"Hey there! My name is Iris and currently I am in some sort of empty white void, wanna know what happened? Well since you can't answer me I'm going to tell you anyway! Ahemm.... So I was walking across a road in the middle of the night when suddenly I saw two glowing headlights coming at me at top speed. What was I doing at that time of night you ask? Cough... buying ice-cream. Midnight snack cravings are deadly you know! So back to the glowing headlights, they belonged to a truck. Yep I died at the young age of 16 by getting hit by Truck-kun."
Iris then turned around thinking who was I even talking to? oh well. As she turned around a translucent blue screen popped up in front of her breaking up the endless sea of white.
Iris took her time and read over the screen carefully. Ooooh a System and what's this? Reincarnation huh? And in a world of swords and magic too.... This will be interesting. I wonder what's nex.... Just as she started to wonder what was next a new system screen repleaced the last one.
Huh, does it read my mind? Mmm kind of creepy, kind of useful. I guess it knows when I'm ready to move to the next stage.
Iris again reads over the screen carefully debating the options. Hmmm a choice. But what's the difference between a unique skill and a general because I'm not sure choosing a unique skill is worth being abandoned at age 4.
Ohhh I see. The window can do this too.
Iris read through the window thinking to herself. So a unique skill is good either if I choose it or not. Now that I think about it, general skills can be earned so having two more, at the cost of being abandoned, choosing to have more general skills isn't all that great. Although letting the system choose my unique skill is risky and choosing it would most likely guarantee a better outcome, letting the system choose means I still get one anyway. Also it said that it would be basing it on my past life and would be choosing something that fits me. So i can guarantee whatever the system chooses will be worth something. Also if the system said the unique skill it would pick would fit me does that mean that if i pick one that doesn't fit me i won't be able to use it properly. Hmmm choosing the option where I choose my unique skill myself is looking less and less appealing. Well I guess I know which one I'm choosing.
Iris took a deep breath calming herself before reaching out and choosing option [A].
"So we are doing race now huh...." said Iris as she skimmed through the options. The ones that stick out to me the most are Demon, Dragon, Kitsune, Modified Human, and Dragon-kin. Cat-kin are probably okay but they aren't likely to have any unique or powerful of those racial skills that the system mentioned at the top. I have pretty much the same reasoning for elves and as far as remember from my past life there is a chance that elves are the whole live off the land and go completely vegetarian type. Not that there's is anything wrong with that's just not my style. I'm not being human because there is an option called Modified human and I think that may be just a better version of a human. Of course all of this is based on guessing because the system doesn't tell me anything other than the species names.
Iris lets out a big sigh, slightly cursing the system for making her do so much thinking and guessing. I'm going to say no to the Alpha Dire wolf as that would make me a monster and no thank you. Ahh I guess I should also get rid of Dragon for the same reason. Sigh even though Dragons are so cool. A Dragon-kin is probably a good compromise for that actually, so right now the only one I'm debating actually choosing so far is that.
Demon's are probably powerful but I don't want to risk demons being some sort of affront to religion and be hunted, which honestly now that I think about the only way I can think of that going. A Modified human is probably just a more powerful version of a human but I'm worried that changing a human's body to be stronger could cause side effects, plus from my memory I've seen people call ugly, horrible man made hybrids Modified humans. Iris shivers in despair at the chance he could become something like that. So maybe not, yeah Dragon-kin is still looking like the best option.
The last one is a bit different as from my memory a Kitsune is a Japanese Mythical creature that is a Fox with nine tails, now I know I should dismiss it for the same reason as the Dragon and Wolf but if i remember correctly it had the ability to transform into a nine tailed fox-kin. Also it's a mythical creature so honestly I just can't bring myself to dismiss it. So that leaves me with Dragon-kin and Kitsune.
"Uuuggghhh" Iris groaned into the white void "too many decisions". Iris sat there comparing the two for a long time simply trying to find all the pros and cons of each. Finally deciding that she really wants to pick Kitsune even though she keeps finding reasons to chose the Dragon-kin. Sighh.. You only live once I guess. Thought Iris as she decided to pick Kitsune, in all honesty she hates being indecisive so she decided to just do it.
