A young man was playing a game on his mobile. After that he had dinner and fell asleep.
.
.
"Congratulations it's a boy." Doctor congratulated.
AFTER FEW MONTHS
"So I have reincarnated. The house seems well off but old fashioned. Am I in the past? Whatever let's live for now. Thankfully, I'm still Indian and Sanatani otherwise who knows what I will have to eat and go under traumatic experiences." baby said in gibberish.
"Nishu, are you hungry?" mother came with milk bottle in her hand and put it in Nishant's mouth. Nishant used his both hands to hold it. Mother also kept a grip on the bottle in case things go south.
Soon the bottle emptied and mother pulled it away.
Burp~ Baby gave a cute burp and his mother giggled and then went to work.
AFTER 1 YEAR
Nishant was watching TV with his mother when he saw something he didn't expect.
[Breaking news, 3 Battlemages died in a recent attack by one-eyed wolves. The monster attacks are becoming frequent in the Arravali ranges. Is this indication of something big happen-] the channel changed.
"I hope Battlemages quickly do something about that." Mother said in a worried tone.
"Mahjick-" Nishant muttered. Mother looked at Nishant in shock.
"You just said something!" Mother joyously hugged Nishant.
AFTER 2 YEARS
'So I'm in the world of Versatile Mage. It's really a pity that it's illegal to awaken magic before the age of 10 and that takes away lots of perks of reincarnation. I can now only make my habits which can be proved useful in future.' Nishant thought.
'Let's see what are the things I can do for better growth in future:
1. The habit of meditation is a must.
2. A healthy and Strong body is not a must but it has its own benefits especially my reflexes and agility.
And...
Good grief I can only think of these two things I'm screwed. Are there really no major perks of reincarnation in Versatile Mage of course except the information of treasures? Think... think... think... *sigh*
This one will be just a gamble but I will not be losing much anyway except some time. I should train both of my hands.' Nishant thought. He hoped to get something out of it.
Over the years Nishant meditated and did workout. Instead of focusing on a muscular body he focused on a strong body with high muscle and bone density.
He didn't focus much on his studies and always scored average.
AFTER 10 YEARS
'Good grief, seems like I will not be able to get myself Spirit Grade Stardust Tool. It costs a staggering 4 Crores (952K dollars) , my family by no means can afford it. I can only rely on resources provided by school and for that I need to get into a good school. Seems like I need to study seriously now.' Nishant thought.
AFTER 5 YEARS
It was raining heavily. Lightning strikes occur after every few seconds.
"Seems like someone will definitely awaken Lightning Element." a student said while watching thunder strikes.
"Don't forget about Water Element."
"Next! Nishant!" Teacher called out.
Nishant went to the front of the class.
He placed his hands on the awakening stone.
'Lightning. Fire. Lightning. Fire...' Nishant prayed.
Inside Nishant's spiritual world a red star dust appeared.
"Damn! He awakened Fire Element and here I'm with Light Element." a boy said in envy.
After awakening Nishant returned to his seat. The remaining students also awakened their elements and the awakening ceremony came to an end.
Then the teacher started teaching about 3 stages of magic casting.
After the school ended Nishant went to his home and immediately started meditating.
AFTER 4 MONTHS
"Fire Burst: Scorch" Nishant casted. Thanks to meditating for the last 12 years and practicing writing with both of his hands. Nishant's mental strength was high from the start which enabled him to control the stars much quicker than others. He was also able to meditate for a long time compared to others. He also had Innate Talent more like Acquired Talent of doing 3 things simultaneously which give him 3X speed in controlling the stars, in mana recovery and in cultivation.
'At this rate I will surely be top among my peers.' Nishant talked to himself.
AFTER 6 MONTHS
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
The annual exam is being conducted in the seminar hall to sort out the talented students from the mass and make an elite class.
"Student Nishant, come to the front." examiner called.
Nishant went to the front and put his hands on the orb.
The orb starts glowing with intense red light.
"S Grade" Examiner declared.
"Do you want to take a practical exam?" Examiner asked.
"Yes" Nishant replied. The examiner signalled his assistant who put up a cardboard dumm.
"Fire Burst: Scotch!" the fireball hit the dummy in the center. Nishant held back by not casting Second Tier Novice Spell.
"A+" Examiner declared. Then Nishant returned to his seat.
AFTER FEW WEEKS
Nishant got 3rd place in the exam much to his dismay which would have resulted in his demise if not for the fact that 1st and 2nd rankers already had Cultivation Tools.
'Phew~ I thought I lost my chance.' Nishant sighed in relief.
'The Mortal Grade Stardust Tool gives 20% boost means my cultivation speed with 1.2x of others. If I can cultivate for 24 hrs then output will be equal to 29 hours. Let's not slack off until I have my own cultivation tool.
