking her head, "You just need someone who can teach you, and the same applies to this Princess. What probably happened was that her ministers were taking the money from the populace for themselves, and they never explained the Princess that what she was doing was putting the populace at risk."
The peasants were at risk? Ah right, they got their snack money taken from them.
"So the ministers ensured that not a single complaint arrived, and when they arrived it was from angry people who the princess didn't listen and just executed." Nanny Mary said, pointing at the picture that had been with the scene of the peasant screaming at the Princess. "It was because of this reason that the princess didn't know better, and as such we get this line: 'Albeit beautiful, she was an untouchable flower because of all her thorns.' "
That was so sad!
"All the wrongdoings ended up making the populace of the kingdom of evil raise the banners for revoluttion," Nanny Mary continued her retelling, "The one who rallied their anger and grievance was a warrior wearing a crimson red armor painted with the blood of those that fell because of the princess evildoing that encased the whole nation."
Noooo!
"Noooo, why can't the red warrior leave the princess alone!" Trixie screamed in annoyance, that one always ruined the princess rule!
"Finally after waging war for years the palace was surrounded, the soldiers defeated and when they stormed in, the princess was captured." Nanny Mary read the next page where it had a new illustration.
The Princess standing there all cute looking down at their captors with words that Trixie never managed Shiori-sama or Papa to read.
"There, the princess turned and said, 'You disrespectful people!' " That was so coolz, Trixie was stealing that one for later when she was playing with new toys. "That was how the evil flower who bloomed in the most wretched color came to an end."
"Noooooo!" Trixie cried in despair at the ending, once again the evil couldn't triumph.
"That was how the haven built for her own amusement and enjoyment crumbled fragily away," Nanny Mary turned the page to one of the last parts of the story, a picture of the Princess of yellow now wearing a crown. "A long-long time ago, in a far away kingdom there was a fourteen-year-old queen who reigned at the top of a kingdom that was called Evil."
"Yay she became a queen from a princess!" Trixie cheered at that part, at least they recognized the Princess!
"Her execution was scheduled for the afternoon of the next day after her capture." Nanny Mary turned once again the page and there it was a picture of the now Queen being pulled forward by two soldiers to a guillotine. "At the time of her execution, the bells at the tower chimed her execution time, but at this, the princess only said 'It's tea time'. That was the last words from the former Princess of Evil now turned Queen."
And like that, Nanny Mary closed the book.
It still had a few things there though! The poem was left! The illustrations of the whole story!
"What do you think is the lesson from this story?" Nanny Mary suddenly turned to Trixie. "Was the princess actually Evil?"
"Never lose a war, and you will be fine!" Trixie said nodding proudly at her understanding of all the issues the Princess of evil experienced.
"No," Nanny Mary said bonking Trixie with the book, it didn't hurt because the book was small and Nanny Mary did it slowly, "The lesson is about authority."
"Authority?" Trixie said while nursing her bonked head, "But she had all the authority! She was a princess and ruled a country! She even became Queen!"
"That is just the thing," Nanny Mary said putting the book on the table, "She 'ruled', who do you think actually came with the laws and executed them?"
"The soldiers?" Trixie asked tilting her head to the side. "The police?"
"Yes," Nanny Mary said nodding, "Chances are the actual rulers were the ministers and such, the young princess was merely a figurehead that was spoiled rotten, but since it was her name the one that they used, the populace hated her, her only crime was being an innocent girl who knew not that her actions had responsibility."
"Le gasp!" Trixie gasped at that, "Then... she was innocent!"
"Yes," Nanny Mary said nodding, "To some degree, some fault still lies with her, because she still was in the wrong about wanting the Prince of Blue that probably accelerated the rebellion, since the kingdom of blue armed the civilians of the kingdom of evil."
"They did?!?!?!?" Trixie was surprised, "How dare they!"
"... You didn't know?" Nanny Mary asked surprised, "It's in the books."
"Trixie only likes the first one, so she doesn't pay attention to the others." Trixie answered yawning, she was tired, "The Princess story ends with the first anyway."
Why would she want to read about what the others did? That was stupid!
Besides Shiori-sama said that it was better if Trixie learned to read first before picking up the others, so Trixie would read the others herself when she learned how to read!
"We will leave it at that for today then," Nanny Mary said standing up, "It's time for your nap, let's get ready."
Eepy time!
