chapter 2 Side Story – Crossover X: The Dragon and the Pocket Monsters

Perfect—that gives us more creative freedom. This crossover will be a non-canon side story, like a dream, a magical anomaly, or something Michiko forgets afterward. It won’t affect the main timeline or character arcs—just a fun "What If" adventure.

Here’s a refined version of Chapter X: The Dragon and the Pocket Monsters, marked as a side story:

  The White Dragon: Michiko Maltivius

Side Story – Crossover X: The Dragon and the Pocket Monsters

This event is considered non-canon and does not affect the main storyline.

  ---

  Somewhere between Realspace and Dreamspace…

The forge flickered, Michiko blinked, and everything changed.

Gone were the stone walls of Karaz-a-Karak, the comforting rumble of dwarven voices, the subtle resonance of ancient runes. She stood instead beneath a purple sky with drifting clouds shaped like cartoonish creatures. The ground was soft. Grass? No—pixels?

  Stolen novel; please report.

“What sort of illusion is this…?”

She flared her wings, ready to burn her way free—only to find her breath fizzled into colorful sparkles. Her magic was... warped, constrained.

Before she could test further, a chubby yellow creature popped out of a bush and zapped her with lightning.

Michiko roared in reflex, swatting the bolt away with a rune-shield. “Rude.”

“Pikachu!” it chirped defiantly, cheeks crackling.

“Do you wish to die, tiny rodent?”

Another voice echoed from behind a tree. “Whoa! Chill, dragon lady! That’s just Pikachu being friendly!”

A human boy in a cap and jacket bounded over. “You new around here? You must be a Legendary!”

  “I’m a what?”

“A Legendary Pokémon—super rare, super powerful. You’re dragon and… fairy type? Maybe steel?”

  She stared at him.

“Right. What’s your name, Miss Legendary?”

“…Michiko Maltivius of Clan Drakk, rune-writer and slayer of greenskins. And I will have answers.”

  “Cool. I’m Ash. Wanna battle?”

  “What is a battle?”

Before she could protest, a red-and-white sphere flew from Ash’s belt, and a Charizard burst forth in a flash of light and smoke.

  Michiko blinked. “Another dragon? Fine.”

With a flourish, she took her full dragon form—snow-white scales gleaming, runes glowing faintly. The Charizard blinked. Pikachu fainted just from the pressure.

Ash gaped. “Okay. So you're definitely not from around here…”

A ripple passed through the sky. A shimmering tear opened in the air behind Michiko. She turned and felt a pull, as if the universe itself was correcting a mistake.

She gave Charizard a nod. “A fine opponent. Another time, perhaps.”

And with a flap of her wings, she vanished into the rift—leaving Ash with a shorted-out Pikachu, a stunned Charizard, and a mystery no one in Kanto would ever believe.

  ---

Michiko awoke back in the forge, a rune half-etched beneath her claws. She paused.

“...Did I just fight a cartoon lizard?”

Freda peeked in. “Did you say something?”

Michiko shook her head. “No. Just... burned myself with acid again.”