Nishant was very happy with the results which motivated him a lot.
AFTER 2 YEARS
'Everything is going well, actually much better than I expected. To think I will be able to reach Mid Tier in just 2 ? years and awaken Space Element on top of it. It's time for me to claim that Spirit Seed from China.' Nishant made his decision.
'Should I really go to China and take that Spirit Seed. I might cause some distortions. Right, those distortions may cause serious issues. I should just ignore them.' Nishant said to himself.
AFTER FEW WEEKS
Nishant got accepted into IIM(Indian Institute of Magic) Delhi by flaunting his Space Element as his secondary element.
"Altars, huh?" Nishant came across the term while reading a booklet on IIM.
The Altar was actually a 5 storey tower with a big hall on its top. The Tower is designed to absorb mage's mana from all Nebula's while climbing the tower and use it to increase element density. Mages will also decide the density of the elements. Then mage's mana is replenished quickly and then emptied again. The process repeats several times in a day. If mages have cultivation tools then the numbers easily reach 80 to 100 times a day, a single cycle usually takes a complete day and with cultivation tools at least a ? of a day. So, a single day is equal to 30 days outside and semester exam toppers get 1 week to cultivate.
External sources of mana were strictly prohibited, as they are mostly impure and harm the Altar. There is a mana filter but even it will get eroded if all students exploit it and it is one of the most expensive and rare things used to build the Altar. If filter material was in abundance then why would mages put their lives at risk to get Mana Diamonds from Purple Zones.
There are 10 Altars in total- Fire Altar, Lightning Altar, Earth Altar, Wind Altar, Water Altar, Ice Altar, Light Altar, Dark Altar, Dimensional Altar and Plant Altar. Other than them, there is also a Hellish Maze for developing mental strength which indirectly helps in improving Psychic, Space, Curse and Chaos Elements.
AFTER FEW DAYS
Nishant went to the Hunter Association in the capital.
Nishant entered the Hunter Association and approached the registration counter.
"How can I help you sir?" Receptionist asked.
"I want to register as a hunter." Nishant replied.
"Please fill this form sir." The receptionist provided Nishant with a pen and form. Nishant quickly filled the form and returned it.
"Nishant... IIM!... Intermediate Mage! nothing less from an IIM..." The receptionist entered the data in the system. Then she handed over Nishant a Hunter's badge.
'Novice Hunter' Nishant read the rank of his badge. Then he went to his dorms to rest.
AFTER FEW DAYS
Nishant went to Hunter's Association to get a mission.
'Let's see... Find a pet lost in the sewer 10 k... Magician for a Birthday party 5 k... Substitute Teacher for Practical 100 k but it's for 12 days means 8.5 k or something... damn it! all these are just too stupid. Where is the hunting part? Or are hunters supposed to hunt money?' Nishant was losing his mind due to missions available for Novice Hunters were not up to his standards.
'I can choose to join a hunter party but I don't think it will be good considering Directors asked me to keep my Space Element a secret. Let's swallow my pride and do the job. I only need to do 10 such missions.' Nishant said to himself.
So Nishant started his missions.
...
"No don't take pictures of me."
"Oye! don't go there the place is still hot enough to burn you"
...
"What did you do to my dog?"
"What did I do? you should be relieved this pest is in one piece even after biting me. Now give me my money."
...
"Teacher! can you please show us the Fiery Fist: Exploding Heavens? It will really motivate us."
"Is that so?... Fiery Fist: Exploding Heavens."
"Wow teacher you are really cool."
AFTER 1 MONTH
"Here is your new badge sir." The receptionist gave Nishant a new badge.
"Finally Intermediate Hunter" Nishant went all out to quickly get out of that humiliating rank.
"Intermediate Missions... To subdue monsters which are targeting cattle 50 k... To subdue monsters preying on pigs of Piggery Farming 100 k... To subdue monsters targeting laborers in Landfills 100 k..."
NEXT DAY
Nishant is standing before a large iron gate waiting for it to be opened.
The gate started to open. A man in a 2 piece suit came out followed by guards.
"I'm K. Chopra, owner of this farm. I assume you have come in response to my request in Hunter's Association." Chopra introduced himself.
"Yes, I'm Nishant, an Intermediate Hunter. If you don't mind I would like to see the place of the incident." Nishant tried his best to act as a professional hunter.
"Sure, by the way, are you alone?" Chopra asked.
"Yes, is anything wrong?" Nishant asked.
"Then I hope you know what you are doing? We also have footage of the monsters. Akbar! Akbar! where the hell does that lazy pig go?" Chopra asked his gate guard.
