A Normal Bus Ride Turned Nightmare
The school bus rumbled down the long, desolate road stretching through an isolated forest, its headlights illuminating the cracked pavement ahead. Inside, chaos reigned.
Children laughed, screamed, threw paper balls, and wrestled over seats. The older kids tried to talk over the younger ones, while the bus driver, Dave, exhausted from the day, gritted his teeth, gripping the wheel tightly.
"SIT DOWN!" he finally barked, glancing back into the rearview mirror.
And in that brief moment of distraction—
A portal ripped open in front of them.
The bus lurched forward, the forest and road disappearing, replaced by a crumbling, desolate cityscape—skyscrapers shattered, roads split open, abandoned vehicles rusting, and the distant moans of something… unnatural.
The kids quieted down immediately, realization creeping in.
Dave’s knuckles turned white as he muttered in disbelief, “…What the hell…?”
Then—
BANG! BANG! BANG!
An injured man with black goo leaking from his mouth and eyes slammed against the side of the bus, his face twisted not in fear, but rage.
The kids screamed.
Dave instinctively slammed the doors shut, but then—
More figures emerged.
Disfigured, monstrous, unnatural—twisted beyond recognition. A drone whirred overhead, recording everything.
“GO! GO! GO!” shouted James, 13, already in panic mode.
Dave, snapping back to his senses, threw the bus into reverse, peeling off backwards as the horde attempted to surround them.
The tires screeched, leaving black smoke trails, but—
One of them latched onto the back.
Terror in the Streets
The children screamed as the zombie climbed the back of the bus, pulling itself toward the roof hatch, black drool oozing from its gaping maw.
"QUIET!" Dave shouted, gripping the wheel.
The oldest kids—Lin, 14, and James, 13—rushed to calm the others, trying to keep them from completely losing it.
The bus swerved sharply, turning onto another ruined street, but more figures stirred in the darkness, emerging from cracked buildings and underground tunnels, scurrying toward the sound of the screeching tires.
From above, a shadowed figure stood on a rooftop, watching.
Purple’s armored boot came into view.
Disaster Strikes
On top of the bus, the zombie finally broke open the hatch, black drool dripping onto the terrified children below.
Dave glanced up in horror just as he hit a deep pothole.

CRASH!
The bus tipped, skidding onto its side, sliding down the street before crashing into a storefront.
Everything went silent.
A Moment of Panic
Lin’s ears rang, her body numb from the impact. A faint cry from an 8-year-old shook her from the haze.
"Shh! Quiet!" she whispered urgently.
James groaned, shaking off the impact, before looking over at Dave—
Unconscious. His head was slumped against the steering wheel.
Then—
A loud, piercing shriek.
Lin looked out the back window.
The horde was closing in.
Two… three blocks away.
They had minutes at best.
Lin turned to James, her expression dead serious.
"We have to lead them away. If we stay here, we’re dead."
James looked horrified. "NO! Are you insane?!"
"LOOK!" she pointed.
The massive horde, filling the streets, unstoppable and closing in fast.
"We don’t have time to argue! I’m the fastest runner in our school—I’ll lead them away! You get the kids somewhere safe!"
James hesitated, but the situation was undeniable.
Lin climbed onto the seats, ready to jump out the side window—
But just as she leapt—
A hand grabbed her ankle.
Near Death
Under the bus, the half-crushed zombie that had ridden on the roof held tight, its fingers digging into Lin’s leg.
She screamed, kicking it in the face, but it wouldn’t let go.
Before she was dragged under, James jumped down, grabbing his heavy backpack and slamming it onto the zombie’s head.
CRUNCH!
The creature’s skull caved in, and Lin was freed.
But before they could celebrate—
The horde was too close.
Twelve feet away.
Nowhere to run.
They braced themselves for the worst—
But then—
A blur of purple energy flashed past them.
The Arrival of a Warrior
In an instant, twenty monsters were torn apart—bodies bisected, heads split clean off, black goo and flesh splattered everywhere.
Lin and James stood frozen, barely comprehending what happened.
Standing among the ruined horde was a tall figure, clad in sleek purple armor, her body glowing faintly with an otherworldly hue.
Purple.
She turned her head slightly toward them, her voice cold and sharp.
"This is your life now. If you don’t get stronger, you will be eaten."
Lin and James followed her gaze to the rooftops.
Grotesque humanoid figures perched above, watching.
And even deeper into the city’s shadows, hundreds of glowing red eyes peered out from the darkness.
Purple tossed them two small, dark-grey spheres.
"It’s like my armor. Just… a little less complicated."
The Horror Grows
A disturbance in the air.
A 12-foot monster, troll-like, with two faces, three arms, and jagged claws, stomped forward, demanding to feast on the children and everything inside the bus.
Silver suddenly teleported in, startling Lin and James.
Above, monsters on the rooftops grew restless.
"Stay away from the black goo," Silver explained casually. "If it touches you while it’s liquid, you’ll turn into one of them."
Lin, still panicking, quickly asked, "How do we get home?!"
Silver smirked. "You have to live long enough to figure that out."
As he pushed the bus upright, the troll-like monster attacked.
Purple dodged easily, the impact kicking up a massive dust cloud.
"But you just teleported here!" James shouted. "Why can’t you just teleport us home?!"
Silver sighed. "I can only teleport to locations on this world. My scanners show you came from another universe."
With that, he shoved them back into the bus—
Just as Purple dodged another attack and sliced clean through the monster’s skull, black goo spraying high into the air.
Silver placed a hand on the bus.
"Time to get you guys out of here before they all start acting up."
A blink of light, and the bus vanished—relocated to somewhere safer.
Prelude to a Bigger Battle
As Silver reappeared beside Purple, they both looked toward the distant horizon—toward Dome City.
Silver smirked. "That little heroic event probably woke her up."
Purple cracked her knuckles. "Good. I was hoping to shoot the fair one with her anyway."
With that, they moved forward into the dark city, surrounded by monsters lurking in the shadows.
