  Alex stood still for a moment, taking in everything. His instincts told him not to trust these glowing entities, but his logic told him to play along—for now. Information was power, and he didn’t have enough of it.

  “Where do I start?” Alex asked, his voice calm but firm.

  The lead entity lifted an ethereal hand, pointing beyond the trees. “The first trial awaits.”

  Without another word, the figures vanished—as if they had never been there.

  Alex exhaled sharply. No answers. No real direction. Just a so-called “trial.”

  He adjusted his rifle strap, gripping the weapon tighter. This wasn’t the first time he’d been dropped into the unknown.. He had survived worse.