"What else, he is laying in pig pen after drinking a whole bottle? I have complained about him several times but you always go easy on him." The guard said in a tone with a hint of degradation.
"You will accompany Mr. Nishant as long as he is here. I will deal with that pig's child Akbar." The owner left with furious steps.
The guard led Nishant to the security room which was just a small room with a screen split into 4. One of the camera was showing K. Chopra ordering his labours to forcefully dragging a drunken man who was most likely Akbar. The guard showed and revealed the culprit as One-eyed wolves numbering up to 5.
"5 huh" Nishant fell into deep thought. It should be an easy mission for a Mid Tier mage but he doesn't have any experience with monsters.
"Will it be possible?" The guard asked, he was quite afraid after the incident. Many laborers were already protesting which forced the owner to put up that mission with an adequate prize. If not for the underground water tank, the guard would have surely died.
"Don't worry it's no big deal." Nishant assured. He was surprised that such a number of monsters managed to sneak in but again the farmery was on the edge of the safe zone with mountains, it was hard to sneak in but not impossible especially in such terrain.
"Thank goodness." The guard sighed in relief.
"So what do you think Mr. Nishant? How long will it take to kill those monsters?" The owner asked while entering the room.
"Depends... if they happened to come tonight. I will try my best to kill them but I will not be able to stop them if they happen to flee." Nishant said with certainty.
"If they don't come then?" The owner asked. He was already facing the problem as his production was down by half due night shift off.
"I will follow their trail. If they still happen to be in the safe zone then I will hunt them down to the best of my abilities." Nishant assured.
At night time, the 5 wolves again come to the Farm. Nishant was watching them on CCTV with the owner. Wolves sniffed the air and wandered in the farm unhinged.
"Don't come out until I deal with them." Nishant warned. Nishant doesn't have any experience in hunting monsters and even a little bit of distraction can prove fatal.
'Ki Armour' Nishant covered his body with Ki and made his way towards the One-eyed wolves with careful steps. If not for his talent and space element, he would have joined the experienced hunters even if he had to work as a porter.
'Damn, this is much different than I imagined.' Nishant might be acting confident before the owner but this will be his first encounter with monsters and he was very nervous. The moonless night and cold breeze were adding up to his nerves.
'Come on Nishant if you get scared from these pests how are you going to become strong.' Nishant tried to motivate himself. Nishant observed wolves from hiding and then made his move.
"Fire Burst: Rupture!" Nishant hit one of the wolves with the Fireball. The wolf flew several metres back. The attack drew the attention of other one-eyed wolves. One eyed wolves rushed towards Nishant. Nishant smiled when he found two of the wolves were in line-of-fire.
"Fiery Fist: Exploding Heavens!" Nishant swung his fist towards the wolves. Two wolves turned into ashes. One wolf got scared and ran away.
Screeehhh~ A wolf clawed at Nishant but Ki Armour successfully protected Nishant as if he was wearing steel armour.
"Fire Burst: Rupture" Nishant shot a fireball on Wolf's head which dared to attack him. The fireball exploded at point blank and killed the wolf.
"Three dead, one half dead, one escaped." Nishant tallied the numbers. He was still tense, anything can go wrong anytime and monsters will not show any mercy.
"Fire Burst: Rupture!" Nishant killed the half dead wolf and chased after the escaping wolf.
"Scatter!" Nishant shot forward at great speed. (Using Telekinesis: Scatter to get propelled forward and Ki Armour will protect from any mishap.)
Soon Nishant caught up to the One-eyed wolf. Wolf clearly showed why monsters have advantage over mages. While Basic Tier mages can only have offensive spells or defensive spells or evasive spells. A monster has all of that.
"Fire Burst: Rupture!" Nishant targeted the wolf but Nishant wasn't used to hitting running targets and missed by a mile.
Nishant jumped high into the air using Space Element. He predicted the escaping path of the wolf and released the spell.
"Fiery Fist: Exploding Heavens!" Nishant again targeted the wolf and missed but the shockwave of attack caused the running wolf to lose its balance.
"Fire Burst: Rupture!" Nishant didn't give the monster any chance to get on its feet and successfully landed the hit
"Fire Burst: Rupture!" Nishant ended the life of the monster with one more hit. Nishant brought the corpse of the monster back with him as proof.
The owner throws a small party at the successful subjugation of monsters. Nishant had dinner with the owner and returned to his dorm.
...
"Let's see, my first attack landed successfully but wasn't enough to kill the monster. After that... I
sort of went defensive and got distracted which resulted in a wolf landing a strike on me. Damn it! I didn't take a soul container with me. Good grief, I'm really a newbie." Nishant recalled his fight and his mistakes.
