  ———————————————————

A field where the wind blows gently. Nearby, Star Constellation Immortal Venerable and Spectral Soul faced off, watching each other warily. Star Constellation was calm, as if foreseeing the future, while Spectral Soul, nearing the brink of sealing, appeared irritated and deep in thought. At that moment—

Fang Yuan and Giant Sun Immortal Venerable intruded upon Star Constellation’s battlefield.

Star Constellation paused, evaluating the intruding Fang Yuan and Giant Sun before entering a standoff. Spectral Soul, slightly annoyed but contemplative, seemed to fade from the battlefield’s presence.

The first to act was Giant Sun. He elevated Fang Yuan’s fortune aura, then activated the ancient Prevent Prediction Gu. Fang Yuan followed with the Infernal Gufire Array, restructuring the battlefield so that only Gu could be used. This technique was extremely difficult to develop, but Fang Yuan, sacrificing several Gu, deemed it worthwhile due to his specialty in Gu-combination combat.

Star Constellation failed to stop the Prevent Prediction Gu because Giant Sun's fortune aura dulled her ability to respond, allowing only vague foresight of Fang Yuan’s moves.

Understanding this, Star Constellation judged it better to eliminate Giant Sun first, but due to the Gu interference, her prediction ability was halted for a while.

She had long battled egoists like Fang Yuan, using predictive experience to counter them. Fang Yuan then used Weather Gu to make it rain. Star Constellation, realizing that one of the raindrops might conceal Fang Yuan through Substitution Gu, began to retreat. At that moment, Spectral Soul launched a surprise attack on her. Although she dodged it, Fang Yuan had already approached.

Spectral Soul, trying to strike Star Constellation first, prepared to use Soul Destruction Gu, which activates with a certain probability. Fang Yuan immediately intervened using Reflection Gu to redirect the effect.

The Soul Destruction Gu activated instantly because Giant Sun had boosted Fang Yuan’s fortune aura. As planned, the reflected attack triggered successfully. Spectral Soul, momentarily unwell, looked aside.

There, he saw Star Constellation retreating with the grace of a fly—yet powerful—targeting Giant Sun. She then used Impact Gu to launch Space Collapse Gu toward him. Though shaken, Giant Sun only suffered a graze thanks to his favorable fortune.

He glanced at his wound and wondered aloud, “…What? Even my reaction time was predicted?”

Star Constellation, having concluded that Giant Sun dictates the battlefield, predicted a delay in his reaction and struck at that moment. Giant Sun, recovering, absorbed the lingering energy from the spatial distortion with Absorption Gu.

Giant Sun then linked himself and Fang Yuan through Legion Enhancement Gu so that as long as Fang Yuan remained unharmed, Giant Sun would recover as well.

Believing Fang Yuan wouldn't be injured, Giant Sun chose this tactic. However, Star Constellation exploited the opening and activated Explosion Gu. Giant Sun noticed its weakness and wondered why she used it. She then used Ignition Gu to burn the debris and smoke, clouding the rain with mist. Despite the rain, Star Constellation took out an ancient Area Collapse Gu.

This Gu resembled an armored centipede wrapped in jade-like ore. A destructive Gu from 200 years ago, she hurled it into the flames and activated a mid-grade Defense Gu for herself.

Giant Sun reacted with his own Defense Gu, but Fang Yuan, still dueling Spectral Soul, turned his gaze back and coldly watched as the terrain exploded. He used Magic Substitution Gu to redirect the destruction to a faraway location.

Star Constellation, unfazed, had prepared Activation Restriction Gu in advance, aimed at blocking Fang Yuan’s Gu usage.

Giant Sun, having anticipated this, was already beside Spectral Soul. Spectral Soul struck both him and Fang Yuan with Soul Wave Gu, throwing them into the sky together.

Though both landed safely with proper fall techniques, this gave Spectral Soul and Star Constellation some preparation time. Still, Fang Yuan had surely anticipated this.

He had earlier sent a mole-like Gu insect, Legless Mole, to dig beneath the terrain and set a trap. As Star Constellation’s prediction block ended, she tried to foresee Fang Yuan’s next move—only for the Terrain Collapse Gu to activate, nearly dropping her and Spectral Soul into a giant sinkhole.

Fang Yuan, knowing they’d likely avoid falling, then sent in a fly-shaped Gu insect: Mass Soul Ignition Gu. Star Constellation tried to redirect it with Wind Gu by changing aerial trajectories, but failed to stop it completely. She used Spectral Soul as a shield and chose to confront him first.

Star Constellation had configured the Fate System so that no matter what, it would self-destruct upon activation. This gave her confidence that Fang Yuan would inevitably lose.

Meanwhile, Fang Yuan stood in a distant, vast field, reflecting.

“If Star Constellation is desperately defending the Fate System, she must’ve done something to make victory meaningless for me. But meaningless doesn’t equate to nonexistent. If I must, I’ll restore the Fate System.”

He referred to it with intention—"restore."

Fang Yuan then told Giant Sun to raise the odds of absurd, conflicting probabilities to confuse Star Constellation’s predictions. Spectral Soul, now glancing again at Star Constellation, noticed both teams facing off from far away in a silent standoff once more.
