Skyram

The Kingdom of Sky consists of five islands: one large central island surrounded by smaller ones. The capital is in the middle, and the islands are named Era, Ara, Renis, Tiran, and finally, the capital, Haran. The students were divided among these five islands using the Island Rokin, based on a lottery they conducted among themselves.

  The First Island: Era

The plants on this island float as if they have a will of their own. They move within and above the island but do not leave its borders.

Garin: "This place is full of strange plants."

Kaiser: "It’s like the plants have wings."

Kano: "I think they actually do. Do you think it’s normal for plants to fly?"

Karez: "It seems like everything in the Sky Kingdom floats."

Garin: "But they’re beautiful. I never expected to see things from my dreams come to life."

Kano: "I didn’t think you even dream when you sleep."

Garin: "My dreams are really weird, man."

As Kaiser moves, he bumps into a floating plant. The plant slaps him across the face before continuing on its way.

Kaiser: "W-what?? Did that plant just slap me?!"

Karez: "Slap you? Are you imagining things now, Kaiser?"

Kaiser: "I swear it slapped me!"

A nearby person overhears their conversation and speaks up: "It probably did slap you."

Kaiser: "See, Karez?! I’m not lying!"

  Karez: "But how…"

Kano, curious: "Is that even possible?"

The person introduces himself: "I'm Ling, and yes, this is possible in our kingdom."

  Garin: "Garin."

  Kano: "I’m Kano."

  Karez: "And I’m Karez."

  Kaiser: "I’m Kaiser."

Ling: "Nice to meet you all. The plants on Era Island do indeed have a will of their own. They live and communicate with each other in a way that’s obvious but inaudible to us. They’re intelligent plants."

Karez: "Will? Intelligent plants? That’s hard to believe…"

Garin: "Everything here is hard to believe, man…"

Ling: "That slap didn’t hurt, right, Kaiser?"

Kaiser: "N-no, it just felt like it brushed my face."

Ling: "Consider it just a reprimand. After all, plants don’t cause harm.'

Kano:" The Sky Kingdom seems amazing."

  Garin: "It truly is."

  The Second Island: Ara

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

On this island, water behaves strangely. It first appears as a ring around the island, then shifts into a hollow cube surrounding it, continuously changing shape.

Arian: "The Sky Kingdom is weird. I want to go back to the Dwarfs City."

Neron: "It’s definitely strange, but it’s also unique."

  Kyotai: "Damn that lottery."

Neron: "Did you want to go to the capital?"

  Kyotai: "Yeah."

Neron: "You seem more honest than before."

  Kyotai: "Shut up."

Arian: "What are we supposed to do here?"

Neron: "Enjoy some peace while admiring the beauty of the place."

After a brief silence, Neron speaks again: "I’m starting to suspect that "Rivan" is behind everything happening to us."

Kyotai: "Does that mean Yaraso is a bad person since he’s Rivan’s friend?"

Neron: "So you think Rivan is a bad person?"

Kyotai: "My suspicions have reached the sky."

Arian: "Then why are you still following his suggestion? If it’s a trap, do you wanna walk right into it?"

Kyotai: "Exactly. If it’s a trap, I’ll walk into it, crush it completely, and then kill Rivan with my sword."

Neron: "Do you enjoy flirting with death?"

  Kyotai: "I am death."

A chill runs down Arian’s spine before he notices a library nearby.

Arian: "Should we go to that library?"

Neron: "Good idea. We might find useful information about the Sky Kingdom. Let’s go."

  The Third Island: Rennis

Kani: "I don’t understand why they call this the Cave Island."

Beatrix: "Is it even possible for caves to exist on a floating island?"

Hakan: "Yes. There are rumors that the island is collapsing from within, while other stories claim that people once searched for resources here, believing it to be a treasure trove. They called it the Resource Paradise."

Kani: "You have some impressive knowledge, Hakan."

Hakan: "I used to love the Sky Kingdom when I was a kid. I read a lot about it."

Beatrix: "I don’t blame you. It’s truly a beautiful kingdom."

Hakan: "Some people even called it Paradise because of its breathtaking beauty."

Kani looks up at the sky as a gentle breeze brushes against them.

Kani: "Paradise? It’s beautiful, but I don’t think it deserves such a title."

Hakan speaks with clear enthusiasm: "Decades ago, it was a paradise. What we see now is only about 1% of its original beauty."

  Kani: "Time ruins everything…"

  Beatrix: "I hate time."

  The Fourth Island: Tiran

Mary: "Is it normal... for stones to talk?"

Damian: "Are the differences between kingdoms really this vast...?"

Tiran, the Island of Sorrows. Here, stones live like any other beings—they move and speak. At the edge of the island stands a mountain that never stops crying. Its tears fall into the ocean beneath the floating islands, creating breathtaking waterfalls.

