Chapter 94: Is It All Because of Hatred?
Gu Xi Cen's face remained pale and calm, without any emotion, as if he had only said what he should say, what he wanted to say.
Gu Wangchuan furrowed his brow, standing still, his gaze sweeping across his face and landing on Lin Yue'er's body, sharp as a razor-sharp knife, as if he could pierce her skin and peel it off to see if there was blood and tears beneath her painful exterior.
He suddenly let out a cold laugh and his gaze fell back onto Xi Cen's face, "You really are my good brother!"
Turned around and walked out with big strides without looking back.
Gu Xi's eyebrows slightly furrowed, and then silently lowered her head.
Lin Yue'er bit her lip and opened her mouth, surprisingly in a hoarse voice, "Sorry..."
Actually, she wanted to say "thank you", but for some reason, what came out of her mouth was the three heavy words "I'm sorry". Perhaps it was because she saw that faint hint of loss in his eyes.
She heard some things about the two brothers from Hua Yi, they had a good relationship, Gu Wangchuan was 9 years older than him, and he was both a brother and a father to him, taking care of him since childhood. Knowing that he didn't like going into the company, in order to prevent Grandfather's thoughts from turning to him as well, Gu Wangchuan had sent him to France early on, only hoping that his younger brother could live the life he wanted.
This feeling is not something an ordinary brother can compare with.
So she knew that Gu Xi Chen was helping her out, and in his heart, he acknowledged much more than what it seemed.
Gu Xi Cen didn't say anything and turned around, step by step going upstairs.
Lin Yue stood alone in the living room, bearing the pain in her shoulders, with tears welling up in her eyes but not falling.
She didn't understand what Gu Wangchuan was thinking, he wanted a divorce and she agreed, he wanted her to leave and she didn't say another word. She had already retreated with no way out, avoiding him with no place to hide, just wanting to give birth to this child in peace. Wasn't that enough? Did he find another way to humiliate her just because she said she loved him?
"Old Mrs. Dai..." Hua Yi walked over with concern, "Your face looks terrible, were you hurt by Young Master Dai just now? Do you want to go to the hospital and take a look?"
"It's okay, I'm fine..." Lin Yue'er dragged her exhausted body, carrying a heart that had long been battered and bruised, slowly up the stairs.
Now, she just wants to hide herself in a place where no one knows her, best if it's self-sufficient.
Looking at her, Hua Yi let out a helpless sigh and shook her head. She could only hope that Master would return from Hong Kong soon to preside over justice for the young mistress. With him around, even if Young Master was being unreasonable, he would still have some restraint, not to mention that vixen outside - she had no chance of entering the house!
Back in the room, Lin Yue'er changed her clothes and saw herself in the mirror. Her eyes were red and swollen, but her cheeks were pale, with a large bruise on her shoulder.
She casually tied up her long hair and walked out of the bedroom, only to see Gu Xi Cen standing outside.
When he saw her come out, he pointed to the sofa and said, "Sit down."
Lin Yue was stunned for a moment, unsure of what he wanted to do, but still walked over and sat down as instructed.
Gu Xi Cen also sat down beside her, holding a spray in her hand. She shook it several times before spraying it onto her injured shoulder.
A refreshing coolness splashed on the skin, very comfortable.
Knowing that he was medicating himself, Lin Yue'er remained still, her mind a complete blank, quiet to the point of being somewhat unnatural.
After spraying the spray on, Gu Xi Cen used her palm to rub the skin there warm.
His movements were smooth and cautious, afraid of hurting her.
His palm gradually warmed up, forming a sharp contrast with the previous coolness. Lin Yue'er turned her head to look at him. His eyes were cast down, his gaze very focused, but he couldn't see even a hint of anything else.
"I've never seen Big Brother lose control like this before." He suddenly spoke up, it was unclear whether he was explaining for Gu Wangchuan or what.
Lin Yue'er smiled bleakly, "He hates me."
Because of hatred, he can do everything he thinks is justified.
Gu Xi Zhen raised her eyes, and her gaze seemed to hold a hint of twilight mist, "Do you think it's just hatred?"
Lin Yue'er was taken aback, "Isn't it?" She took a deep breath and turned her head back, saying softly, "You told me about the hardships he suffered. He's only 16 years old, still just a half-grown child, yet he has to bear the pressure of an adult. To put all this blame on my mother's head, then shift it to me, isn't that hatred?"
She put down her hand, gazed at her quietly for a moment, and said, "No one understands Big Brother better than I do. He wouldn't waste his time on a woman like this, even if he hated you, he wouldn't use such a deliberate way to torture you. He would have more means, one move would be enough to make you wish you were dead, all he needs to do is sit back and slowly appreciate it."
Listening to his words, Lin Yue'er was confused, "What do you want to say?"
He analyzed so much, wanting her to know if Gu Wangchuan's hatred still had any reservations.
Gu Xi Cen pursed her lips, but didn't respond, the dusk in her eyes deepening.
Lin Yueer moved her shoulder, finding that the medicine was effective, and it didn't hurt much anymore. Her skin also felt a lot looser. She smiled slightly, "Thank you, I'm much better."
Gu Xi Cen nodded, stood up, thought for a moment, and threw the spray to her, "You keep it."
He turned and left her room, Lin Yueer put away the things he gave. After hesitating for a while, she still made a call to Yang Liu, but the other party didn't answer after a while on the phone. Knowing that she was still angry with herself, she felt even more sad, then she called Zhang Jiajia again.
"Little Yue Jie..." Zhang Jiajia picked up the phone, her tone hesitant and a bit unfamiliar, "Is there something?"
"Jiajia, are you with Yangliu?"
"Oh...... we......" The rest of her words seemed to be stopped by someone, and she didn't say anything else.
Lin Yue'er endured the discomfort, speaking softly, "Jia Jia, I'm sorry, I didn't intentionally want to deceive you guys. I just wanted to tell you that I cherish our friendship, always have." Tears were slightly uncontrollable, she took a few deep breaths and smiled again, "No matter what, I'm grateful for you guys."
After she finished speaking, she quietly hung up the phone, and in her downcast eyes, there was a complex and knotted emotion.
It's time to put an end to all this.
It was late at night, and the room was pitch black. Lin Yue'er picked up her simple luggage and looked around. It wasn't until she wanted to leave that she realized this place, although beautiful, was like a cage that trapped her, and she didn't have any lingering feelings for it.
She pushed open the door, gently picked up her suitcase and went downstairs.
When Lin Yue'er's uncle opened the door in a daze, he was stunned, "Little Yue? You... how did you come back?"
Auntie heard the noise and came out too, took a look and was equally shocked, "Xiao Yue?"
"Uncle, Auntie, I want to come back and stay for a few days." Lin Yue'er forced a smile and said lightly.
"Back?!" Uncle exclaimed, "Have you had a falling out with Gu's family?"