Itor: "I know my homeland is strange..."

Mary: "Man... this is amazing! Who would have thought something like this existed?!"

Damian: "It’s like we’re in another world."

Itor: "I didn’t expect this kind of reaction..."

Mary: "Can we go to the Crying Mountain?"

Itor: "Of course, we can. We’re already close to it."

The three of them start walking. The sky is clear, and the wind makes the grass sway as if dancing. After five minutes, they reach the mountain. Mary speaks up: "Hello."

The mountain notices them and begins to speak as its tears continue to fall: "Hello, I am Nipon. Who are you, little ones?"

  Mary: "I’m Mary."

  Damian: "And I’m Damian."

  Itor: "You already know me."

Nipon: "Oh, Itor. Are these your friends?"

  Itor: "Yes."

Nipon: "Then where is Brika? It’s not like you come without her."

Itor's expression shifts slightly, his face turning sad. He remains silent for a moment before speaking.

Itor: "Brika... is in a psychiatric hospital."

Nipon: "A hospital? What happened to her?"

Itor: "She encountered someone with an illusion ability. She saw horrifying things..."

Nipon: "Poor girl... She’s always had terrible luck..."

Itor: "Let’s not dwell on this now... They came to talk to you."

Nipon: "Of course, of course. Go ahead."

Mary: "May I ask why you’re crying?"

Nipon: "Why do I cry? It’s an old story, one about someone dear to my heart—though I don’t have a heart. A woman named Skyram..."

  The Second Island: Ara

The three enter the library and meet the librarian, Kirin, who greets them. Arian asks: "Why does the water here behave so strangely around the island?"

  Kirin: "It’s a disturbance."

  Arian: "A disturbance?"

Kirin: "Yes. The Sky Kingdom wasn’t originally in the sky—it was lifted into the air."

Neron asks, his curiosity evident: Lifted? Who could have such an ability?:

Kirin: "A woman who lived more than 300 years ago. The Earth Ruler, Skyram."

  Kyotai: "Earth Ruler?"

Kirin: "A strange but unique title. It doesn’t represent her ruling over a specific place, but rather her immense power. Her ability was earth manipulation."

Arian: "Like Renma, the Supreme Warrior?"

Kirin: "Exactly, but she was far stronger. I don’t mean to belittle the warrior of the Anastasia Kingdom, but I don’t think he could lift five islands into the sky."

Kyotai: "You said she lived over 300 years ago. How have the five islands remained in the air all this time?"

Kirin: "That’s why I said she was stronger. The effects of Skyram’s power are still holding even now."

The three are shocked, especially Kyotai

Neron: "How can that be real...?"

Kirin: "But the effect has begun to weaken. In the worst-case scenario, the Sky Kingdom might fall into the ocean in 15 years."

Kyotai: "Fifteen years is still a long time."

  Kirin: "Indeed."

Arian: "But what will you do?"

Kirin: "There’s nothing we can do. The islands remain in the air only because Skyram’s grave is in the capital. If it were elsewhere, the kingdom would have already fallen. We are truly grateful to her, and we accept whatever happens."

  Neron: "In the capital..."

  The Fifth Island: Haran

  Sai: "Whose grave is this?"

Leo: "The inscription says, “Here lies the Eternal Earth Ruler, Skyram.”"

Kinto: "It’s clear she was a great and exceptional person. Her grave stands alone in the capital."

Skyram’s grave is made of gemstones and gold, surrounded by plants unseen anywhere else.

Haran is the most natural of the five islands, stable in every aspect, yet breathtakingly beautiful. The surrounding islands enhance its splendor. Large tree trunks connect the islands to Haran. Before the existence of the islands Rokin, everyone traveled using these trunks.

At the center of Haran stands a natural tree. From it extend the giant trunks that connect to the other islands. In front of this tree lies Skyram’s eternal grave.

The Sky Kingdom is truly a magnificent place, one of the most visually stunning and unique kingdoms. It’s no surprise that it is one of the world’s top tourist destinations.

  The Fourth Island: Tiran

  Mary: Skyram? Who was she?

Nipon: She was a woman who lived 300 years ago. Kind and gentle, she was the one who lifted the Sky Kingdom into the sky with her power.

Damian: She lifted the Sky Kingdom by herself...?

Nipon: Yes, it’s truly astonishing. Even after her death, her grave keeps the kingdom afloat. She was incredibly beautiful, loved by all. She became the Eternal Hero. I loved her—even though I don’t have a heart. She was the most wonderful part of my life. When she died, I broke down in tears. The sorrow still lingers within me...

  Mary: That’s heartbreaking...

Damian: She was truly a remarkable woman.

Nipon: My way of expressing emotions may seem strange. Forgive me—I am a mountain, after all.
